It took them over a year to do what Larian did from a pre order playtest.

It's almost like one is an established company working on an old famous series with a high budget, while the other is a bunch of literally who that got lucky with kickstarter huh.

Kingmaker reached 1 million in much more time than wrath, wrath itself is still a kickstarter game. You are severely overestimating how much kingmaker was successful, it had a positive reception but it's still a very niche game.
The pathfinder IP is not established at all in videogames, compare it to fricking baldur's gate.
And obviously, the games are much more niche than larian games, this should not be even up for debate. Divinity is the most accessible CRPG you can think off, easy, intuitive, and very simple.
I don't see how 1 million is a poor result all things considered, if they still make DLCs for the game it's because it clearly is profitable when compared to the budget these games run on.

The problem is the newest DLC is fricking homosexual shit. Kingmaker gave you twins (female) to frick. Wrath is pushing a literal homosexual furry for sodomites. Disgusting.

They got the 40k license now so they're in no danger of going bankrupt. It's literally a blank cheque to just shit out another half-finished, barely playable piece of shit because 40kgays have no taste and will buy literally anything.

What they have accomplished is pretty good for a young studio that has only made 2 real games.

One million sales after what? Two years since official release and barely over 100K people could even be assed to finish the damn game without dropping it, lmao.
But yeah not like I blame them, the game is pretty damn bad, says a lot about the actual quality considering how much you shills try to sell this tot people

      >barely over 100K people could even be assed to finish the damn game

Bruh, even fricking D:OS2, a glorified phone game, has better numbers, and in any case when hardly 10% of your customers finish your damn game you know there's issues, especially in a genre that is niche where the audience is supposedly more dedicated.
Oh well not like they care as long as they get the money I guess, such is the way of this industry.

          D:OS2 was miles more popular.

The longer the game is, the less likely people are to finish it, blowing through the game on your first playthrough probably requires around 60 hours even on normal or lower. CRPG autists like

      D:OS2 was miles more popular.
and yeah, restartitis. anon it took me 5 runs and 200 hours before i finished the fricking game. but that's just my experience, can't speak for everyone

with restartitis will just restart the moment they feel they're not optimal, some will even just burn themselves out and drop the game for a while

      >restartitis
      not an argument
restarting 5 times but still finishing the game is still earning you the achievement, so it doesn't change the numbers
1/10 of the people who bought the game care to finish it, it's not good

      >barely over 100K people could even be assed to finish the damn game

I really wanted to like this game. It seemed to have everything that I was looking for in a CRPG. Great visuals, cinematic moments, a ton of companions, and a story that was very reactive to your choices.

But holy shit the writing is terrible. Nearly every character has the most shallow dialogue mixed with a heavy amount of exposition, and all of them think they are comedians. I don't know how a game expects you to take its story seriously when the game doesn't even take itself seriously. Nearly every line of dialogue from the beginning of the game to the tavern has some one-liner or quirky remark from characters who are supposedly trying to win an epic battle. I know some characters are meant to be comic relief but it would be a relief to have someone actually be real for once. Wenduag was the only companion I gave any shit about and it was purely because she seemed to be the only one who took anything slightly seriously.

I got to the part where you find a guy locked up in the jail of the tavern and as soon as he started speaking I uninstalled the game. It was now like 5 out of the 6 characters I had been introduced to who felt like they were right out of a sitcom. Maybe I'm too hard to please or I've got a stick up my ass but the writing - and especially the dialogue - is a total make or break for me and it felt like I was reading a AAA fanfic

Yeah i actually prefer more simple writing like in underrail. It's shallow but at least the characters act more like real people instead of dumping their life stories on strangers.
