Because he is and that's a good thing, look at what happened with iwata, he almost fricked everything up because he didn't have an ounce of business sense.

Kimishima and furukawa on the other hand are business men like Yamauchi they prioritise what works which is why their tenures have been vastly superior them Iwata's with his anti-consumer amiibo bullshit.

Nah, maybe if this was pre-2008 he'd be alright, but in a modernized world where only quarterly profits matter, these types are disastrous for the long-haul. The best CEOs these days are those who are savy yet also passionate about the field or industry their company resides around.

This quarter to quarter line must go up growth is infinite investors are the real customers mentality is going to end up sinking these long standing companies.

There is a feedback loop that gets created that hollows the company out of competent talent and alienates customers. It's not over-night and it is a gradual decline and by the time you, the customer, starts noticing it's already too late for the company as they will just push the pedal to the metal to squeeze out one more good quarter for the shareholders.

Every time a person like that hits presidency it's always met with crushing failure, just look at the PS3 and the Wii U and that's because they're too concerned with what they think might be good rather than what the people want.

        >Bob Iger-type
You people just love throwing around the Disney comparisons without actually understanding what made Disney such a soulless husk in the new millennium. Disney purged all of the talent that made the renaissance what it was and then resorted to buying out its competition for growth. This is the opposite strategy to what Nintendo is currently employing. Nintendo focuses on acquiring and nurturing talent, rather than playing the acquisition game that Sony and especially Microsoft has been playing. They've only bought out studios for the talent and unlike the aforementioned they push their acquisitions to excel. Call me when Nintendo starts buying out competing IPs instead of making their own, then the Disney comparisons will be warranted.

Stopped reading there. Pirates, by definition, aren't Consumers.

Who said anything about pirates? I'm talking about last gen when they shoved a bunch of microtransactions into their free apps and games because their systems were failing. Hell, look at what happened to the mii plaza and let's not forget amiibo having actual content locked to it like characters and game modes sane thing with the ereader during gen 6 and that failed too leaving a ton of games with forever locked content.

Does that sound pro consumer to you?

Source? WiiU still made a profit and their "free apps and games" that had MTX were spinoffs

              >they were being anti-consumer but!
Every single time. Also who cares if they're spin offs? The point is that they were going overboard with the mtx, not to mention mii plaza is

              >amiibo having actual content locked to it
This is false and has been false since day 1. youd be better off calling them keys, but then youd still would be wrong because they are just glorified Memory Cards, something started by Sony

              >This is false and has been false since day 1
Okay, tell me how you unlock the FE characters in code name steam without cheating or amiibo. It's one of the many examples so surely you can debunk it.

How do you use the big mushroom and crt filter in Mario maker 1 without cheating anon?
How do you unlock Marth in FE Fates?
How do you unlock the extra challenges in the mega man legacy collection?
How do you unlock fusion mode in Samus Returns?
              That's just a few games.

Last gen Nintendo fricked consumers in the ass just for a little bit of cash instead of just putting out good products.

Nintendo is not allowed to release their shit before Nvidia releases Blackwell. I'm willing to bet my wizards powers that these layoffs is due to Nvidia raising prices on Nintendo and the morons at Nintendo willingly paying the Nvidia tax and fricking over their old and comfortable profit margin strategy. All the morons at Nintendo have to do is drop Nvidia and go with AMD.

They actually use 3rd party testing now. Many of whom are from California, Oregon. They are going to be laying their leftists off first as they see they have way to many under their wing. This is a good thing.
