It's actually a perfectly fine argument towards the statement given.
Still better than Dragon Ball.
Says "Still better than Dragon Ball." and refuses to elaborate further.
>Still better than Dragon Ball.
No. No it's really not.
This post denies the statement while refusing to elaborate further.
The original post in the chain has the duty of initial elaboration if it wants a more elaborate response beyond basic denial of statements.
I can not tell you where you're wrong if you don't say HOW the other thing is worse. It's a blanket statement and thus I can only give you a general blanket statement in return based on my general knowledge of both franchises artstyles.
"Filtered" is a buzzword response given by morons who have nothing to say, so you get a buzzword response in turn.

But Dragonball DOES have a better art style than One Piece.
Wanted to buy it but going through Steam reviews and seeing posts like about the lack of difficulty made me hold off. Shame, guess I'll wait till they patch in a hard mode (which probably wont be much better if its just inflated stats) or someone mods it.

Did this become a meme and are you homosexuals trolling? There is a massive difficulty spike once you beat the tutorial and get to the desert. Why are morons leaving "reviews" after playing for two hours?
Cause that's already half the playtime, the rest is cutscenes and dialogue. This game is the same fricking jokecas that Fairy Tail RPG: zero substance, all window dressing.
Not trolling, its just what I've been seeing around and its believable since anime-games tend to be on the easier side to pander to their wider audiences.
Since you sound like you've played the game a lot, what's the actual difficulty spike like? Is it just higher hp/damage from enemies or do the mobs/bosses actually have better AI / gimmicks. Genuine question btw, im still considering getting the game and the only good feedback i ever see is from coomers or one piece fans.
Once I got to the desert it took 30 turns to beat two mini boss lizards. Random mobs are killable but if you do Auto-Battle and your chars take too much damage they use up all your valuable food and items so auto mode is not viable. Next mini boss in the same desert was the banana crocodile almost wiped my whole party and I barely beat him despite using all intended game mechanics. And it's just the beginning of the area. Granted, I didn't grind and mostly avoided enemies so far but I feel like I should grind to progress. People who are saying you one hit everything are just wrong, it only applies to the start of the game.
I just got to Rainbase, so I'm just a bit ahead of you.
I can assure everyone here that you literally just suck at the game. I have yet to ever fall bellow 50% hp on any of my characters. And Jesus Christ man, 30 turns!?
Literally just watch out for type advantage, swap your party properly, you have Nami's Mirage Tempo and Usopp's Smoke Start to make enemies unable to harm you.
There was a shop in the desert that you could buy a ton of Atk rings from, I just filled Luffy up with those and he's killing everything even with disadvantage. I can also assure you I'm not even grinding or using items or food buffs.
I went a different route (I'm at the mausoleum right now) and bought the 1 million berri defense accessory to use on Luffy. There's a similar one for guts in the mausoleum, so now normal enemies deal one damage and bosses have dealt right around a hundred without debuffing. He's still got room for two of those line attack rings, too. Zoro and Nami got loaded up with attack and my best HP accessory and have done serious work. I use the formation that puts Luffy with strong enemies and basically have him whittle them down while they do chip damage in return.
I'll see how well this does against Crocodile in a bit. Saw some posts on here that mentioned him pushing their shit in so I'm curious how well this defensive stats stacking will work out for me.

Well, the Croc fight was a bit tougher than expected, but still manageable. He was capable of two shotting anyone who wasn't my bulked up Luffy, though Sanji could take three due to type advantage unless one of the attacks was the frickhueg AoE. This was at level 27ish for the first fight and 28/29 for the second. Never did any grinding, just fought whatever was on the way and made sure to try and get the battle bonuses whenever they popped up. Camp bonus helps for extra XP as well. Word of advice for anyone who hasn't fought him: Make the food that heals everyone for 1k and buffs defensive stats. It'll be a tremendous help for his AoE spam.

The bosses are still tough after him but the game gives you more options so it gets easier. You get more accessory slots and you can upgrade accessories by combining them together. So I bought all the attack accessories and merged them with each other. So my Luffy hits bosses for 3-4k damage each but he almost gets one shotted too.

Anonymous
Yeah, I basically threw every grey accessory with attack on it onto all the open slots I had on his gear. All the leftover attack accessories I had went onto Nami's stuff since her full screen attack is so damned good. Not quite sure how I want to build accessories in the future, thinking about making each character one or two that has defense, guts, HP, and either attack or some other beneficial buff like those type resistances. After that I'll make ones suited solely to their strengths.
Not that anon, been casually fighting every enemy I've come across and I'm pretty far into the Alabasta area.
Enemies start tanking multiple hits so you need to switch up and use techs more commonly but there's save points everywhere that fully restore your HP and I still haven't felt a need to use items, use passive buffs from cooking or optimize my gear. It's like the point in Pokemon you need to start switching out to take advantage of type weaknesses instead of coasting on your level 20 starter, it's not the easiest rpg I've played but it's hardly demanding. The Banana Gator boss almost killed Zoro on me while I was focused on his minions but you can trade a character out for Chopper at any time and he's got a heal move you can spam every other turn.
I think the lack difficulty options is mostly frustrating because Ilca also worked on DQXI and that game handled them perfectly, and OP Odyssey definitely looks and feels similar enough for the absence to be noticeable.
its not hard but its also not trivially easy
if u try to just click whatever and don't put good accessories on u will die but if you are playing the game properly, using the mechanics then it wont be hard
difficulty pretty reasonable if ur competent at games, might take a while if ur bad, but its definitely not a difficult game
Just beat Crocodile+ at the end of Alabastra and the game did show it's fangs for a second there during the bossfight when he was cranking out 1k+ AoE damage per full turn with bleed on top. Bat soup carried that fight. I also might have been underleveled as I went in at 23-24.
I enjoy OP too but despite being in the final saga Oda is still being a fricking prick by being vague as frick with reveals (Oh, you mean THAT island?!!?) type of shit and since Punk Hazard, One Piece went from being about a fun adventure to being a streamlined event because Luffy decided to partner up with Law and this shit lasted almost an entire decade building up to Wano which ended up being a frick huge disappointment because Oda just had to wank off grorious Nippon. It's like he tried to make a magnum opus for all of Japan to love but it just ended up falling flat because he lost track of what made people love OP in the first place.
