Aria is more polished/focused but SotN has better presentation and a larger scope. Both are good games. Portrait of Ruin is good too.

Not him, but what do you mean by this?
The soul mechanic is hashed out? I still need to play that one even thought I played SotN and RotN

I wouldn't mind being paid for talking about 25 year old games, how do I get started?

I love getting paid to tell people to emulate older games for free.

not sure why I would replay the same game again, after just beating it; maybe if it was a year after

You need to do Majora's Mask now.

this is on the list, are the dungeons better? while I did greatly enjoy them, sometimes they were just okay, especially the puzzle complexity
the thing I enjoyed the most about the game was dialogue and just having fun with the simple adventure/story, just learning the songs and talking to characters like malon etc were just pure fun

MM's dungeons are harder because they assume you played OoT, although there's less of them. Plus the decomp came out recently.

        Anonymous

MM is meant to be played with OoT fresh on your mind, as it acts on that knowledge from the previous game, do it.

Master Quest is trash as a mod of OoT, don't listen to people saying it isn't. It's the absolute laziest way to create a new edition of a game. It isn't even hard, just full of "lol, I put this thing in this other spot now".

        Anonymous

        You're gonna love MM then

        Anonymous

If MM had 2-3 more dungeons itd literally be an 11 out of 10, especially with the decomp. Where MM really exceeds is the amount of side content/quests that add more to the world of the game

    Mega Man X4
    Mega Man 8
    Mega Man Battle Network games
    Mega Man Zero is great
    Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
    Super Castlevania IV
    Castlevania Bloodlines
    Final Fantasy V
    Chrono Trigger
    Super Metroid
    Earthbound
Mario and Lugi Superstar games are very fun

A lot of old games are just plain good, people cared about what they made at that time...give what you can a try
I thought I was being jaded, but, old games are just better
I can play old games I wasn't even alive for and they blow new games out of the water

how in the world are you recommending mega man x 4 before 1-3?

X1 and 2 I get, but why would anyone recommend X3?

          whats your problem with 3?

            Anonymous

Not that guy, but X3 has a lot of problems. Really poor level design, the playable Zero stuff is tacked on at the last minute, the ride armor stuff sucks, the samples used for the guitar sound awful.

how in the world are you recommending mega man x 4 before 1-3?

X4 meanwhile has production value, new higher resolution sprites, anime cut scenes, (laughable) voice acting, superficially it improved which is enough for most people even if once you get passed the pretty visuals the game itself is fairly lacking.

It's the game with the most mass appeal and would likely appeal to Anon
I personally like every Mega Man X game except X7

sorry to sound combative but how in the ever loving frick is x4 more mass appeal than x1-3? that is absolute nonsense. x1 is one of the greatest video games of all time

          For ps1:
          Resident evil 2
Alundra 1 and alundra 2 too but 2 is not really a sequel more like an attempt at a playstation 3d zelda
Vagrant story and ff9 if you dont mind playing long rpgs
          Its obvious but MGS1

Quake and dungeon keeper are the only two 3D games from the 90s that still look good to me, the polygons are drawn differently, almost chaotically

Other than those two most 2D game from that era will still look good
