Honestly? No. Unless you can get it for $20 then I wouldn't recommend it. Especially if you played the original. It just feels like a cheap and rushed remake without any of the "soul" of the original.
I was mainly going to buy it to support the possibility of 2 also getting a remake, but now that its been almost a week I dont really care as much anymore. im fine sticking with the ps1 version

1 was better than 2, the only reason some say otherwise is because they actually got to play 2 since it was multiplatform instead of PS1 exclusive
I only had playstation as a kid, and I enjoyed 2 way more

seeing pacman back to using his original 3d design with decent animations is bless
it has 2 endings which has 2 different ways of playing through the game
the cutscenes are soulless but do a better job at story telling than the original
I think its worth it, just so namco will quit it with the arcade wank and continue in this direction for the series

The bounce feels awful to do with the added delay.
the bounce after the first one is delayed but once pacman starts flipping you can spam it easily, there's not that many sections that require you to spam the bounce anyways. The platforming feels a lot more smooth and modern though, you can do a lot of cool section skips with the klonoa flutter

I love how he now can use Klonoas flutter too, I see it as them acknowledging that Pacman and Klonoa are both making a return and will continue doing crossover stuff. Everyone seems to call it a Yoshi flutter jump from the way he moves his legs but the movement and height gained from it is the exact same to Klonoas
If I could just get the original game with the better bosses of the remake, that'd be the ideal.

also theres a weird delay to the buttboucne, and I think swimming is fricked, I cant figure out a way to get past the fish without taking damage

since this is technically a Pac-Man thread I was wondering if there are any other Pac-Man games where the stage layout changes every time you complete it like Pac-Mania. The only ones I know are bootleg clones like 3D Maze Man, or Pac-Guy

I like it, however i do have some gripes. The nu-pac family suck a lot (specifically pac-mom and the pac-baby (frick the legal bullshit going on with pac man's family)), the music remixes for the compressed tracks are mostly terrible and completely pointless because the remixes are ALSO compressed, remade visuals are pretty but a lot of details were adapted out in the transition (kinda like the crash ps1 trilogy to nsane trilogy conversions)
Game is also braindead easy and gives you lives like candy, though whether you consider that a good or bad thing when the original was hard mostly due to being a poorly playtested mess starting from anubis rex is up to you
I still really appreciate the existence of this game regardless and hope the sales are good enough to lead to the existence of a pac man world 4 and/or world 2 re-pac