Nah nerf to character strength and especially new marineford was meh
Luffy even with his crew could not change the outcome (because his nakama were fodder level I suppose) and Ace has died trading hits with Akainu like a moron instead of some sort of sacrifice
It would be better if it was just some sort of reskinned canon story
is this supposed to be a what-if story or something? and ace died because he was a moron, he and luffy would have made a clean getaway if he didn't let himself get baited by akainu talking shit about whitebeard
Its a non-canon story where the SHs go through memory worlds while they're shipwrecked on an island, but not everything plays out the same way it did because "Memories are sometimes foggy" so there are alot of what ifs.
>instead of actually having its own story it just repeats the same shit you've seen a billion times >completely braindead easy boring combat
how old are you
it's not. One Piece is a bunch of unrelated short stories on different islands and most of them are painfully generic. The few good bits are between mountains of boring slog and the series has been shit ever since the timeskip. Oda retconned Luffy into being a chosen one with the most powerful devil fruit in the world, he has no idea what the frick he's doing.
Everyone talks it up though. I don't hear that same level of praise for Naruto or Academia.
There has to be something to it because the way the emotional payoffs are talked about, it's as if they're masterfully written.
They make several arcs sound like they're on part with the end of Chimera Ant or Brotherhood.
>Brotherhood
Found the normie. Also One Piece was at its peak when Naruto was in free fall, and My Hero Macadamia is a worse Naruto so that should tell you all you need to know.
>Skip the filler
I wish I could say I understood the reason for this. OP filler is generally pretty good. Especially the arcs between canon arcs. The way the world works and the premise of them traveling make it fit quite well and almost not even feel like filler. G8 is a perfect example. This is especially true if you watched the anime before/instead of reading the manga to know it was filler in the first place.
whole cake
literally like 250 episodes after fishman where you are
i mean dressrosa is ok but its infamous for how slow the anime goes (like 0.8 of a manga chapter per episode)
I will never understand find the 1000 episode a hard barrier of entry.
Just watch it at your own pase.
Once you're caught up you have to wait 7 days for a single episode, there's no rush.
This
I started reading OP in 2016 and I've only just finished Dressrosa due to taking it at my own pace. I probably shouldn't have taken multi-year breaks between arcs but oh well, Ive never felt burnt out and I know theres no ending in sight so I dont feel the need to be caught up anytime soon. My enjoyment of the series has been rather consistent aside from middling arcs like Fishman Island and, personally, Skypiea. I couldn't imagine enjoying it nearly as much had I binged it all in a year or so.
The stretching in One Piece can't be stated enough. It's ridiculous and shouldn't be acceptable. Characters will run for 6 hours before any action happens.
I keep waiting for them to get to Gear 5 so I can see if they frick it up or not but at the glacial pace of the anime they probably won't until the end of the year.
>At least Film RED was good
Jesus christ how tasteless can you be to have enjoyed that shitshow.
The villain changes her mind regarding her plan and ideology every 5 minutes of the movie. She is also so stupid. First of all, her win condition was to die while people are trapped inside, so she decided to eat the mushroom that keeps her awake and that ultimately kills her after some hours. For what fricking purpose? Just have a nice day, idk.
Then, there's also how the only way she could lose is if she summoned that music demon, so what did she do? She summoned the fricking music demon. What a fricking moron.
And then there's the Shanks hypocrisy. He didn't take Luffy to the seas because he was a child... At the same time, he raised a daughter on his ship. Bravo.
Last not least look at the movie's dynamic. Katakuri appears in TWO 5-second scenes. One where he says "I'm going to help sis", and in the second scene he randomly appears to join a chain attack. What a fricking mess, they couldn't even do fanservice right. Characters barely interact with each other and barely have any meaningful scenes. Luffy himself spends the first hour of the movie rolling around in barth's shield. Like, why even put Luffy in that island if you won't let him participate.
Tot wasn't Uta's win condition, anon. They made it really clear it was just the only way they'd have a fighting chance is by cornering her in the dream so she would summon it. Her plan never changed, and she needed to stay awake to sing so she could drag more people in. The mushrooms were are driving her insane. Shanks considered her a daughter and she was with them before he even met Luffy and was gone when Shanks visited Luffy again. Super Luffy Ball was moreso to illustrate Luffy and Uta's relationship in the past and how he'd let his emotions get the best of him unless literally physically restrained. There wasn't much for most of the cast to do though, you are right there.

>Tot wasn't Uta's win condition, anon. They made it really clear it was just the only way they'd have a fighting chance is by cornering her in the dream so she would summon it
That's the thing, Uta has no reason to defend herself. If she dies, she wins. On the other hand, summoning Tot almost guarantees her to lose, because it gives people a way out of her ability. She had no reason to summon Tot.
>she needed to stay awake to sing so she could drag more people in
She wasn't "dragging more people in" as the movie went on, 99% of the people she snatched were dragged in instantly. She wasn't even singing after some point, just dealing with the marines and with Shanks.
>Shanks considered her a daughter and she was with them before he even met Luffy and was gone when Shanks visited Luffy again
That's the thing. Shanks found a baby and decided to personally raise her on his ship, despite the fact he would later refuse to take a 10 year-old boy with a devil fruit on his ship. It makes no sense at all. And there was a point when Shanks would take Uta on adventures, but not Luffy, so Shanks did hold these conflicting ideas simultaneously.
The most obvious solution would be to give Uta for someone else to raise, just like Garp did with Luffy.

NTA but the whole >shanks would later refuse to take a 10 year-old boy with a devil fruit on his ship.
is because at that point Shanks already knew Luffy was going to be a big player due to the whole "Will of D." shenanigans going on. He also may/may not know about the real name of the Devil Fruity Luffy ate which would just further solidify the reason Shanks would never want Luffy in his crew.
Anonymous
I think Shanks knew something cause he even got sloppy enough to get his arm ripped by a sea king, he knows something about both Luffy and his Devil Fruit, what isnt clear yet is if he wanted the DF for himself or he knew Luffy would eat it
>Jesus christ how tasteless can you be
He has more taste than you, fricking homosexual. You paid for a Ganker pass. You have no right to lecture anyone on taste.
>Eiichiro Oda designs a bunch of cool ass monsters for a new video game >They make it a bland JRPG where you have to fight DA PAST again instead of something comparable to Monster Hunter
Yeah, I know what sells. No, I'm not pleased.
