Ganker has mixed opinions. People say Precursor Legacy was best because it was the first. People will shit on Jak II for being edgy and cashing in on GTA3 popularity but I think it's part of the charm. III continues to be edgy, the story is jank, but the guns are cool as shit and cruising around in the wastes is really fun.
You don't HAVE to play TPL to enjoy II but TPL is worth your time because the environments are really cool, art style is killer, and the platforming is fun
I have always had problems getting PS2 emulators to work with Jak so godspeed, Anon.

Not really. They're both very basic. 2 cuts out a lot of useless junk from the first game but is super short as a result (3/4 hours tops).
