>One of the latest gaming controversies is complaining about a new game only running at 30fps on console
Literally WHY haven't you people built a gaming PC yet? You do not have to deal with 30fps caps for PS4 games pretending to be PS5 games. Literally WHY haven't you made the switch yet?
they are all ignorants and poorgays
My 11 year old PC still perfectly fine
>3930k
>16GB RAM
>1070ti
>240gb SSD
>2TB SSD
>PC of theseus
none of those parts are 11 years old
>3930k 2011
>motherboard and RAM 2011
>SSD and HDD from 2011
>GPU from 2017
Ye bro
Nice
>3730k
>1070ti
>16gb of 667mhz ram
>500gb HDD
>1tb HDD
this, especially the ignorant part, literally anyone not living in a third world shithole can build a pc by getting a part time job and saving for a month, console gaming ends up costing more in the long run due to the paid online subscriptions and how expensive games are on consoles
As someone who got a used 6th gen i7 Dell Optiplex for like $200 locally, a 1070ti for about $130 from ebay, and an off-brand case and a Corsair PSU on discount from a local store for like $50, and had the store disassemble the Optiplex and reassemble it in the new case - in total, under $400, being a consolegay due to poorhomosexualry is actually just being moronic.
Hell, I paid for the Optiplex and parts in 12 card installments with no added interests, and called the bank to split my ebay payment too, though they only offered 6 for that one.
>Literally WHY haven't you people built a gaming PC yet?
I did. Frick off
I can't wait to pirate Gotham Knights and play it at 120fps to dab on consolegays
wouldnt be surprised if its locked on pc too
they advertised an unlocked framerate on PC moron
>Dude, PC gaming is cheap in the long ru-
Amazing amount of knowledge to find a ripoff for every possible category in pcpartpicker. Or you just sorted by most expensive
>Quadro RTX 8000
uuuuuuuuuh
I'm pretty sure you can get that exact SSD for like $4500 on Amazon right now
I mean im a pc gamer but I dont understand people who say "pc is cheaper in the long run" but then go out and buy gpus as soon as they come out and constantly buy new keyboards mouses and other shit all the time
Most people don't do that though
hahaha
>64 core processor
>thread ripper
Who the frick would do this?
Purchased a 3700G for like $300 and its perfectly fine for gaming.
Did you ignore the 2 overpriced ssds and the network and sound cards for a mobo that already has that?
did you ignore the fact that it's a dumb meme pic purposely picking the most expensive nonsense imaginable?
i think that was anon's point
Will this run crysis?
on medium
>$84 thermal paste
Excellent bait anon
imagine being so poor you can't afford a measly $100k
I know it's a shitpost, but he makes a decent point. You don't need to go out, do research, and find good deals on each individual component to play games on console, and systems integrators try to rip you off at every turn.
It's true, you can just let the console makers rip you off on all their games instead
yeah, omw buying a 4090
You will not need anything more powerful than a 3060TI for the next 4+ years
Cope
The 1060 is still on the recommended video card specs of every new pc AAA release.
I wouldn't even consider it as a gaming pc if it didn't have a RTX3070 or similar
3090 is the bare minimum
I have a poorgay PC (i5-4460, R9 280, 8GB DDR3 ram).
Literally don't care. Frick pc fats for creating so much electronic waste
I own a top tier pc, and still cap everything at 30fps, it looks weird if it's any higher
mental illness
literal moronation
I now support euthanasia
The generalized incompetence of the developers ends up affecting the PCs as well. I played Elden Ring at 60 fps with frame pacing problems the whole game, even though my PC is capable of running the game at 150+fps. To try to solve the horrible performance of the game, you need to modify it by removing the shitty frame cap but surprise surprise... it will increase the input lag instead of decreasing it as it normally does.
Elden Ring isn't a unique case. It's rarer for me to find a game that works as it should than the other way around. Problems with frame pacing, stutters, judders and every possible and imaginable kind of image deterioration is the normal today even on decent PCs.
I wonder when will FromSoft switch to Unreal engine
but all that shit was fixed already
Why spend 1000 bucks or more on a troony box when I can get one for like 300?
I people not want spend $1,000 USD for deal with MS Windows bullshit, by example my gaming pc show blue screens and was because the Bluetooth driver need a update for 22H2 (w10)
In console there aren't drivers or blue screens
>radiator placed at the front
what a moron
nothing wrong with that. The only problem is that the tubs are at the top and not the bottom.
recommended specs don't mean jack shit. They never have and never will.
