Okay here's my game idea (don't steal)

Colony sim a bit like Oxygen not included/Rimworld but it's an ant colony. Unique aspects are you'd send groups out on Darkest Dungeon esque exhibitions to scavenge and explore. There would also be elements taken from 4x games, as control over your ants isn't direct so things like political policies and internal conflict happens, but there's also a tech race with other colonies like bees, wasps, fire ants ect. Also it would have 3 axises which would also make exploring and building not just left and right up and down. There would be a big focus on crisis mangement and exploration.

Also all the bugs would look like chibi anime girls. There's more to it but this is just a brief overview

Reminder that it's basically impossible to drown Ants, and dumping water in an anthole does pretty much nothing.

hes right but for the wrong reasons
its because the water will absorb into the soil, not because ants can swim or something lmao

what u should do it pour liquid wax or metal down an ant hole, that way once ur done u can dig out a sculpture of it
google ant nest sculptures or ant next casts and u can find a bunch of these done

Wax is going to harden way too quick. You need some kind of resin or molten metal.
Also they don't breathe like us, they have holes in their abdomen where the blood exchanges oxygen with the environment using a copper based chemical (as opposed to iron based hemoglobin).
The hairs on their abdomen create a thin sheet of air next to their body and enough gas exchange happens that they can survive for quite some time.
When katrina happened the fire ants would just form giant blobs and float around until they hit something solid and dry where the whole colony would start scouring the area for a new nest site.

Ants literally keep and make rooms to adjust the humidity of the colony. Those freaks are smarter than you think, I don't think a little rain is going to stop them.

This makes sense, otherwise they would die every time it rains a lot.

You were born too late, OP. Every idea you could possibly conceive has been done. All we can do now is remix and rehash old ideas, creating shallow imitations of the past.

There was this game on gog which I had pirated but don't remember jackshit about that was new and in a demo, years ago.
You basically played a colony of ants being examined by some scientists and you'd unlock new units by expanding your colony in the "hub", though sometimes the male scientist would go "let's test these little Black folk" and spam your hive with stuff like huntsman spiders nonstop, to see if your hive was good enough.
It was fun because it had different scenarios, in one for example you had night/day cycle and during the day everything was normal and you could milk aphids for nutrients but at night ladybugs would appear to eat you and the aphids do you had to choose to either stay in your hive and avoid confrontation or go defend the aphids so you'd have easy meals during the day.
