On my second playthrough after launch and the game is still impressive as ever.

Not surprised that the game lets you attach every object together and has no game-breaking bugs.

Too bad it flopped. You know what I think it's time to recruit you all... Try genshin impact it's really good it is free to play you can buy stuff if you want but it's absolutely not necessary the gatcha system is fair and pretty easy to understand and seriously clash is a nice game brawl star's a bit cringe to me but good gameplay...but in the end it's mobile games that look like mobile games genshin is a open world RPG absolutely AAA quality and lenght there's probably like 200 hour's of main story at this point a new location is about to come out next month (and for the cultured people just Google "Lisa genshin climbing" to get a feel for the game)

totk is what botw should have been from the start, it's a good game that shows just how half assed botw itself was in terms of pretty much everything ranging from gameplay to story and musical score

it's to the point where there's pretty much no reason to replay botw, the abilities in that game are so fricking boring and unlike totk it also doesn't feel like a zelda game as much

I agree with this post. BoTW was good but ToTK makes it feel like a shitty fricking tech demo

even if you love botw, how do you reconcile that it takes more than it delivers? it hurts the legacy of botw by doubling down on every element. honestly, ultrahand is the single achievement of this game, not the skies or depths. and if you love Gmod or MC that's fine, but using ultrahand never felt like puzzle-solving to me, which is still the core mission of the developers.

Nintendo is the only one trying to push the envelope. Everyone else is too focused on muh graphics and cinematic experiences

it’s funny how i got the exact same gameplay experience as botw

amazing first impression, perhaps even better than botw with the main sky island. making the boat to cross the lake was an adventure in itself

then after the tutorial island you just sort of stop discovering new things. you get autobuild and that’s it

i feel like the 2 games should have continued to expand the gameplay systems after the tutorial island

I was still discovering new things 100 hours in. Played blind, avoided spoilers and guides.

i’m not counting things like the house, armor, blupee, caves, wells, mineru and all that jazz. i mean something that fundamentally alters the gameplay like ultrahand and recall

          Anonymous

That's the problem with open world games. You fundamentally can't lock those things behind puzzles or dungeons, otherwise your experience might be hampered. So they have to just give it all to you upfront, and anything you find elsewhere is mostly optional and trivial. If Aonuma designed a metroid game, you'd just get every ability from the start.

The Building should not be in the game. durability should have been only for the depths. Needed a lot more enemies and overhaul the combat. Needed more dungeons and all should have been in the depths.

The game needed to be more consistent in whether it wanted to be completely open, or whether it wanted to be curated. The times it gives you complete freedom, the puzzles are invalidated entirely by just flying over the obstacle with a hoverbike, or taking the simplest solution (koroks and addison sign quests). Meanwhile, when the game railroads you, it does so for no reason. Like when you're barred from entering a dungeon unless you're babysitting an NPC. Not to mention the intros and tutorials, which go out of their way to erect death barriers everywhere. Even if you glitch your way out, the game will just forcefully throw you back in, which feels so backwards compared to OOT and LTTP, where there really wasn't much to stop you if you decide to glitch out of kokiri forest or hyrule castle.

The times it gives you less freedom, the puzzles are validated entirely by just flying over the obstacle with a hoverboard, or taking the simple solutions (koroks and korok accessories). Meanwhile, when the game railroads you, it does so for fun. Like when you're barred from entering a shrine unless you're babysitting an Mineru. Not to mention the intros and tutorials, which go out of their way to erect dispensers everywhere. Even if you glitch your way out, the game will just restart, which feels so backwards compared to MM and OoS, where there really was much to stop you if you decide to glitch out of the lost woods or Gamelon castle.

Good game. My main issue is how the story is told through fragmented, out of order, can be skipped/missed “memories” the phony imposter Zelda storyline was spoiled for me before I even met the newspaper rito guy investigating it because I went a different route then intended

I think Nintendo made the mistake in thinking everybody was like a jap who had that “creative engineer/physics” brain. I’m dumb as shit and couldn’t get a lot of the puzzles/machines to work without looking up guides because i don’t have the talent for that

Personally I like the “idea” of MM more than the execution. I’m not like a zoomer that gets stressed out by the timer (reverse song of time invalidates it anyway) but I feel like a lot of the quest lines were pretty convoluted