If they made a wan piss game without the focus being on all the popular characters and just the strawhats fricking around in unknown places for the whole game, people would be big mad that you cant link up with ace, raw or vivi or whoever else. It's basic anime game 101.
Idk...like 3? maybe 4?
One Piece WILL NEVER have a good game.
Closest thing we got was this.
(Pirate warriors is ok but it's the same shit since the first game with nothing new.)
One Piece Unlimited series which is like 5 games
One Piece World Seeker kinda but it's got this really boring open world segment too.
If it's not a time shenanigan thing, it's just retelling the story. And that's fine, but god damn there's no incentive to go beyond the safest of game design. And there's just as little incentive for me to get this game when it isn't in a bargain bin.
I remember seeing the reveal trailer end with Vivi or whatever and thinking "Of course, they'll have to asspull the SH losing all their powers and attacks again...just like in pretty much all the other games".
To be fair, I do like the idea Odyssey has where it's them sorta reliving the past instead of random pieces of their past popping in so the game can have you fight someone.
Like, seeing Merry again, the crew being at marineford, stuff like that is fanservice-y but neat to see.
I think the big issue is One Piece is that like most other anime it's stuck with Bamco and I don't think they want to put much budget into their licensed anime games. Also while the One Piece world is vast it's also unfinished and operates under strict rules that make a game with free ocean travel hard. I do hope once One Piece finishes then maybe we can get a more ambitious game.
We're in the final arc moron. Do you even read it?

>>What is Unlimited Cruise Red
Cute looking, very bland OP game that doesn't hold a candle to the actual Unlimited Cruise games. >>What is World Seeker
A literal turd.
It's not.
I PIRATED the game and It's not fricking kino at all.
Everything about is basic and trash. >Original costumes that everyone love are pre-order bonus >Only 4 arcs (each zone is huge and fleshed out but it still feels dissapointing having to experience the same 4 climax arcs without any build up.) >Chopper only transforms into big muscle arm point and none of the other forms >Franky doesn't have his whacky hairstyles >Everyone has ONE pre-TS costume...except franky cus too hard. >No cowboy robin, no sleeveless shirt Nami, no Exorcist ussop, no yellow jacket Zoro, No hawaii Sanji. Not even alabasta costumes.
The ABSOLUTE LACK OF FANSERVICE.
I like the idea of having multiple battles happening at the same time with different groups but it's poorly implemented and Nami COMPLETELY BREAKS THE GAME
Want to unlock easy(er) mode?
Just pick Nami >Gets to attack from any distance >Can NUKE EVERY SINGLE ENEMY AT ONCE
Robin?
FRICKING USELESS.
>Chopper only transforms into big muscle arm point and none of the other forms
This is fricking bullshit. Why does Chopper always get shafted? In Pirate Warriors it's Kungfu Point for 90% of his moveset.
>PW4 puts a big focus on transformations and giant characters >Chopper doesn't get any
Yes, I know the answer is they don't want to spend that much effort on a minor character like Chopper, shut up.
To be fair, post time-skip Chopper got the shortest end of the stick imaginable and even with having more control over his transformations now he uses Kungfu Point 90% of the time too.
No since it only covers four arcs (Alabasta, Water 7, Marineford and Dressrosa), skipping a lot of great arcs and important setup in-between them, missing out entirely on the last 7 years of manga content and doing a poor job actually retelling the stories from the perspective of someone going in blind. The game's just a series of "remember this?" moments which will fall flat if you don't, in fact, remember them.
>picking the game is a good idea to catch up ?
lolno.
Go play Pirate Warriors 3 and watch the anime or read the manga from Dressrosa onwards if you want to catch up.
Why Dressrosa even though PW3 adapts it? Because the last few bits of that arc in PW3 are non-canon, as the game was still being made before the Dressrosa Arc ended.
im almost done with Alabaster region took like 16 hours to get to the casino, I hate how this game is just fetch quests and dialogue. THere's no way to speed it up and if you go the opposite direction the game forces you to a path. Not a very pirate experience
>highly anticipated character gets revealed as 7 different characters in order to appease any and all expectations
I would've honestly been fine with moronic Einstein but I like what we got. Shaka and Lilith are my favorites but I'd fugg the poop machine
>only read the manga because I knew back then watching 1000+ episodes is a futile effort as a wagie >game made me interested with the anime for more animated mugiwara crew
Goddammit
Still hate the fact that she's got no abs or any muscle tone, despite being gladiatorial warrior.
Sure she's all about deflection and dodges, but you still get some tone from it when doing it for years.
No he doesn't, he uses his awakened rubber abilities in wacky waya that are drawn in a loony tunes style. It's still based, but he's not warping reality or anything
Are we going to nitpick that part when you could use him literally warping the solid ground like a musty rug?

Creating something out of nothing is more "warpy" than flopping the already existing flooring.
Besides, it's not that unique when Inazuma did it with his scissor hands, cutting the floor and wrapping it around stairs tight enough to seal away gas.

Did you miss how awakenings work?

can i play this as someone whos never watched the show? Is this a recap or an entirely new story? I'm interested cause I'm just coming off DQ11 which was absolute kino and this looks similar to that.
I never watched or read One Piece and haven not had any issues understanding whats going on.given I knew before hand at least who the characters were and a bit of their backstory simply because of how popular One Piece is.
Im having a good time playing this game, yea its easy and yea I'll admit I hate it when turn based games have 0 strategy involved. But I would still rather play this game than half of the crap being released nowadays.
I don't mind easy as long as it has fun abilities and a good looking world.
>can i play this as someone whos never watched the show?
Can you? Yes, just like you can try to acquire a tiger pet.
Should you? No, you shouldn't.
>Is this a recap or an entirely new story?
The latter, with a tiny bit of the former. It's definitely not a "baby's first OP experience".
Like I suggested someone else above, if you want a videogame recap of OP, go play Pirate Warriors 3 and then either watch the anime or read the manga starting from Dressrosa Arc.
thanks for the advice, just wish that game was on sale. $40 currently on Steam, haven't checked Switch yet.

Definitely don't buy it though. They were very lazy with this game even if it's not that bad, so I recommend you just pirate.
