it's literally still one of the most popular mobile games of all time and millions still play it constantly.
they're even adding it to the PWC which will bring even more people to it
That seems incredibly low for how long the game has been out. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if more people were killed in the same timeframe by toaster electrocution.
Unironically the best pokemon game released since SuMo >has all the pokemon (eventually) >makes you less of a fatass >encourages cooperating with people irl
>from small town >barely any pokemon >gave up >went back to it 2 years later >tons of pokemon suddenly everywhere >play it for a week or so >wait a year >go back and play it again. >collect more pokemon >haven't touched it since spring 19.
Nah, it's still getting updates constantly. There was even some guy who just recently either got shot or held up playing it with his daughter so that gave it some news time again.
Niantic sabotaged it themselves with their terrible decisions. They actually think Pokemon Go's success is because of their own doing and not because of the IP while wondering why every single other game they're making fails right from the get go.
They increased the range of gyms and stops when covid started and decided last year that covid was over and reverted it. Absolutely everyone hated it and they refused to restore it until all the whales went on strike and they started losing revenue.
The last go fest was $15 for a ticket compared to the previous one which was $5, they decided to stop giving out free remote raid passes, they increased the price of raid passes, they cut community days down from 6 hours back to the pre-covid length of 3 hours, and they're introducing new raids where you can't invite remote raiders. The pokemon they choose for community days has been pretty shitty too. The last one we had was Starly, which already an incredibly common spawn.
There's some other things, but those are the ones off the top of my head.
Yes, you had to be right on it. The game was unplayable for a lot of people when they reverted it.
Oh, and the most recent decision. They released the Galar forms for the legendary birds, but they only spawn from a special incense you can use once a day for 15 minutes, have to be constantly moving for it to do anything, and the birds have an incredibly rare chance to spawn.
If you get one to spawn, they have a 90% flee rate and a 0.03% catch rate.
Don't forget that they seemingly broke being a passenger in a car or being on a bike. Prior to Covid I was able to ride my bike and still see Pokemon update on my phone or spin Pokestops without stopping. Now when I'm in a car as a passenger or on a bike you can virtually never spin a Pokestop unless you're going 3 MPH or slower and if you're not at a complete stop the most you'll have is a Pokemon every other block spawn.
I dislike the lack of remote passes
I can't do raids anymore
Feels like the CDs are just throwaway now. Also frick them for making Wimpod 400 candy
>Also frick them for making Wimpod 400 candy
Why in the hell is everything 400 candy? You'd think Meltan would be a one-off because it's only from the box, it only spawns them continuously, and it's easy to farm.
Now you have Swablu, Meltan, Stufful, Wailmer, Wimpod, Magikarp, and Noibat with Swablu and Meltan being the only viable ones out of all of those for gyms and PVP if I remember right. Not to mention outside of Swablu, Stufful, and Magikarp you virtually never find the others, and even Magikarp is rater than Swablu and Stufful for some unholy reason. I think I've seen one Noibat in like the one or two years since it's been out?
That's weird, I don't have that issue. I really only play while I'm driving now and I'm able to hit stops and gyms as long as I'm under 35 MPH.

Even if I'm on top of the stop and spinning it like mad it just says "Try again" unless I'm at a complete stop. Pokemon only spawn around me if I've stopped for more than 3+ seconds unless it's using the daily incense. Even though I'm at max bars for cellular sometimes it refuses to even load gyms and stops unless I'm at a complete stop as well. I don't get it. It didn't used to do this prior to Covid.
Not everyday, but Go for Catching and Showdown if I want to Battle are nice free alternatives since Mainline games have become so fricking shit.
Though with their terrible decisions, I've resorted to spoofing in Go now.
I remember playing this with my boomer friends who were all still living in a college town. We all kinda got our shit together at one time and, when this came out, this was really the last thing we all did together. Once summer ended, I moved and so did they. I haven't seen them since. 🙁
It is always entertaining to see normies and their fads.
Remember back in the 2000's when there were people on iShit laptops playing WOW at Starbucks using their more than terrible wifi? I could not even go online with my PSP using that connection.
I remember when people drone into this game at malls and the usual anecdote of the guy who went to look for a GEN1 pokemon at some serial killer backyard, fun times. Stay off my fricking yard
>tfw you'll never experience 2016 again >tfw you'll never experience a time like the height of pokemon go popularity
Just look at how comfy this shit was:
>Casey neistat
I know, he's a massive homosexual, but just look at the people in the video. Before covid, before Trump, before literally the entire world turned to shit. There was almost hope in this video that we could work together to tackle big challenges. It was ours and we'll never have it back.
it made millions touch grass
It's still going and is currently doing cross promotion with the pokemon tcg. It's just not being played by normies.
It was better when it only had Gen 1 and 2.
It was great fun for one month then it was dogshit. Sorry if you missed it out are still going
it's literally still one of the most popular mobile games of all time and millions still play it constantly.
they're even adding it to the PWC which will bring even more people to it
How many people did it kill?
>All I remember is a couple walked off a cliff playing it
The fricking clown world we live in man
But you play the game through the phone's camera? Even if you're staring at your phone you should still be able to SEE the cliff right?
You can play it like that, but the AR mode makes it more difficult to play. Even so, that is only when you're actually looking at a pokemon.
Natural selection in action
I remember reading about how people were taking trips to other countries to capture pokemon
http://pokemongodeathtracker.com/
22 dead, 61 injured
That seems incredibly low for how long the game has been out. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if more people were killed in the same timeframe by toaster electrocution.
>last updated two years
i guess the game died too
>Man died of heart attack moments after catching rare Pokemon Lapras
OH shit! its a SHINY! ACK***
Unironically the best pokemon game released since SuMo

gamefreak intentionally set the bar so low that a fricking pokemon themed chess skin would be one of the best games in the series' recent history
>Rapes your phone battery like there's no tomorrow
>from small town
>barely any pokemon

>went back to it 2 years later
>tons of pokemon suddenly everywhere

is it closing down or something?
Nah, it's still getting updates constantly. There was even some guy who just recently either got shot or held up playing it with his daughter so that gave it some news time again.
Did Nintendo sabotage this since it was more popular than the regular pokemon games.
Niantic sabotaged it themselves with their terrible decisions. They actually think Pokemon Go's success is because of their own doing and not because of the IP while wondering why every single other game they're making fails right from the get go.
what decisions?

You used to have to be closer to the damn things?
I only played for a little while earlier this year
Yes, you had to be right on it. The game was unplayable for a lot of people when they reverted it.

It's almost like the frickers are asking people to spoof at this point.
As someone who has played on and off since release and hated spoofers, I've joined them and never looked back. It's a much more rewarding experience.

its impossible not to look cringe while playing it outside
Niantic killed Ingress with prime and now they only use it to farm the community for new portal/stop locations, they can go frick themselves.
Is this still going? All I remember from this game was serial stalkers that appeared in the news and was playing by my uni's gay furry club
Call me back when you can build a team and battle your friends.
I know people who still play every day
Not everyday, but Go for Catching and Showdown if I want to Battle are nice free alternatives since Mainline games have become so fricking shit.

got back into it to play with family.
its fun!

I PLAY POKÉMON GO EV-ER-Y-DAY
Remember fricking Pokemon Go To The Polls?
My nana still plays it.
>required a smart phone to play
it's weird how it caught on honestly
thats significantly more common than gaming consoles
