>actually it's not crypto fault that you can't get a card >crypto crashes >hey you still want a card? how would you like a brand new one 50% off? Please buy it
honestly, frick nvidia and frick crypto gays
I have a 3080 and still play at 720p because 720p ultra with gaytracing looks better than 1440p low with gay tracing for stable fps but stay in your lane king. Be comfy as frick
Nah, it's just that mid range 40 series gpus will only come next year. And low end 2024. Remember 2016 when you could buy low, mid, high and enthusiast class gpus all in the same year? That's gone now.
Also israelitevidia is releasing the 4060 with only 8GB of vram, which will cripple it severely at 1440p in the future. Remember 2016 when they went above and beyond with the GTX 1060 and released it with 6GB of vram? That time is gone.
If Bitcoin doesn't magically come back by October every miner will dump all GPUs and will crash the market for the next 10y.
Gaming is going to focus on mobile next year and PC will be a Dead market with no games and 1 milion used up GPUs nobody wants.
It costs hundreds more building a computer with the same components in it.
I've tried on several sites, always ends up at least £300/400 more for the same shit.
>I've tried on several sites, always ends up at least £300/400 more for the same shit.
It costs more when you pick parts yourself because you don't pick cheap/outdated cpu/mobo/psu.
Get the 3060ti Version. It is much better than the standard 3060, by about 30% in fact. Usually in the past the 'ti' versions are just a boost, around 10% better performance, but this time round for the 3060 at least, the ti version is a big jump as its basically and built on the same architecture as the 3070.
My brother gave me a 3080 set up this weekend. Am I good to go or should I be looking to get 40xx? In the next 48 months the only AAA game I intend to play is Stalker 2
3080 is going to age like milk at higher resolutions
vramlet card
with that being said, the 40 series aren't going to be much better
novidia is seriously stingy with vram amounts nowadays
I think he's saying it because of the Ukranian war still going on. Even if Ukraine is finally winning (turns out stalling the war out 6 months was long enough to turn mobilized citizens/volunteers into an actual army with US/Nato arms and training) it could still lead to the game getting delayed again
I remember they moved a bunch of the staff to Prague, but some stayed in Ukraine if I remember right.