Imagine charging extra for costumes that don't even show up half the time.
as a one piece fan im really enjoying it, only complaint is how they completely shit up the story in the memory worlds, Alabasta was just awful even when you expect it to be trimmed in these sorts of games.
otherwise, they have the crew interactions down pat, i like the turn based gameplay, and its really nice to just explore the areas, which often have a lot of stuff to find hidden around. water7 is so comfy bros
Burning Blood is kino. morons complain about it because it's not "balanced" and because they don't know how to use the combos but what they don't realize is that Burning Blood not being balanced and each character having their own playstyle is the appeal of the game.
Loaded it up and instantly felt the need to go and jerk off to that doujin where giantess Robin fuses her giant wiener to Nami so they're both part of one giant wiener to frick that mermaid
Do the playable characters include people outside of the mugiwaras? To be more direct, can I recruit almost any character to my team? Like Mihawk, Crocodile, etc?
Can you make them talk American or do you have to read subtitles and listen to Nipspeak?
no
tbh the answer to most of the questions people make about "can i do x thing" or "is there x thing" can be answered with no and that says a lot about the game
>Chopper’s power is to turn into a bunch of cool specialist forms mid combat to minmax attacks >every video game has him do the absolute bare minimum of transforming so the devs don’t have to make more then 3 models
I hate them so fricking much. It’s bad enough that he does frick all in the manga any more but then he doesn’t do dick in the games either. Remember Unlimited Adventure? >turns into his true form when you run >uses Heavy Point for a bunch of attacks >eat a rumble ball to do attacks with Arm and Horn point >guarding activates Guard point AND jumping after eating a rumble ball activates Jump point AND THIS IS THE ONLY TIME YOU EVER SEE THEM >can turn into Monster Point if you get KOd after eating a Rumble Ball
vs now >Brain Point ONLY >running around as Chopper just has him run faster, no run point >every single attack is just Arm Point. Didn’t even include post-TS forms at all
I used to like One Piece because it wasn't like Naruto but then he went Super Saiyan kaioken in Ennies Lobby and shitstains like Law started appearing, you look at the manga nowadays and it's the worst fricking panneled shonen nightmare ever, and the anime finally looks like it has some budget but it's literal dragon ball shit with powering up auras and crap, literally turning on rainbow colored auras and flying through the air
Anon, Gear 5 has Luffy turn into a fricking Looney Tunes character. There are Shonengays eternally buttblasted that the awakened form of the Gum Gum is a wacky goofball whose very presence makes other people's physiologies capable of pop out eyeballs
I've seen it. If only this wasn't after a decade of him doing moronic-looking serious transformations and garbage like haki tacked onto the story. Those shonengays are only buttblasted because years of "MUH HAKI!!!!" bred them into liking the series. It's also on a manga that nowadays looks like squibbly garbage with a cowbeb mess of panels in every page so it's a bit of a late apology
In my entire life I watched maybe 4 one piece episodes. I doesn't like the art of this and just because there are titts in game it doenst make the game "based" (based on what?).
>Thought this was gonna be a custom story JRPG kino that lets you experience a brand new Straw Hats story on an island where anything can happen. >It's yet another shoddy trod through the tranime instead of the manga.
SAD!
It feels like it's ALMOST a good idea but doesn't quite get there. If they had cut down on filler in each arc so they could stick in more arcs and spent more time dwelling on the desire to alter bad memories there could've been something there.
Does anyone know if you can go back to the memory arcs on you leave them? I just beat Crocodile but I want to save all side content for later. Can I just leave and return later?
Sweet, thanks. Also did anyone else find Crocodile a bit hard to kill? My whole party was dead except Usopp who had so little hp, he was just one tiny attack away from death himself. Yet somehow managed to defeat Crocodile with last attack. Go Usopp!
>Lololol random big dick in a screenshot so funny lololol! I don't give a shit if it's on an iconic emotional scene why so serious lololol

I had a really hard fight against the sand lizards. Still won but 2 people died and I had to use items. If you skip fights the game is not really that easy.
I have a ton of other games to finish before I can get to this one but I'll play it eventually
How much One Piece knowledge do I need? I stopped reading at Sanji's wedding right after he frees his family and I think Luffy was fighting one of Big Mom's sons, the mochi one
That should be plenty. There has only been one complete arc after that one and the anime isn't finished with it yet so the game will lack its big power ups.
Funny enough, Luffy VA is older.
But Franky VA had some health issues lately from what I remember. I believe he talked about his heath in RED movie interview or something, or maybe I just read it on Ganker
I didnt drop the anime because i got bored
I dropped it because theres never any real consequences in the show. Every time someone gets hurt or dies, they always pull through and or arent really dead. The ending to the Cloud City fricking pissed me off
>How far in the show do I need to watch before starting this game?

If you got Deluxe edition, you also get Sogeking outfit that coincidentally fits Usopp.
I would assume there are going to be more outfits from sidequests, but I have only just left Nanohana and nobody has posted any screenshots of alternate outfits yet.
Also, none of the outfits show on cutscenes. They revert back to default.
Outfits are for field and combat only.
>Watch some videos of people play the game.
It's actually remarkable how bad some fans are at this game. You'd have to have the patience of a saint to deal with One Piece in general. But they keep mashing through tutorials like they're speed running. Rarely do I see them intentionally take advantage of attack matchups then they complain about how long it takes them to beat random encounters.
I think ones enjoyment of this game hinges heavily on how much they enjoy One Piece. It has the character interactions and story beats that wouldn't feel out of place in the latter filler or movie.
If you're looking for something more difficult to play, unless you're not paying attention, you won't find it here.
I am only as far as the Sandora Dragon fight in the Alabasta desert, and really haven't found myself challenged yet.
I'm enjoying it personally as a fan who is fully caught up to the current manga chapter.
Just started chapter 2 with a level 20 party(I'm not even grinding). I swear I'm going to hit level cap way before end game. Also when will shops get introduced? I have a shitload of money and no shops are in sight yet.
I want one piece xenoverse, it's corpse dragged across the ground for 50 years with endless dlc drops, and I'll buy every single one of them, just give it to me bamco
>moronic looking characters
I hate japaBlack folk so much it's unreal
Still better than Dragon Ball.
>Still better than Dragon Ball.
No. No it's really not.
Filtered
Not an argument.
Neither is
It's actually a perfectly fine argument towards the statement given.
Says "Still better than Dragon Ball." and refuses to elaborate further.
The entire thread is a mess of refused elaboration and that makes one of the posters "right?"
I don't think so.
Explain how One Piece's artstyle is better than Dragonball's then so I can tell you exactly why you're fricking wrong.
