JOHTOOOOOOOOOO
I'm curious how they're going to handle that, is it going to be Johto and then johtokanto? Or will time travel be involved... Very curious
shit
what do i do then? i never bothered with the iv/ev/whatev autism
do i have to like, get a ton of money for pokeballs, catch a hundred wild pokemoms and just sort through and grab the ones with beter genes? the frick would i even do with the rest?
I beat the Kanto elite 4 without IVs or good EVs. Just use good pokemon, keep healing items, and give your pokemon good moves. You don't NEED IVs or EVs until PVP/rebattling. My team was some shit like Gyarados, golem, Alakazam, Venusaur, Pidgeot and I forget the last but he existed solely as a sacrifice so I could get a free healing turn....maybe it was Raticate. Very pedestrian team and Alakazam almost solely swept
ok but im in black/white and uve never played that game so idk which are the good pokemon
i got past the first two gyms since they were pretty much a joke (NORMAL gym, what the frick) but trainers are getting a lot harder
Unova doesn't give you heaps of build freedom which was a serious complaint for the real games.
Expect your endgame team to have krookodile, darmanitan, conkeldurr, STARTER, the bird, and probably excadrill

Well that's fricking moronic, you don't until you beat the elite 4. Sub him for a Haxorus. Axew is in Mistaltron cave.

wtf hold on, what are phenomenoms or whatever
i looked up on the bulbapedia where to get some pokemons and they have weird conditions like that, hordes, shaking grass, etc and ive never seen any of those things
are they just, ultra rare events? i wanted the pink ear mon but i couldnt figure it out

Phenomenons are basically hordes of strong pokemon. If memory serves right you don't get to do those til you've beaten the elite 4 of that region. You can catch alphas which have really good stats that way. Kind of disrupted the games economy for a bit by making strong pokemon more easily accessible. That said if you're patient you can still get decent IV pokemon. If you give a shit just know you only really need 1 IV to be 25+ and maybe defense IVs not being single digit. Perfect IVs is autistic shit especially for just solo campaign play.

ok i see so lategame stuff
what about the swarms stuff and rustling grass

Swarms are just 5pokemon at a time. Great for shiny hunting, great for EXP grinding, otherwise safe to ignore

no i mean here it says you can get this pokeomn only through swarm and no idea what are the conditions for that tk trigger same with the grass shit
1 year ago
Anonymous
Oh, sweet scent will trigger a swarm. It's a move I know Oddish learns. Foongus and amoongus learn it but I think they're pretty late game? Kanto is really the best starting region because you get such good type coverage and overworld advantage shit

ok what about rustling grass what the frick is that how do i trigger it i just want the fricking audino

nevermind i found out its apparently also some sort of phenomenom shit and probably post elite-4 if what that anon said above is true frick
Because Pokemons AI isn't good and they need the competitive edge. Rad red has minimal grinding mode which is a nice "reasonable" difficulty without making you go autistic for a frickin romhack. Clover is also completely doable without ev/iv consideration
Here's my unironic tip: Use pokemon for pve that aren't shit with good movesets. Starmie, scizor, etc... stuff with good speed and attack/special attack or just good stats in general. Don't use trash mons.
You can buy good pokes off the auction house after a certain point, so I would say just do that. You can also go to another region I think like 1-2 badges in maybe.
Buy pokemon or take the boat to Kanto and get Staryu, a new starter and an Abra and you're set for life.
>buying pokemon
soulless
just give me recomendationsnof good early stuff instead, i want to catch stuff myself
dont think ive unlocked region travel yet
Once you get to whatever port is in unova, go to Kanto, get a Staryu, whatever starter you like(probably whatever your unova starter is weak to), and try to snag an Abra on nugget bridge. Once you get to gym 3 of Kanto you can take the boat back to unova with a God tier team . If not, trust me anon, you can beat unova with

