I enjoy arcadey games like Classicvania over Metroid cancer, but the controls were total shit.
I know the levels are designed around the clunky controls but they’re still annoying.
a lot of the problem with the first few vania games was them having awkward vertical hops with too much hangtime as much as the static arcs. bloodlines feels a lot better to play even still having static arcs.
Love the Bloodlines version of this music.
Bloodlines is very underrated.
limited continues are never coming back and that's a good thing but damn if they didn't pump up moments like this.

Castlevania 4 didn't have clunky controls.
git gud
also you must be thinking of the other Classicvanias, SCIV's controls are very liberal

Castlevania the Adventure Rebirth
Bloodstained Curse of the Moon 1
I had a version that was like a cover that was named "Heavy Kick Ass Fricking Mix" for 2 decades.
Never knew who actually recorded it but the organ solo and heavy metal guitar was f'ing aces.