>explain how one opinion is better than another opinion
what did he mean by this?
Opinions can be wrong.
I guess they can be if you think Dragonball has a better art style than One Piece.
Dragonball has a much better artstyle than One Piece. I say this as a huge OP fan who doesn't like Dragonball at all
But Dragonball DOES have a better art style than One Piece.
cope. Still better looking than any american shit released the past 10 years
for reals. Would never touch horizon, goy of onions or trannie of us, yet Im having a grate time with this one piece game.
what the frick is with those pants, looks like the pattern you see in cow stomachs or morel mushrooms.
Its weird because they look like normal jean shorts in game.
>boring ass easy as frick basic jrpg
Woow so much kino
MY DIFFICULTERINO ELDEN RINGERINO
calm down terf
Wanted to buy it but going through Steam reviews and seeing posts like about the lack of difficulty made me hold off. Shame, guess I'll wait till they patch in a hard mode (which probably wont be much better if its just inflated stats) or someone mods it.
It's not meant to be a good game, it's just a franchise cashing in.
>Auto-Battle
>I use the formation that puts Luffy with strong enemies
You can choose formations? How do you do that?
This is with an Xbox controller.
While in field, press left or right on D-pad to bring character selection.
Press X to bring out formations.
>It's like the point in Pokemon you need to start switching out
does not compute
you don't need anything more than your starter to finish the game
its not hard but its also not trivially easy
if u try to just click whatever and don't put good accessories on u will die but if you are playing the game properly, using the mechanics then it wont be hard
difficulty pretty reasonable if ur competent at games, might take a while if ur bad, but its definitely not a difficult game
>Why are morons leaving "reviews" after playing for two hours?
How long do you think actual reviewers play for?
Just beat Crocodile+ at the end of Alabastra and the game did show it's fangs for a second there during the bossfight when he was cranking out 1k+ AoE damage per full turn with bleed on top. Bat soup carried that fight. I also might have been underleveled as I went in at 23-24.
I'm surprised at how huge the Alabasta part is. It just keeps going! I can feel the 5 years they put into development
Trash game, garbage manga
It's not Opposite Day yet anon.
One Piece is literally the best manga.
It's like he tried to make a magnum opus for all of Japan to love but it just ended up falling flat because he lost track of what made people love OP in the first place.
t. mentally ill spic
Its a non-canon story where the SHs go through memory worlds while they're shipwrecked on an island, but not everything plays out the same way it did because "Memories are sometimes foggy" so there are alot of what ifs.
>instead of actually having its own story it just repeats the same shit you've seen a billion times
>completely braindead easy boring combat
how old are you
32
oh look, another videogame that has to ride the wave of old wan piss because the new arcs are TRASH!
oda a hack
Anon, you do realize Dressarosa was the arc right before WCI, right? And that Wano was after WCI and the anime still hasn't wrapped the former up yet?
>Video game makes me start watching a 1000 episode series
Oh God help me
It's very good. You can look up a filler skip guide if you want. I am watching it as we speak.
It can't be as good as everyone says.
Everyone raved about Hunter Hunter and then they got stuck in the Yugioh filler arc.
Yeah nothing is ever good and you might as well have a nice day so true
>OP filler is generally pretty good
oh god don't listen to this dude
>G8 is a perfect example
it is the ONLY example
bRO ITS ANIMATED BY TOEI SHITANIMETIONS
Look up "one pace"
It's how I got through it
22 hour arcs doe...
I'm still on the fishman arc and haven't gone back in about 2 years, when does it get better?
whole cake
literally like 250 episodes after fishman where you are
i mean dressrosa is ok but its infamous for how slow the anime goes (like 0.8 of a manga chapter per episode)
I couldn't imagine enjoying it nearly as much had I binged it all in a year or so.
just read the mango. Too much stretching & filler in anime .
stretching yes, but One Piece has surprisingly low filler
The stretching in One Piece can't be stated enough. It's ridiculous and shouldn't be acceptable. Characters will run for 6 hours before any action happens.
I keep waiting for them to get to Gear 5 so I can see if they frick it up or not but at the glacial pace of the anime they probably won't until the end of the year.
At least Film RED was good
>At least Film RED was good
Jesus christ how tasteless can you be to have enjoyed that shitshow.
NTA but the whole
>shanks would later refuse to take a 10 year-old boy with a devil fruit on his ship.
is because at that point Shanks already knew Luffy was going to be a big player due to the whole "Will of D." shenanigans going on. He also may/may not know about the real name of the Devil Fruity Luffy ate which would just further solidify the reason Shanks would never want Luffy in his crew.
What i did is read the manga
>No filler
>Faster
>Pace is better
You just go back to watch some fights animated if you want
>watch some fights animated if you want
They're even fricking this up with all the terrbile aura bullshit plastered everywhere.
start watching one pace around the timeskip
One piece fans are always so fricking annoying
You gonna be okay, chief?
>Eiichiro Oda designs a bunch of cool ass monsters for a new video game
>They make it a bland JRPG where you have to fight DA PAST again instead of something comparable to Monster Hunter
Yeah, I know what sells. No, I'm not pleased.
If they made a wan piss game without the focus being on all the popular characters and just the strawhats fricking around in unknown places for the whole game, people would be big mad that you cant link up with ace, raw or vivi or whoever else. It's basic anime game 101.
i don't watch the anime or play the games but i heard this before, how many OP games actually time shenanigans to re use past characters?
>I do hope once One Piece finishes
lol
We're in the final arc moron. Do you even read it?
Final saga, not arc, theres a few more arcs left to go
we are near getting to the one piece, then there is gonna be the problem of what they are gonna do with it
that totally is not gonna be using it to destroy the red lien
>Reminder that the timeskip happened 13 years ago and we only got 7 arcs
There no fricking odhack can fit Elbaf, Laughtale, Blackbeard and the whole Marine and Im in one saga
We still have atleast 10-15 years of One (huge drop of) Piss before knowing what the fricking treasure
Nah give me a hydroplane boat. You can easily find One Piece on a boat going over 250 MPH since you get to islands and cover more area much faster.
But you would still need the phoneglyphs to get the coordinates to Laugh Tale
Navigating at high speeds with a logpose in the grand line seems like a recipe for disaster.
One Piece Unlimited World Red has literally the exact same plot except instead of a cute girl making memory worlds it's a tanuki.
Chadtama clears everything. Even Ganker and easily Ganker
It's the king of Jump. Gintama is the only anime that has made me laugh.