If the developer doesn't post a settings chart with resolution/framerate targets and at least 4 CPU/GPU combos to hit that target (like pic related) then you can learn literally nothing from "recommended specs."
here's another example of that.
I did but I don't care for any of the latest goyslop, especially for upgrades.
Have a GTX 1080 and this shit is still carrying me even to this day.
>Goyslop
Dilate and seethe.
What am I gonna play, Anon?
>I only enjoy playing old games which my card can play
>all newer games which my card can't play are shit
fricking flatearthers
>have good pc
>don't want to play games
Because computers are for working. Owning a tower radiator with Wincucks installed on it so you can play 2D indie games at 900 frames per second screams arrested development, or worse yet, unemployment.
Computers are really cool devices, but if your personal computer isn't focused entirely on performance, security and reliability with a side of time killing then you're the shining example of everything wrong with society.
>I haven't got a 4090. The post.
So you're poor and still playing on a PS4, I take it?
>enjoying things is bad
lol, lmao
very based I've also got those specs and am also upgrading to 4090.
For me, if someone has a computer but still buys a console despite it doing exactly what your computer can do, it's sign of mindless consumerism and a shining example of everything that's wrong with society. It's much more efficient to have one computer that does everything over having 15 specialized, branded devices; that's just pointless e-waste.
SSDs are more important to me than graphics. Until PCI 4.0 drives become minimum requirement for games I do not give a single shit about PC gaming. There's a reason you haven't gotten Ratchet ported yet and won't for a long time.
>ne of the latest gaming controversies is complaining about a new game only running at 30fps on console
That guy got clowned out the door, I went to go look at the tweet to see if it was a circlejerk and he deleted his account.
Is it a shitty time to buy a 3060ti?
Currently on a 580 and it just lugs in everything.
Looking to stay nvidia for AI stuff. So no 6700 or whatever the AMD card is.
Nah, it's a good time to buy a 3060TI. Everyone is desperately trying to get rid of the stock of those so they can shill 4080s and 4090s
Seems about right. Just leery about buying a used one incase it was cooked in a mining farm
Pc gaming is the ultimate meme. Costs a shit load of money for computer parts, you don't know whether a game is going to work correctly with your computer hardware, you can't play from your couch. The console experience is a million times better for almost all genres of games. If you like spreadsheet simulators I guess pc might be the platform for you.
>you can't play from your couch
Steam's big picture mode and an xbox controller, plenty of long HDMI cables out there
I'm glad consoles allow the mentally moronic to still play games
>you can't play from your couch
you must still be living in 2008 or something
>Costs a shit load of money for computer parts
not a problem for anyone with a job
>shit tonne of money
Not if you're smart about it. Don't forget Consoles have a year sub as well.
>don't know if the game is going to work correctly with your hardware
Maybe 25-30 years ago. The past 20 years has been a breeze.
>can't play from your couch
But you can
>console experience is better for all genres of games
Lol. Movie games I can watch on YouTube? PS5 has 4 exclusives, lmao.
>spreadsheet simulators
What game needs this?
720p/900p
>ARC A380
>RX 6400
>RX 6500 XT
1080p
>RTX 3050
>RX 6600
>ARC A750
>ARC A770
>RX 6600 XT
>RX 6650 XT
>RTX 3060
1440p
>RTX 3060 Ti
>RX 6700
>RX 6700 XT
>RTX 3070
>RX 6750 XT
>RTX 3070 Ti
4K
>RX 6800
>RX 6800 XT
>RTX 3080
>RTX 3080 Ti
>RX 6900 XT
>RTX 3090
>RTX 3090 Ti
>RX 6950 XT
>RTX 4090
I play literally everything at 4K on a 3070, albeit with a few mostly unnoticeable settings turned down for super demanding stuff like Cyberpunk. I don't get why people freak out about not being able to run 4K unless you have a 4090 or something.
any card with 256 bit bus width should be able to run 4k with ease, with the exception of RDNA2 cards since these have a large L3 cache. If you can stomach 4k games running at low settings, a 3060 Ti should be fine
>3080
>4k
I have a 3080 and I still only get 60-80 fps (with lows in the 50s) at 1440p with raytracing on in Cyberpunk
I meant 4k with ray tracing turned off
I have an RTX 2060 but all I do is play jap console ports, fighting games, and emulation
Wish PCs could return to being a plastic box with no flaire at all
Frick transparent shit, frick rgb shit, frick gaymers
You can build one like that though? Mine is just a black box with no lights.
