OP I used to play games on monochromatic screen , do you think I care about shiny vivid colors? as long as i'm enjoying myself I couldn't care less about visuals
This. Was it neat to see things even in a single color after the OG GB? Sure, but playing Pokémon Red on a GBC didn't make me like the game more than doing so on the OG GB.
And I certainly wouldn't have fucking bought it if I knew the GBC risked remembering GUI elements and becoming unusable. which would absolutely happen because I actually fucking PLAY GAMES unlike the the casuals clamouring for their casuaLED.
Yeah, that's what you're supposed to see, the image isn't faitful to reality, so you have to pick up the differences between both images, not how they look on your display.
Plus, your led monitor is displaying the blacks with a grey tint since it cannot shut down the backlight on a single pixel.
you are truly retarded. if I am viewing them on an LCD monitor, I cannot appreciate that one of them has deeper blacks because my black levels are shit. the difference between the top and the bottom is obviously visible but could easily be photoshopped, or just the same image under slightly different lighting conditions.
this is like saying "see top is brighter, lcd emits more nits so it is better for playing games, look at the image"
Nobody has ever argued that OLED doesn't have bright colors. The problem with OLED is that it has a shorter lifetime than any other display technology, it's the perfect goyware because you have to buy another very soon if you want to continue looking at a good display.
Idiot here. I just bought a big QLED tv for my mum because her 15 year old LCD one finally died. I could have paid 3x the price for an OLED one or .75x the price for a plasma one. Did I make the right call? The QLED one just looked like it had the best picture without being over a grand.
the reason the top looks so washed out is because the screen is garbage quality. What an OLED does is allow for actual full deep blacks. If you get an actual good screen, its gonna look like the bottom without it being an oled.
-mario
>good joke
>digits
I kneel
>digits

>I'm used to shit so I have no standards anymore and the colour of life means nothing to me
What a shitty argument, fuck off
No one cares about your American hardware goyslop troon
I'm on an LCD monitor, so they both look like LCDs to me
No they don't you retarded fuck, the bottom one doesn't have the grey bars on top and bottom.
But my LED monitor is displaying the blacks just fine on the bottom Deck, only the top looks grey

burn in isn't an issue anymore except for oled tvs and pc screens
>burn in
>he doesnt know
Phones burn in the status bar after about two years of use.
op is talking about the new steam deck or switch whichever it is
My phone is 4 years old and has no burn in
Just don't keep brightness over 20% bro
70-80 is fine
Why would you keep brightness over 30% anyway
don't accidently perform the summoning ritual bro!
My dad was eating in the living room and spilled hot, grrasy soup on the TV and now it has a burn-in in the shape of the dirty spot.
Did he fucking throw the soup on the tv or something?
they are using the tv as a table anon, stop being dumb
He put it on an ottoman and its leg broke off, launching his evening soup towards the TV.

burn-in isnt the reason oleds die
stay at 70% brightness and the screen won't degrade, who even plays with a screen at max brightness
My C1 I got used is still going strong at 4k 120hz and I don't plan on buying a new one until it fucking blows up
this
OLED is goymode maximus
they could throw a monthly subscription for just the panel and those retards would gladly pay it
do you guys think ick on 'eck poster is getting an oled upgrade or not
people here would unironically buy him one if he posted a paypal for it or something
more like people would buy him his old deck with a hueg markup just so they can lick his screen
'eck had a shit display even for LCD standards
does the oled deck do the compensation cycle like tvs when you turn the screen off? makes oled last forever but without it you get burn in fast.
You don't remember games in OLED and at the end of the day all you have are your memories
alzheimer anon...
It's true. Search your memories. Try to hold a 4K high settings image in mind. It's impossible. You remember in like 240p
>oversaturates your games
can't wait for the all the paypigs to complain about burn-in in 6 months
you've been saying that about the switch OLED since launch and im still waiting
yes but nintendo makes quality produtcs unlike valve who used the cheapest screen possible
it's the same screen
[X] Doubt
nigga the switch is a rebranded chink slop device
Them using fucked up lcds doesn't speak well about the quality of the oled.
me
why compare them in such dark environment? In normal cases, the difference looks much smaller.
the reason the top looks so washed out is because the screen is garbage quality. What an OLED does is allow for actual full deep blacks. If you get an actual good screen, its gonna look like the bottom without it being an oled.
why are you guys so obsessed with blacks
OLED being a downgrade from LCD is a take i only see from contrarians here and it's always for factually wrong reasons
If you haven't seen oled irl it's just impossible to explain how it looks
it looks more red than blue, big deal
>oled burn in
>le crt maymay
>israelites
>trannies
there, the average Ganker thread about monitors
You can adjust the color balance on the Steam Deck OLED right? Because in all the footage I've seen, they have the red tuned up TOO high.
I wonder how difficult it will be to take a OLED 'eck screen and put it on a LCD 'eck
you can't they have different screen dimensions and compeltely different internals
connector is different unfortunately
If I want a nice display, I'd just dock it on the TV
Sincerely hope someone makes an aftermarket screen for the OG Deck, I don't feel like selling mine and starting over
even just a higher quality IPS would be groovy honestly.
There is one on the market, but actual support for it seems suspect from what I've seen.
The DeckHD right? I don't see 1200p as a winning proposition honestly, I'd want the replacement to be the same res.
>no VRR, 90hz instead of 120hz
feels like a rushed product
It's obvious they are saving that for the Steam Deck 2 so they can list them as selling points.
Might want to use a game that does not look like shit and actually colorful.
is 1tb oled really that bad compared to 512gb oled?
muh etched muh big black colors
buy a switch