All One Piece games are series digests for readers and viewers to catch up, it's practically a mandate at this point
>What is Unlimited Cruise Red
>What is World Seeker
>>What is Unlimited Cruise Red
Just because it's callbacks with twists doesn't mean it's not a series digest.
>>What is Unlimited Cruise Red
Cute looking, very bland OP game that doesn't hold a candle to the actual Unlimited Cruise games.
>>What is World Seeker
A literal turd.
Get ready I'm gonna sing the One Piece rap.
HERE'S HOW THE STORY GOES
WE FIND OUT THAT THE TREASURE IS ALIVE
THAT PIRATE IS ON IT YEAH homie YOU'LL SEE
CLAIMING THE PIRATES HE COMING WITH ME
>the treasure is alive
What devil fruit did it eat?
Anyway back to the lyrics
WE FIND OUT ABOUT THE TREASURE IN THE GRAND LINE
Don't give it up your day job Zoro. I'm king of the rap gods, I'm gonna be king.
It's a fricking low budget cash grab.
>Low budget
>porn video is 16 hours long
was it too much?
It's not.
I PIRATED the game and It's not fricking kino at all.
Everything about is basic and trash.
>Original costumes that everyone love are pre-order bonus
>Only 4 arcs (each zone is huge and fleshed out but it still feels dissapointing having to experience the same 4 climax arcs without any build up.)
>Chopper only transforms into big muscle arm point and none of the other forms
>Franky doesn't have his whacky hairstyles
>Everyone has ONE pre-TS costume...except franky cus too hard.
Just pick Nami
>Gets to attack from any distance
>Can NUKE EVERY SINGLE ENEMY AT ONCE
Robin?
FRICKING USELESS.
Whole lot of characters for a whole lot of nothing to say
>Chopper only transforms into big muscle arm point and none of the other forms
This is fricking bullshit. Why does Chopper always get shafted? In Pirate Warriors it's Kungfu Point for 90% of his moveset.
>PW4 puts a big focus on transformations and giant characters
>Chopper doesn't get any
Yes, I know the answer is they don't want to spend that much effort on a minor character like Chopper, shut up.
To be fair, post time-skip Chopper got the shortest end of the stick imaginable and even with having more control over his transformations now he uses Kungfu Point 90% of the time too.
Chopper has monster point
2 FORMS OUT OF 10? NICE DUDE
but hey no Kung-Fu point
I'm very late on the manga, picking the game is a good idea to catch up ?
You will NOT explore.
You WILL follow the hallway and BE HAPPY
Well? Answer the reindeer.
the game already got cracked.
im almost done with Alabaster region took like 16 hours to get to the casino, I hate how this game is just fetch quests and dialogue. THere's no way to speed it up and if you go the opposite direction the game forces you to a path. Not a very pirate experience
> alabaster
LMAO
>highly anticipated character gets revealed as 7 different characters in order to appease any and all expectations
I would've honestly been fine with moronic Einstein but I like what we got. Shaka and Lilith are my favorites but I'd fugg the poop machine
Shaka and Lilith definitely feel like the Vegapunks outside the main body who were worked on the most so far.
are there minigames?
>turn-based
>kino
lol
lmao even
Black Souls
I'm glad I torrented this shit, 4/10 the only redeeming factor is the world building and scenes.
>only read the manga because I knew back then watching 1000+ episodes is a futile effort as a wagie
>game made me interested with the anime for more animated mugiwara crew
Goddammit
Are there at least new outfits?
Quiestion for anyone playing the game.
HOW THE FRICK DO YOU EQUIP ZORO'S COOL BANDANA
Why don’t the Strawhats do anything anymore every new character feels like a fan OC
No.
You WILL li the basic TS costumes that they only used for one fricking arc.
Oh what? you want the original costumes? Pre-order bonus, buddy.
We can ONLY use the strawhats?
>Switch to Zoro on the field
>Minimap still functions
>Worldmap still functons
Shit game 0/10, would not even pirate
>Luffy can't wear his hat
>Zoro can't wear his bandana
>Nami's breasts don't bounce
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING
>Robin grabs every enemy's balls but not yours
This game is blasphemous...
I justify it as Zoro having the rest of the crew with him to tard wrangle.
It's shit. Awful story and gameplay
Any nolifer binge players here?
Are there female enemies that Sanji struggles with or are immune to Robin's Grab?
At any point of the game?
Yes
>"THE WHOLE GAME SUCKS, TRUST ME BRO I BEAT IT ALL!"
>still no in-game Rebecca screenshots
Just made some.
>Sabo: *neurons activated*
Just according to my keikaku
Still hate the fact that she's got no abs or any muscle tone, despite being gladiatorial warrior.
Sure she's all about deflection and dodges, but you still get some tone from it when doing it for years.
She's like 15 how long has she been fighting in the arena? Can't have been THAT long
Good, abs and muscles on women are disgusting
Does it have Gear 5? Did the anime even catch up to that point yet?
>Does it have Gear 5? Did the anime even catch up to that point yet?
No and no.
Does it at least go to Gear 4? I noticed it wasn't in Luffy's moveset before he got Metroided. Hell there wasn't even any Gear 3 shit in there.
>Does it at least go to Gear 4?
Yes. It shows up in the Dressrosa Arc's memory.
WAIT I STOPPED READING DURING FISHMAN ISLAND HE FINNA WENT SSJ5 NOW?!?!
HOLY FRICKIN EPIC
He becomes a looney toon and it's based.
No he doesn't, he uses his awakened rubber abilities in wacky waya that are drawn in a loony tunes style. It's still based, but he's not warping reality or anything
Not even when he pulls goggles out of his hair?
Are we going to nitpick that part when you could use him literally warping the solid ground like a musty rug?
Creating something out of nothing is more "warpy" than flopping the already existing flooring.
Besides, it's not that unique when Inazuma did it with his scissor hands, cutting the floor and wrapping it around stairs tight enough to seal away gas.
But that is inheretly the power of Inazuma's fruit, just like Senor Pink's fruit affects allow him to use the environment
>awakened rubber
How do you awaken rubber? Is that like activated almonds?
Hi literally grabs a piece of the floor and warps it like rubber
>Doflamingo literally turns buildings into strings and takes them into himself to sew his organ wounds
>Katakuri turns the ground into mochi which he can freely control
Did you miss how awakenings work?
