    Nothing wrong with that.

It can be hacked for more games or other platforms, worth for controllers alone.

This. I got 200 games on it plus added custom backgrounds and few other things.

      yeah the controllers are great
you can plug them into a wiimote and use better emulators there

Yeah, that's how I emulate everything 4th gen and earlier since it outputs a native 240p signal. Plus it also plays all my GameCube and Wii games.

I literally got one in the mail today and finished putting more games on it. I will need to figure out how to do N64 and other console emus on it.

I prefer the psclassic mini. Better aesthetic. And you can hack it too thankfully because the original lineup of games suck ass.

That made it even more kino. I played Chrono Trigger and Super Metroid on my Wii with 240p output to my CRT with these SNES controllers.

Yes, if you acquire a bootleg version it already has an sd reader

Honestly, these things are great emulation boxes if you're not up for a more advanced system, setting up a retropie or mister. The SNES controller has enough buttons to cover many systems, and this thing with custom emulators on top can play virtually everything below the 5th gen.(PS1, N64, Saturn). Hell, it can even barely trudge into PS1 territory with the right games. From there, the Playstation Classic is arguably more bang for your buck and more cheap to find if you know where to look, but requires extra work or a thumbdrive in exchange for being able to play PS1 games perfectly fine with new emulators on top.

It was a marvel making Tenchu 2 and Crash Bandicoot run smooth as butter on the PSC versus the default emulator being busted as shit due to being an unconfigured PCSX Rearmed.

      >mister
MiSTer setup is literally moving a couple of files onto an SD card and plugging in a wifi dongle so it can auto-update itself. It's literally the most hassle free way you can possibly play games, I've had more difficulty setting up flashcarts.

        Anonymous

I mean, fair enough, but running a full MiSTer plus case ain't cheap, even for pre-builts. At that point you're either caught between
        >Enthusiast that knows what they're in for and is ready to pay more for quality
        or
        >Someone just wants to play old games and not have them play like garbage
And things like these little boxes work great for the latter since for the SNES case you just plug it into your PC, do a little power button trick and run an executable that lets you upload shit directly onto the system permanently. SD card readers like

        >Install sd reader
        >Add folders and hundreds of roms
        >It just works

Yes, if you acquire a bootleg version it already has an sd reader

would be beyond the average consumer's alley to install, but hey.

I spent like 250 bucks on mine, most of the parts from china, I bought a few SNAC adapters and the DE-10 locally. Expensive, sure. But show me any other emulation solution that lets me use original light guns.

The idea of an SD reader being beyond the comprehension of anyone interested in emulation is comical, nobody cares about morons who can do nothing but buy whatever is advertised to them.

I got two of these direct off of Ninty's website for less than msrp when they were offering either overstock (or refurb units?). Can't remember which but they came in plain unmarked packaging. Got one for myself and one for a buddy.

Honestly pretty great for the price I got it for because you can hook up a cheap usb stick and adaptor to put any SNES games you wanted on it and the controllers are fully worth the price alone. However any more than that is a ripoff for what is essentially a neat novelty, and the price skyrocketed eventually for ~~*collectors*~~. The mini consoles are a pretty neat novelty but if you have any other form of emulation that's going to surpass it whether it's a PC with TV out or a docked Deck which is what I use now.

Unless they use reproduction circuit boards or some shit, N64 emulation is still pretty shaky and NSO's was especially bad on release, that even vWii is more accurate in some cases. GCN would be easy enough if they can still repurpose Wii hardware (and of course, re-released controllers for Smash numerous times over), but Nintendo would probably insist on ports or remasters instead.

Seems better to just hook a PC up to the TV either some scrap shit from old parts and just do retro gaming or an actual decent PC and do basically ALL gaming with a controller on it.

Do they work on Dolphin if you plug them into your wii remote? I know how fricking redundant that is but I like the layout of the old SNES.