I'm a college dropout.... in turd-steaming third world shithole, go figures.
It's a box that plays digital toys. Most people just don't take their entertainment that seriously
The real difference between PC and consoles, and the only really relevant one, is that PC is an open platform while consoles are not.
For those who do not understand the difference, know that the Switch has a web browser, but the user does not have fricking access to it (yeah, Nintendo decided they should not let users use the browser), it's only accessed at certain times, such as in some games that have online manuals.
On open platforms you can have almost total control, depending on your operating system. You can edit the games you have purchased bit by bit. You can fricking copy a game on some media and now you have two games... This kind of thing completely changes the relationship between the consumer and the games and this is why Steam was born on PCs and not on consoles, for example. Steam was a successful way to convince players to pay for games even though they can easily get them for free on their open platforms.
many people are poor and building a PC is both too expensive and too inconvenient for people who are tech illiterate despite how easy it is to build a PC
>Literally WHY haven't you people built a gaming PC yet?
I did. Also have a Deck, Switch and PS5
glad i didn't buy a dercuck case
I have a 3070 but modern PC gaming enrages me.
Id rather play a next gen console game at 30fps than having max settings Metro Exodus dip below 60 on max graphics at 1080p on PC
I built a PC when this board was unironically shilling that "human eye can only see" bullshit. Even my friends said "the human eye can only see" Everyone on this board is a moronic Black person that can't talk about anything not spoon fed to them. Even the people in this thread right now were most likely gigantic homosexuals until Linus Sex Tips came out. Why don't you all admit that you are all homosexuals and no one cares what you do. Just admit it and stop posting.
Have an old PC lying around that I want to turn into a linux machine (or maybe even test Windows 11). I think either the GPU or the PSU is out because it shuts off after turning it on, so I plan on replacing both of those.
Specs:
>i7 920
>GTX 285
>850 W PSU
>6 GB RAM
Think I can upgrade to i7 930 with the current motherboard. Want to upgrade GPU to GTX 1050. Will test the current PSU, if it still doesn't boot all the way, I'll replace it. Can probably upgrade to 12 GB RAM if I remember correctly.
When I checked online, it looks like the i7 930 bottlenecks the GTX 1050, and it wants me to downgrade to a 400-series or AMD-equivalent to remove the bottleneck. Would it make sense to just go with the 1050 anyway if I want the newer technology even if the card is getting bottlenecked by like 36%? I've never used AMD which is supposed to be better for linux, but I heard the nvidia drivers are getting better, or at least more open for linux devs to work with it. I like nvidia's PhysX stuff in games like Borderlands 2, Arkham City, and Mirror's Edge, so I'd like to stick with nvidia if possible.
Sorry i'm not a troony that gets easily impressed by blinking RGayB lighting
To me, consoles are gaming. They have a more interesting history and we’ve been playing some of the most legendary games to come out of the medium for decades because console gaming is also Japanese gaming. Meanwhile all pcgays have played is the same tired shit like Quake and Diablo 2.
Ask a pc gaming enthusiast what their favorite games are and you usually here the same shit. Ask a console gaming enthusiast what their favorite games are and you get hundreds of different answers
>Literally WHY haven't you people built a gaming PC yet?
I have. I also ordered a 4090.
>I also ordered a 4090
Just what are you gonna do with all that power?
>1080ti + i7-8700k
>set for life
feels good man
Because it's too expensive.
I can get a ps5. Runs 4k 120. No bullshit.
>I can get a ps5. Runs 4k 120. No bullshit.
It can't even run something basic like astrobot at 4k/120. Literal moron
4k
120
No bullshit.
No need to tweak settings, no need to upgrade graphics card.
4k
120
For 7+ years lifespan..
Select game.
Press play.
No bullshit.
But it's objectively not at 120fps
>i7-11700K
>3080
>32GB RAM
>1TB SSD
Is it bad that I kind of want to upgrade to a 4090....I'd need a new PSU though
>Is it bad that I kind of want to upgrade to a 4090
I have ordered a 4090 despite also having a 3080. I think alot of people are doing this so don't feel too bad about it.
Yes it's bad, you should at least wait to see if the 50xx series is as large a leap