Anon...in the last chapters of the manga he literally took a piece of his hair and it transforms into funny goggles that he then proceeds to wear......
Yeah he unironically has toon force and beats Kaido with some bugs bunny bullshit
Should I get this game?
Massive OP fan but the game looks kinda shit, and it being apparently very easy make it seems like a snooze fest
It's easy at the beginning but then it gets "standard JRPG" easy. No different than your Dragon Quests and FFs and Pokeymans.
So, easy then?
Think it'll pass
You should Pirate it
TERF Nami
And yet she didn't kick Kiku out of the bath
because she is ok bathing with men
Because Kiku is best girl (male).
What?
Thank God troons like you aren't writing the manga.
That looks disgusting.
>Buy the $80 super deluxe edition to get the cool outfits
>They don't even show up half the time
>No portraits for the costumes
>The costumes don't show up during cutscenes
Actually pathetic.
Robin's breasts? yeah they're fricking kino alright, I applaud the devs for that alone
>Robin has no barefoot stomp attack
Are you fricking kidding me
She does in the launch trailer. So it's there to find
She uses it in the very first trailer, the mil fleur gigantesco mano, my favorite attack from her, it is in the game
if they add a hard mode and the price drops i'll jump in! still need to finish dress rosa anyway
>generic, derivative jrpg garbage in 2023
>kino
This is why weebs will always be shit eating morons, literally ZERO standards whatsoever. Imagine thinking this low effort Japslop is "kino".
Trying too hard, incel zoomer /misc/gay
can i play this as someone whos never watched the show? Is this a recap or an entirely new story? I'm interested cause I'm just coming off DQ11 which was absolute kino and this looks similar to that.
I never watched or read One Piece and haven not had any issues understanding whats going on.given I knew before hand at least who the characters were and a bit of their backstory simply because of how popular One Piece is.
Im having a good time playing this game, yea its easy and yea I'll admit I hate it when turn based games have 0 strategy involved. But I would still rather play this game than half of the crap being released nowadays.
I don't mind easy as long as it has fun abilities and a good looking world.
thanks for the advice, just wish that game was on sale. $40 currently on Steam, haven't checked Switch yet.
>can i play this as someone whos never watched the show?
It's been an okay experience so far. It does halfway expect you to know who these characters are and doesn't waste much time telling you, but I guess people like
aren't having much of a problem.
And the game is very easy. I like the mechanic they have where everything is split up into areas, but there hasn't been anything so far that was even slightly threatening.
When are we gonna get a One Piece game that doesn't suck? Probably never, right?
Burning Blood is kino. morons complain about it because it's not "balanced" and because they don't know how to use the combos but what they don't realize is that Burning Blood not being balanced and each character having their own playstyle is the appeal of the game.
Pirate Warriors 3 is imho the single best Musou ever made, maybe competing only with the original Hyrule Warriors.
>with the original Hyrule Warriors.
Opinion discarded, gender ignored
I prefer PW1, it felt more like an actual OP game rather than just another musou
This, I would like to be able to change on the fly like in the Fire Emblem Warriors but it's still the best musou Ive ever played
Loaded it up and instantly felt the need to go and jerk off to that doujin where giantess Robin fuses her giant wiener to Nami so they're both part of one giant wiener to frick that mermaid
link?
Looks like a discount Genshin/BotW with One Piece characters, what makes it unique from these games?
It's nothing like those.
It's more like Dragon Quest with worse combat system.
Do the playable characters include people outside of the mugiwaras? To be more direct, can I recruit almost any character to my team? Like Mihawk, Crocodile, etc?
no
no
tbh the answer to most of the questions people make about "can i do x thing" or "is there x thing" can be answered with no and that says a lot about the game
>Chopper’s power is to turn into a bunch of cool specialist forms mid combat to minmax attacks
>every video game has him do the absolute bare minimum of transforming so the devs don’t have to make more then 3 models
I hate them so fricking much. It’s bad enough that he does frick all in the manga any more but then he doesn’t do dick in the games either. Remember Unlimited Adventure?
>turns into his true form when you run
>uses Heavy Point for a bunch of attacks
>eat a rumble ball to do attacks with Arm and Horn point
>guarding activates Guard point AND jumping after eating a rumble ball activates Jump point AND THIS IS THE ONLY TIME YOU EVER SEE THEM
>can turn into Monster Point if you get KOd after eating a Rumble Ball
vs now
>Brain Point ONLY
>running around as Chopper just has him run faster, no run point
>every single attack is just Arm Point. Didn’t even include post-TS forms at all
I WILL NOW PURCHASE YOUR GAME.
You sound like you're on your first day here.
one piece of shit
I kneel
>Thought this was gonna be a custom story JRPG kino that lets you experience a brand new Straw Hats story on an island where anything can happen.
>It's yet another shoddy trod through the tranime instead of the manga.
SAD!
It's kind of a retread but it's also kinda not. It's super weird.
Total waste of resources
It feels like it's ALMOST a good idea but doesn't quite get there. If they had cut down on filler in each arc so they could stick in more arcs and spent more time dwelling on the desire to alter bad memories there could've been something there.
STILL the King
You posted wrong pic
This, PW3 > PW4
And mechanically, PW2 > PW3
PW4 wins for me because of X Drake, that homie is probably the best playable character in the whole series.
This, but Vinsmoke Judge.
Omega Force goes full ham with spear wielders and they are almost always cracked in the Warriors games.
I rather wait until PW5 so we can get playable Gear 5 Luffy
2>3>4>1
moronic takes
OPPW3 is the best one piece game AND the best musou
Based
cringe
Can you make them talk American or do you have to read subtitles and listen to Nipspeak?
No story worth telling takes longer than a trilogy.
>Developer: ILCA, Inc.
Huh, why does that sound familiar, let me check... oh no
So does Waford have its own town or not? I hope it's not only in the memory worlds.
Saw some anons extracting the models in previous threads.
I'm trying it myself since I want to take up modding as a hobby but the files are encrypted.
Does anyone know if you can go back to the memory arcs on you leave them? I just beat Crocodile but I want to save all side content for later. Can I just leave and return later?
You can, yes. You even auto-unlock all fast travel in the zone in case you missed any.
