A lot of pretty nice characters for me this gen. Big fan of Rika, Grusha, Iono, Nemona, Poppy, the Nurse and Ortega, and I've also taken a real liking to Larry, Arven, and Katy. Good variety this gen, for sure
Yeah, it's gotta be Larry. Completely deadpan face, doesn't talk like an autismo and actually talks like a human being, complains like an actual office worker would, gets talked over by louder characters, also an elite four member, gives you the TM facade and says that a kid like you shouldn't be using its namesake yet. 10/10. Although, I also enjoyed how edgy Grusha was. And Poppy was very cute. I wish we saw more of her. To be honest, I really liked the characters in this game. They're probably the best thing about this gen.

I feel the same way. I don't know how they managed to frick it up, but they made me feel more attached to the characters than to the pokemon themselves. Not saying it's a bad thing, of course, but the series is called "Pokémon", not "Humans".
It's a nice change of pace compared to the swsh characters. I never cared for a single rival in that game but I like all three rivals this gen. Unfortunately the generic trainer npcs were just terrible this time around
I like the e4's dynamic together overall. They mesh well with each others personalities. Geeta on the other hand feels absolutely soulless, to the point where I think she's secretly the villain somehow. Maybe she pushed Sada/Turo for their research or she's some kind of AI herself. And her connection to Glimmora, a Pokemon closely related to area zero.