Yeah, just looked it up. Some dudes joined the military but the majority of the studio is still in Prague. Apparently the game is still in dev and just got pushed back again. But these are slavs so who knows what means. Could be a complete lie (typical) or they might actually be doing their squats over a computer.
I wouldn't call it winning, they're taking back the area around kharkov but it's a hard to defend location and the russians pulled back from it basically without a fight after the initial breakthrough.
Most of the losses for the russians there was territory, rather than personnel or material, so if you're expecting to finally see this war turn around in ukraine's favor you're going to be disappointed. All of their other offensives were massive failures with casualties in the thousands, which nobody is even talking about, naturally.
This is also the first time ukraine was able to actually take any major ground against any kind of resistance. If they can do it a second or third time, then maybe, but I'm not holding my breath.
I know the history the studio post-soviet union. I know the studio has at no point had a smooth development cycle and the guy who owns the IP is one of those douche nozzles that got rich after the wall fell. I just kind of dismiss a lot of that news. To me it just sounds like slavs being slavs and half assing everything
3060 is a high mid tier card at this point. Its still current gen and Cyberpunk was supposed to release on 9 years old console.
Can't imagine how shitty PC hardware must be at that point, if it couldn't run a game fluidly that release before the card itself.
Nvidia is starting to lack behind in development and those newer cards have crazy power demands.
1060 was on 120W TDP
2060 -> 160W
3060 -> 170W
3060 Ti -> 200W
>and Cyberpunk was supposed to release on 9 years old console
It was announced when those consoles were somewhat new, but by the time the game got further into development it became too heavy for them.
Everyone except investors agree the PS4/XBO versions should have been cancelled. They were a fricking trainwreck and barely worked, but commercially speaking at the time it would have been cutting out more than half your potential userbase.
massive crypto collapse caused billions to disappear and sent massive distrust to all forms of crypto/coins/nfts, and since the price dropped so much (bitcoin more than halved) it became no longer profitable to mine for bitcoin unless you have massive amounts of cheap/free electricity
the problem is that nvidia is desperately trying to keep prices artificially high, so they'd rather sell way less video cards than adjust them back to the value they should be
Several things: >Crypto markets crashed, so mining isn't as profitable any more >Ethereum is finally switching to Proof of Stake this week, which will eliminate the need for GPU mining on their network. ETH represents over 90% of the GPU mining market, other cryptos that support mining will likely become saturated when ETH miners try to switch, meaning mining will become unprofitable for the vast majority of people. >Nvidia made too many RTX 3000 series cards and is trying to offload them before the RTX 4000 series releases. Even brand new cards are on sale at retailers. Best Buy had RTX 3080 Ti for $739. >Nvidia is expected to announce the RTX 4000 series at their developers conference next week, which will further reduce demand for the older cards.
Card will drop as planned. However, nvidia will sell both the 4000 and 3000 series together. They do this by artificially releasing very small amounts of the 4000s so that it incentivizes people to buy the 3000s since there is still lots of inventory they want to get rid of. However they would need to sell those new 3000s at a competitive price if the used market floods in.
>Are cards going to drop in price like people said or not?
It's a battle of wills between company and consumer at this point. Card availability is very high now, but will consumers buy at the first drop or wait it out? Will companies drop prices first, or wait it out? The real question is how long will NVIDIA and AMD sit on the next gen until releasing them.
>Will companies drop prices first
I'm guessing not. They're still extremely expensive in the EU. 3060Tis goes for 600€ on average, with some hitting 700€ still. Hate this gay earth.
>the improvements are not going to be crazy
looooool >just buy shit asap
lmaooooooo >4xxx is a big meme
shill man, you aren't fooling anyone. 4090 is gonna be 2x a 3090 and there's nothing you can do. we're not buying your old ass cards, we have patience and we will win
when will novidia start increasing the vram meaningfully?
rtx 4060 is rumoured to have only 8gb of vram (!). it's a fricking scam, like buying a GTX 1060 3gb
I haven't looked at prices in a long time, are graphic cards finally affordable again? frick israelitevidia putting all their stock into the hands of buttcoin mining farms and thinking they could keep those 100% price-hikes pegged at that price forever.
Affordable is relative to what you earn I guess, some people don't mind buying a card for 1300$/€, but no overall they're not. Nvndia and amd will do everything they can to keep prices on post-covid levels.
Eh, affordable as in how it used to be: the budget card, the middle card and then the PRO-GAMER card. They were selling the budget cards for as much as GAMER cards used to go for (and had adjusted pricing of the whole line-up accordingly)
Yeah because graphix is a meme. The days of being locked out of pc gaming because you don't have premium hardware are long gone. There's no point in building a $3000 monster pc when integrated graphics can handle it.
No they aren't skipping it, they're just trying to unload the bags they were left holding when crypto crashed and supply lines stabilized.
They aren't going to take a huge loss, they're going to make (you), the unsuspecting customer, pay for it.
After they clear old stock they'll launch the mid/low range 40 series
>sorry goycattle, the market has spoken. Now pay a scalper 1500 dollars for our cards, they're worth that much >WAIT NO WHAT DO YOU MEAN CRYPTO CRASHED? OUR CARDS CAN'T BE WORTHLESS! WHO'S GOING TO PAY REPARATIONS FOR THIS???? IT'S LITERALLY ANOTHER SHOA! >DEAREST AND ESTEEMED CONSUMER PLEASE BUY OUR BRAND NEW 3060TI GRAFX MAXXXX ++++ WHICH IS TOTALLY NOT A REBRANDED BINNED 3070 WE NEED TO MOVE
A tale as old as time.
Those are just binned 3070's. Nividia is just desperate to get rid of old stock.
>actually it's not crypto fault that you can't get a card
>crypto crashes
>hey you still want a card? how would you like a brand new one 50% off? Please buy it
honestly, frick nvidia and frick crypto gays
>50% off
>it's actually still above the MSRP
if you live in america they're in stock and mostly way under msrp. If you live outside burgerstan then you're SOL
meh, this isn't cheap enough for my tastes
a 3070 should be like $400 and a 3080 should be like $550 maximum
>$600 for midrange
I hope anyone that cryptomined burns in a housefire.
>how would you like a brand new one 50% off? Please buy it
where b***h? you still can't find most cards at or below msrp
I'll stick with my current 3060 ti
Gamer's will buy anything and then it will collect dust because there's nothing to play
40xx announcement will be on the the 20th.
These are just refreshes for the poors
Won't the poor just wait until the 40xx come out so they can get 30xx cheap.
Nope I'm poor and have no reason to upgrade my 970 has no problems on my 720p monitor
Bless your heart
That's cute, what are you playing anon kun?
I have a 3080 and still play at 720p because 720p ultra with gaytracing looks better than 1440p low with gay tracing for stable fps but stay in your lane king. Be comfy as frick
my gf's brother just upgraded from a 970 to a 3090 ti
the kid only plays fricking starcraft and classic wow.
These are coming out after 4000 series drops.
also probably not going to see many discounts at the 300 dollar range where these are aiming for
I replaced my 960 with a 3060 just to emulate switch at 60fps
Why?what game?
Upscaled Astral Chain
I bought a 3070ti just to upscale shit with esrgan
Should've waited a little longer and bought a 3090 though but oh well
I just got a 3070 in the mail today. Lets hope my poor 4790k will keep up!
Nah, it's just that mid range 40 series gpus will only come next year. And low end 2024. Remember 2016 when you could buy low, mid, high and enthusiast class gpus all in the same year? That's gone now.