Sweet, thanks. Also did anyone else find Crocodile a bit hard to kill? My whole party was dead except Usopp who had so little hp, he was just one tiny attack away from death himself. Yet somehow managed to defeat Crocodile with last attack. Go Usopp!
did sanji change the least out of the crew after the timeskip, I can't think of a single difference outside of a power boost
Yeah, but thats probably because Oda planned to have a big arc about him with WCI by then, then he got Germa powers.
Because Oda dropped his new deadly weakness to pretty women hard after FI.
>Turn based
No thanks I'm just play final fantasy
>>Turn based
And just like that, my interest is gone
can I play as a shota in that game and constantly hump robin and nami
There will never be a good One Piece game. NEVER.
>Lololol random big dick in a screenshot so funny lololol! I don't give a shit if it's on an iconic emotional scene why so serious lololol
>big mad
Fricking hell, I hate zoomers.
frick you it was funny the first time i saw it on ifunny
Does anyone know what GUTS is?
I had a really hard fight against the sand lizards. Still won but 2 people died and I had to use items. If you skip fights the game is not really that easy.
DEF is for how much you take enemies' normal attacks.
GUTS is for how much you take enemies' skill attacks.
the art is fking ugly
Reminds you of yourself.
fk off Oda, your art sucks
you get used to it, most of my favorite anime i started thinking, wow that looks moronic (kaiji, madoka, one piece)
Yeah one time I showed my buddy that shot of Jabra, Fukurou and Kumadori chilling on that couch and told him "This is what One Piece looks like"
Should I want the One Pace project or go full on weeb with the regular 1000 episode anime?
One Pace
When you will hit the end, switch to manga
Eventually you start with manga from the start
read it. the anime changes or cuts things
one pace is for gays
read the mango, if you like it, watch the damn thing
I have a ton of other games to finish before I can get to this one but I'll play it eventually
How much One Piece knowledge do I need? I stopped reading at Sanji's wedding right after he frees his family and I think Luffy was fighting one of Big Mom's sons, the mochi one
That should be plenty. There has only been one complete arc after that one and the anime isn't finished with it yet so the game will lack its big power ups.
>can't skip turn
>no "Defend" command
Come the frick on! It's so fricking easy.
>JRPG
First One Piece game that has actually been of interest to me.
Is it actually good as a JRPG?
Man, Franky's VA sounds rough. Isnhe older than Luffy's VA?
Funny enough, Luffy VA is older.
But Franky VA had some health issues lately from what I remember. I believe he talked about his heath in RED movie interview or something, or maybe I just read it on Ganker
jrpg with kindergarten arithmetic combat spread sheet simulator
yea no thanks grandpa
I love Robin
damn the game really is easy guess I'll wait for it to go on sale before getting it
How far in the show do I need to watch before starting this game?
I stopped after the Cloud City arc
just play it
you are gonna get bored anyway and drop it like you dropped the anime
I didnt drop the anime because i got bored
I dropped it because theres never any real consequences in the show. Every time someone gets hurt or dies, they always pull through and or arent really dead. The ending to the Cloud City fricking pissed me off
>How far in the show do I need to watch before starting this game?
Either watch the whole thing to understand, or don't play it. It's a game for people who's already watched and/or read OP.
It never worth to go into wan piss
How the frick do you even make a game for something like One Piece? Where in its 20 year long story does one decide to make a game take place?
Because it's not from the start everytime moron
Anime games are only here to panders for animegays so it only follow the lastest arcs
It's like how the most recent DBZ games will never feature shit like Raditz or the RR
So is it just the main crew or are there a good number of party members?
How long until I get Brook? I want my favorite straw hat in my party.
These models better be ripped for porn. Where's Hanwiener, Monel and Crybaby?
Some people got them, but I haven't seen them uploaded on any site and I don't know how to get past the encryption to extract them myself. Looking into it though.
>Another One Piss game who end in dressrosa...
I just wanna a full one piece game
Unfortunately, Pirate Warriors 3 is the closest you'll get to having the full One Piece story in game form and even it skips some things.
doflamingo is my favorite villain in one piece
To me, he's an absolute example of "show don't tell". I liked him way more before Dressrosa.
I just like his funny face that's why he's my favorite
Nice, Kizaru, Blackbeard, Enel, Kaido and Katakuri are some of my favorites
Name?
Nami if she real
>Early timeskip designs
Ew. Can you change the costumes at least?
If you preordered, you get Pre-timeskip outfits.
>One Piece is one of the most famous and popular manga in the world
>0 good porn
How?
Porn is for young people who can't get laid
One Piece is for old people who have a wife already
I think ones enjoyment of this game hinges heavily on how much they enjoy One Piece. It has the character interactions and story beats that wouldn't feel out of place in the latter filler or movie.
If you're looking for something more difficult to play, unless you're not paying attention, you won't find it here.
I am only as far as the Sandora Dragon fight in the Alabasta desert, and really haven't found myself challenged yet.
I'm enjoying it personally as a fan who is fully caught up to the current manga chapter.
Will I enjoy this if I just got to wano chapter?
Yes.
Just got to the Buggy Ball Town Bonanza Arc in the anime after 6 months of back to back watching. Pretty incredible so far.
Everyone says Serrated Nose Amphibian Arc is next and even better, can't wait.
Just started chapter 2 with a level 20 party(I'm not even grinding). I swear I'm going to hit level cap way before end game. Also when will shops get introduced? I have a shitload of money and no shops are in sight yet.
There are a couple shops in Alabasta. They're pretty subtle though. Just one of those monkey things standing around as an NPC shopkeeper.
I want one piece xenoverse, it's corpse dragged across the ground for 50 years with endless dlc drops, and I'll buy every single one of them, just give it to me bamco
too bad you get One Piece The Breakers
Yeah, the moment One Piece goes full "Gacha with a Premium Front" like Breakers did for Dragon Ball you can count me out.
You mean like Treasure Cruise?
If Treasure Cruise asked for $20 to download it before you even get to the gacha mechanics...
if I already own it and can't refund it, is unlimited red worth playing through once
Maybe to just blast through the story. Red was a pretty cool bad guy but the gameplay itself is pretty shit
why is there always time travel in nips stories.
character growth only happens off-camera
until it's shown in flashbacks to fill time
I haven't watched a lot of One Piece and am really only familiar on a surface level, but I'm a sucker for good turn-based RPGs, should I get it?
There's better ones out there that also cost half or less. Only play if you actually like the characters
No. You can literally beat this game by pressing X and nothing else when in battle. Spam that X, anon.