>its hard in the sense you have to grind 5 hours in each new area you enter with each pokemon in your team
thats fangames for ya
no wonder all of them are obscure shit that a a very small minority of the fanbase plays while majority enjoys games created by gamefreak
All johto pokemans are catchable even without region anyways. Also who the hell still plays this? There is literally nothing to do in this game, even finishing pokedex gives you nothing
>its the kind of romhack/fangame that has shit pool of mons available early on, no features to make handling ivs/evs/natures/abilities convenient
jesus christ why even bother making these le ebin romHACKERRINOs and fanGAYmes
just fricking pirate the original games at that point
>No features
Black person you can check IVs at the millisecond the pokemon is confirmed caught and the pools are based on the original games. Hate the game for it's MMO aspects but at least tell the truth.
You gotta love how all these ROM hacks and fan games still retain the dumbest aspects of the series like random wild battles, HMs, mandatory trainers, linear progression, limited XP share, etc
It's good til you get bored. I beat gen 1 and 3. It's better than any other MMO I've played in that it's backed by Pokemons combat system but that's not saying a ton.
haven't played since pokemon Y, is this like an actual pokemon game set in johto or is it another meme game like arceus and go? also, are there classic pokemon in it or just lame new ones?
cant find a source for this outside of forum gossip. and their monetization + branding is absolutely infringing on nintendo/game freak's property rights. it isnt like their calling themselves monstermmo or allowing alternative assets
thats the exact same case with most romhacks and theyve been shut down for less. nintendo has shut down multiple pokemon romhacks that werent more than a patcher. pokemmo is not an emulator; it's clearly an original game that just rips out assets.
im just concerned with this shit because it's painting a big target on the back of pokemmo, and a lawsuit like this would have effects way beyond just pokemmo. making something directly competing with nintendo (scarlet/violet has added some elements that could be considered competing with pokemmo), including microtransactions, AND using the brand "poke". it's riding in the gray area too much, and money will win in that area. they need to cut this shit back before it damages nintendo fangames even more than fangames already have been persecuted.
its not like they make you "better" it's just cosmetics, vanity shit and reduced grinding so i dont really mind
if others feel like paying to play less then feel free lol
fyi they do. Because you can buy those things, trade them for in game currency, then use that to buy amazing pokemon. Any infinite mmo where you can trade out of game items for in game currency will have this p2w factor.
That being said, you'll be able to make any team without paying but you might have to grind a lot.
Sorry what I mean to say is that for competitive you're gonna have to spend like 1 mil pokedollars for one good pokemon. You will be able to complete the game with random mons, but for pvp it will take actual grinding for like a week possibly or you pay up.
>playing multiplayer-focused fanmade pokemon shit
idk maybe I am just jaded by the pokefarm bullshit. i've played it, got pretty far (back during g7 I got all the canon Pokemon and PFQ fakes, though not all the forms like Megas). but then they kept introducing more and more shit and sometimes I looked at all the grindinig limits and paid shit and I was like "why do I even fricking keep bothering" and just quit
>implying Nintendo and TPC don't have the C&D ready to go
Frick them, really, it's embarrassing how much talent Nintendo pisses on instead of doing the Sega move of inviting them on-board to make a game. Imagine if they got the A2MR/Ori guy instead of M$
It doesn't fricking matter when they get to court and get smothered in legal fees but supposedly pokemmo the game has none of the code of the original games and the user providing the roms supposedly protects them from I don't frickin know

JOHTOOOOOOOOOO
I'm curious how they're going to handle that, is it going to be Johto and then johtokanto? Or will time travel be involved... Very curious
ok after years of not playing pokemon i decided to give this a try
im playing pokemmo now and frick i dont remember pokemon being this hard
Pokemmo gives trainers new movesets and perfect IVs. I felt the same and loaded up FireRed thinking I got rusty, but no pokemmo is fricking hard
>giving trainers perfect IVs
tremendously gay
shit
what do i do then? i never bothered with the iv/ev/whatev autism
do i have to like, get a ton of money for pokeballs, catch a hundred wild pokemoms and just sort through and grab the ones with beter genes? the frick would i even do with the rest?
Just buy some pokemon in the marketplace
that sounds incredibly soulless and depressing
buying that is, i guess i could sell any crap i capture for more pokeball money

Unova is frickin cucked. It's truly unfair.
pokemmo is shit dont play it
Why are all the hacks making pokemon fangames giving everyone perfect IVs, EVs and ultra optimized moves?
Because Pokemons AI isn't good and they need the competitive edge. Rad red has minimal grinding mode which is a nice "reasonable" difficulty without making you go autistic for a frickin romhack. Clover is also completely doable without ev/iv consideration
cuz pokemon is easy
how do you otherwise balance it
Here's my unironic tip: Use pokemon for pve that aren't shit with good movesets. Starmie, scizor, etc... stuff with good speed and attack/special attack or just good stats in general. Don't use trash mons.

I don't know unova reliably enough to give you good recommendations just try shit and see if it works, or look them up. idk what to tell you.
Once you get to whatever port is in unova, go to Kanto, get a Staryu, whatever starter you like(probably whatever your unova starter is weak to), and try to snag an Abra on nugget bridge. Subbing excadrill for Haxorus

PokeMMO is just a glorified ROM hack of the base games and isn't that popular for that reason

but can you edit them right after you catch the mon? thats right, Black person

Just catch another pokemon anon...
just play better games, anon
You gotta love how all these ROM hacks and fan games still retain the dumbest aspects of the series like random wild battles, HMs, mandatory trainers, linear progression, limited XP share, etc
yea, i genuinely dont understand these autists
its like they just want to make games even worse than LAMEfreak
I like pokeone better.
Is PokeMMO even good.
It's good til you get bored. I beat gen 1 and 3. It's better than any other MMO I've played in that it's backed by Pokemons combat system but that's not saying a ton.

they have microtransactions lmao
dmca is coming any day now. surprised they lasted this long
Nintendo already took them to court and lost.
cant find a source for this outside of forum gossip. and their monetization + branding is absolutely infringing on nintendo/game freak's property rights. it isnt like their calling themselves monstermmo or allowing alternative assets
pokemmo has 0 pokemon content
the assets, audio, etc are all provided through the ROMs

yeah who cares about comptetitive except the gigautists with enough autism to consider doing the grind in the first place
This. If I wanted to play some hyper competitive pokemon shit I'd just play showdown where at least I can just pick the mons I want