Is RTX 3060 any good?
The computer I'm planning to buy at the end of the month has one.
the old advice is back in place, don't buy a prebuilt.
It costs hundreds more building a computer with the same components in it.
I've tried on several sites, always ends up at least £300/400 more for the same shit.
whats the prebuilt you want look like? sometimes there's weird price outliers that are fine but im curious
Sounds like a troll.
It's going to have a shit mobo, psu and memory. Don't do it. gay.
Show me what prebuilt you're looking at right now because even the best priced ones I can see are 100-200 above DIY
>I've tried on several sites, always ends up at least £300/400 more for the same shit.
It costs more when you pick parts yourself because you don't pick cheap/outdated cpu/mobo/psu.
So it's more expensive. Glad we agree.
https://www.logicalincrements.com/
There are no good products, only good prices. Also depends what you use it for and in what screen resolution.
It's got enough raw performance that you'll be fine for a few years, but you're still going to be ripped off getting one.
Get the 3060ti Version. It is much better than the standard 3060, by about 30% in fact. >GDDRX6X on a x060
Now lets see the bus width
8gb means 256bit, unless they go full moron with a 128bit bus.
i just bought a LAPTOP with a 3070 lol
why do you sound so proud? you bought a laptop
cause i got it at a discount and now i can play vidya games in another room 🙂
also i have a gtx960 right now so almost anything's an upgrade
What are you proud of? You're a grown man who lives with his parents.
I want to replace my 1060 with a 3060 to generate AI art faster.
Then you don't want to get this new 8GB model. You need VRAM for AI art.
My brother gave me a 3080 set up this weekend. Am I good to go or should I be looking to get 40xx? In the next 48 months the only AAA game I intend to play is Stalker 2

Stalker 2 is dead, pal. That game doesn't exist
What? Did the owner of the studio buy too many cars again? What happened this time?
I think he's saying it because of the Ukranian war still going on. Even if Ukraine is finally winning (turns out stalling the war out 6 months was long enough to turn mobilized citizens/volunteers into an actual army with US/Nato arms and training) it could still lead to the game getting delayed again
That's moronic, the studio isn't even in Ukraine anymore. But I hears this news awhile ago. Did they seriously move back to Ukraine?
I remember they moved a bunch of the staff to Prague, but some stayed in Ukraine if I remember right.

