no gamer buys regular zen cpus now now that theyre doing x3D for every generation.

This. We know the 3D cache Ryzen 7000 CPUs are right around the corner.

AMD should have released a 7600X 3D on launch for $300.

It would be sold out for months.

        Anonymous

Exactly. 3D cache is the new 'dual core' amidst a sea of new CPUs falling for the same clock war shit that rendered the Pentium 4 into a joke.

        Anonymous

we all know the x3d is gonna be nowhere near $300

        $500 minimal

          Anonymous

AMD launched an 8-core 3D cache CPU for less than $500.

3D cache will have to become a standard feature on CPUs.

Die stacking isn't going to become common place for years. It still a massive flat cost increase for packaging complexity. Its a premium feature that will remain on halo SKUs for a long time yet.

AMD is moronic. Should have stopped IMMEDIATELY the production of 5800X3D chips before they released this shit gen into public. Of course people are buying the better and cheaper CPU

      Anonymous

No they did the right thing. Currently AM4/Zen3 chips are still selling.

If they stopped the production the sales numbers would've plummeted completely.

Because nothing gets cheaper anymore. More power just means more expensive hardware. Everyone ponders to enthusiast market now so it's only natural that their consumer base shrinks accordingly.

Why is the 7 series goddamn 90+ C degrees on stock? Is it for the benchmarks? Apparently undervolting them drops the temps down to 50+ C.

I remember someone saying that it tries to hit max/boost clocks first so you don't have a delay like the one you get when going from base to max.

They added thermal limit to the boost table.
It doesn't help the IHS is 2mm thicker than before to keep AM4 cooler compatibility.

Becouse for gaming you do not need the most shiiny new toy specialy not in the cpu segment where even fricking i5 4460 is able to run new released games.. I did upgrade to i5 12400 from that cpu and while there is diffience if i did not planed to upgrade whole pc i would play it to this day.. and that cpu is what 8 years old? and it was not even gaming cpu... GPU SSD and ram seems to be better investement

    >PCBros.... why aren't we being catered and pampered to anymore? We are THE master race afterall..

    What?

AMD fricked up, there is no decline, they simply tried to treat the consumers like morons with their new expensive CPUs that need expensive motherboards and expensive new memories.
All this while the 5000 series not only still is a monster of performance, AMD themselves have the 5800X3D a CPU so fast for gaming that even the newest intel 13th generation can't beat, why the frick anyone would pay premium for a new generation that won't give any significant gain? The people that actually use something like the 7950x already bought it on the first week and that's the people that need them to work.
Nobody fell for it and now they are fricked.

Same shit with NVIDIA and the "4080" GPU line, got caught with their pants down trying to frick the consumers and now they are scrambling to fix the situation while anyone can simply go out there and buy a 3080 12gb that runs everything at 4k with high fps, anything heavier nowadays has DLSS or FSR or the intel equivalent, the industry itself gave the answer to the performance problem while getting greedy with the pandemic+crypto situation and now that things normalized they tough that they could still release anything at any price that it would sold out.

Classic case of greed, and now they are paying the price for it.

That's exactly WHY they priced the 4000 series so high. They have a ton of 3000 series stock they want to unload.
