you don't have to pay for online on PlayStation. All the good ones don't require PS+ to play online.

This is literally psychology 101. Want people to sign up to a service? Make the sign up seem like a reward instead of a demand. Keep the sign up optional so it's not required in nations that don't support PSN, give people who can sign up a free cape, weapon, armor set etc. whatever. Numbers would have skyrocketed, Sony wouldn't have demolished tons of goodwill.

SNOY wanted a PSN account link requirement for PC players to "make the game better for players" which means they want to janny you for gamer words and collect your data. Due to server stability issues at launch, the PSN account link requirement was removed. Recently, SNOY brought back up the need for a PSN account link. PC players got mad since there was an establish lack of need for a PSN account since the game is fine as it is without it. It also came to light that many countries are not supported for PSN and thus anyone who bought the game in those countries would be unable to make a PSN account and would be locked out. SNOY also quietly delisted the game from Steam in those affected countries. Gaymers at large are now even madder at SNOY for this.

Eastern European states have laws thay govern Sony within their nations, they absolutely can avoid selling products in different countries within the EU, because the laws that you keep quoting have exceptions.

    Hell this idiot even posted:

    [...]

    >That would still be the same violation and they'd still be in the same amount of trouble for it, they just would've been caught sooner. The problem Arrowhead was responsible for was that being able to play without a PSN account demonstrates inarguably that it's not a necessity to the minimum function of the service, which violates the GDPR
It doesn't violate GDPR because it can have a viable excuse to use that info, even if it didn't before Sony can make one up, the point is that it should use as minimum as possible FOR THE SERVICE, but if that service needs more personal information for virtually any reason they can ask for it. But even if it didn't and you hypotheticals were true, it's not personal information to need a username, password and email anyway you dumb Black person, stop bringing it up.

It shouldn't be available in Estonia in the first place. But Arrowhead's moron boss fricked up royally and they don't know how to deal with this situation.

I don't know who's fault it was that it released in those countries but the guy literally said it was his idea to disable PSN requirement for few months to sell it to more people.

Sony is the publisher. If Sony was selling the game in all these countries they knew they wouldn't be able to create accounts, then Sony should be responsible for not doing their job. Arrowhead's CEO's idea was to disable the requirement temporarily because of technical difficulties with the amount of people who hopped on on launch, which could once again be because Sony's PSN infrastructure is shit, but who knows. In the end Sony is shit at being a publisher.

            >Arrowhead's CEO's idea was to disable the requirement temporarily because of technical difficulties with the amount of people who hopped on on launch
I will point out this is a complete lie every time I see it.
The game launched with cross-play friend list functionality independent of the PS account system.
This would not be in place if the game was not planned to launch without a PS account requirement, it makes no sense.

                >They did not do full scale stress testing before launching the game as that is not possible without public knowledge
                Yes, this is me.
Regardless, the narrative they keep pushing is that it was disabled shortly AFTER launch, not before launch.

Sony didn't get to force Arrowhead's customers to register with PSN, so now they're throwing a tantrum by blocking their game from being sold in any country that doesn't have PSN. It's honestly pathetic.

I refuse to believe that anyone actually gives a shit about these shithole countries that they couldn't even point out on a map. Who the frick cares if they don't sell there? GAYMERS can't take their win and have to keep pushing over something stupid now.

All 1st world countries have such overbearing restrictive work schedules that even migrants have their kid output reduced to 1.5 within one generation.

The problem comes from infinite migration.

Why does it feel like Sony tries to get bad PR on purpose sometimes
Like they had a really popular successful game and then decided to do not just one thing but multiple things to create controversy as if they're trying to ruin it for no logical reason
Seriously what the frick is Sony's problem

EU cares right the frick now because levying large fines against international electronics companies for violating nonsensical consumer rights is how they make all their money.
Or they can just ban Sony Interactive Entertainment in all member states overnight and enforce it lol.

EU put large fines against companies fricking their population.
Making (lol) an account for a game is not fricking consumers its pretty standard industry practice.
The three former Soviet block states that are barely 30 years old, while technically covered by EU legislation often have their own side adventures within the legal system where they end up excluded.
OP has no idea how EU law works he's just crying.