They've only ever released pre rendered bullshots and gave excuse after excuse and delay after delay for the game
they're 100% bullshitting, the game isn't coming out and if it ever actually does it will be complete garbage, it's being made by grifters
the only stalker game you should be playing is anomaly
Apparently. Wish we could get another Road Side Picnic game that didn't feel so dated.
you mean groks mod
>people on Ganker still think Stalker 2 was ever a legitimate game
L O L

GSC has tried to reboot Stalker 2 like 3 times now and every time they've run off with Invester's money
>they've run off with Invester's money
Kek, slavs
I should have assumed as much
Either that, or 40xx is delayed by a year or two.
>skipping 40xx
no, they're waiting for everyone to buy the massive stock of 30xx they've been accumulating over the last year
I might pick one if it's cheap enough, but propably won't be and I will skip it.
Unless you're playing race sim there's no reason to buy a highend gpu, to play what? cyberturd? lmao
cyberpunk is really good and I'm getting 60fps on it at 1440p with my 3060, so it doesn't even need a high end gpu
3060 is a high mid tier card at this point. Its still current gen and Cyberpunk was supposed to release on 9 years old console.

did the crypto and scalping stuff end?
What happened?
was it some law or something

better be $199 and $249 other wise its just a waste of parts
You can't have shortages if there are no cards at the first place
Is there any reason to pick a "decent" brand 3060ti gpu over a zotac 3070 if the difference is less than 15 burgers?
No?
I just dont want to deal with heat/sound issues if i buy the cheapest brand even if the card will run at stock values
>cards are still at or above MSRP
FRICK YOU israeliteVIDIA
So what the frick does that mean? Are cards going to drop in price like people said or not?
Eventually. There's a lot of unsold stock.
not if Nvidia have something to do about it
Yes, in us.maybe in Europe, europeans can't pay for the raise in eletricity anyway
Card will drop as planned. However, nvidia will sell both the 4000 and 3000 series together. surely people aren't lying on the internet
https://www.techspot.com/news/95922-rtx-4090-78-faster-than-rtx-3090-ti.html
The 4090 is a tier of product no one should buy. The cards elsewhere aren't going to be more than 30% better value in the best case scenarios.
when will novidia start increasing the vram meaningfully?

The only reasob Im upgrading is because I do most of my gamung on 4K tv noe, and 1070 aint cutting it
I find myself in the same situtation
does your ps4 reach 90 fps avg running gow at 1080p?
No but it runs good enough for a pos movie game like gow. $400 total from 2014
I wanna wait for a 4080 but tbh I'm impatient enough where I'll probably buy a 4090 if it comes out earlier.
Sick of this bullshit 3070 garbage card.
>built a GTX 1080 five years ago
>still plays anything
Is that supposed to be impressive? My base ps4 from Black Friday 2014 plays everything too
Yeah because graphix is a meme. The days of being locked out of pc gaming because you don't have premium hardware are long gone. There's no point in building a $3000 monster pc when integrated graphics can handle it.
Also because devs optimize for my base ps4

Weren't the 3060Ti always a weaker 3070? They're both GA104
if it's not RTX 4060 for $250 i ain't interested
8gb vram
$350
4060 $380
4060ti $480
4070 $580
Print this.
I just picked up at 3070 today for $550. Evga FTW3 version.
You will pay $540 for a low-mid card with only 8 vram and you will be happy
those days are long gone, rip bang for buck.
If the PS5 is being sold at these prices, than new GPUs sure as hell won't be cheap.
I wish I were American so that I could simply loot a new GPU during a Black person riot.
