OW is also fricking boring and you have to play your class. OW's players are some of the most autistic, no-fun, serious people I've ever met. Every permaban I've gotten from reddit was from criticizing OW, mostly complaining about shitters who get upset when I don't adhere to the meta. I've never had such interactions with their players even actual troony TF2 players are capable of being cool and able to have fun and not get upset when I won't switch from demoman to solider for a push.
I have no idea what causes this. Despite the average TF2 player being objectively more degenerate than OW - ie porn sprays or porn sounds in the background - they're able to just play the fricking game and not be obessed with their leaderboard standing. Even for friendly OW matches the game always ends with one side being extremely buttmad because somebody wasn't healing or DPSing or tanking enough like it's a WoW raid. Which is also why I left WoW because after a point the raids stopped being about having fun in a story with others but about loot and xp grinding.
OW is just naturally more competitive, less players on each teams means player error has much more negative impact. whereas tf2 even if you see a friendly on your team it doesn't matter that much since you probably have 11 other players on your team
Going over it character by character I really can't think of anyone in OW that has nearly as high a skill ceiling as some of the TF2 classes. The most you have is Genji, but the more I think about that the only skill there is knowing when you can execute someone and if you need to parry anything before you go ape shit. The things you can pull off at a high level with Pyro/Demo/Soldier hell even Spy are fifty billion times higher than anything OW let's you do. If we purely took in the actual meta game differences then OW is much more difficult since you're heavily reliant on your entire team not getting picked off and syngerizing ultimate pushes, but there's an incredible lack of skill expression apart from little quirks like tracer ability usage and d.va ulti placement and zarya ulti placement.

can find a match in <10s, still in the top 10 most played, bots proven to be of insignificant number when compared to player count, bots usually get booted within seconds, variety of community servers dont get bots
