      >whats that?
It's a Demon's Souls machine. An ancient device. You don't need them anymore since Demon's Souls can be played on computers now.

        >It's a Demon's Souls machine
It's an MGS4 machine, Demon's Souls is more of a hidden feature. Well, at least it used to be before FROM somehow became the normiest developer. But then again, maybe normalgays don't know that the PS5 game is a remake

Retro isn't based on age. It's based on feeling.

Actually, it's based on neither. For something to be Retro, it needs to mimic the aesthetics or functions of a style or technology that is currently unpopular or surpassed by current technology. Something does not "become" retro and the definition of it doesn't change either. So in truth, only games like Undertale and the Live a Live remake can be called retro because they are trying to mimic the aesthetics of older games. What is actually being referred to when the term "retro" is used are vintage games. The SNES, PS1 and N64 are vintage consoles. If you don't want to sound like an old man or something, you can call them classic consoles and games, it doesn't matter. They just aren't retro.

Retro isn't based on age. It's based on feeling.

        >Retro style is imitative or consciously derivative of lifestyles, trends, or art forms from history, including in music, modes, fashions, or attitudes. In popular culture, the "nostalgia cycle" is typically for the two decades that begin 20–30 years ago.

This. Too bad people use retro instead of vintage.

This. PS3 still feels like it was released last year. It is not even close to retro.

    I still play mine.
I actually play it more than my PS4. Something just keeps pulling me back despite both my dualshocks 3s being worn into oblivion.
I also have this weird thing going that when i am thinking of playing some mid-2006-2015 or so multiplatform game and find out it was released on PS3 i then try to download and play through it there instead of my actually good PC. I have no idea why i am doing this but i like it unless it's a really shitty port like Two Worlds II

What are your favourite PS3 games, anon? I mostly use mine for HD ports of PS2 games I missed out on.

It's hard for me to choose even a few, but here are some off the top of my head:
Splatterhouse 2010 - Gorefest with Winnie the pooh in a role of satan's mask in a mix of different lovecraft stories. Still hope Bamco gives it a second chance
LBP series - just a fun platformer
Twisted metal - Car deathmatch game
Fat Princess still had full 32-player servers somehow and it's a really fun and chaotic team fighting game, strongly recommend, but I haven't played online in a year so i don't know if it's still the case. The bot games are quite fun still
God of War 3 - speaks for itself

I also like The Darkness (the first one) but it's a really hard to enjoy game, so i wouldn't recommend it. Still, it's pretty cool at its high points.

      >millennials
I'm one of those and already consider anything that can use composite video to be retro.

      >I also have this weird thing going that when i am thinking of playing some mid-2006-2015 or so multiplatform game and find out it was released on PS3 i then try to download and play through it there instead of my actually good PC.
Maybe it's because there are less distractions on the PS3 compared to your PC. That's definitely why I still own video game consoles despite owning a PC that can emulate PS4 games. The PS3 did also ironically end up having games, and you might as well use it if you have one around.

6 years is in excess of the time needed for something to be retro. It's more like 3 years.
