It's an AMD issue (I'm on Ryzen 7 5800X and 6800XT) from what I've seen on the Steam forums. Atlus doesn't give a shit. They're too busy cashing in on P5R.
I don't think they give a shit about P5R either
As I said, the game has extreme slowdowns in crowds despite the crowd models being very low quality even on the highest settings
I suspect the slowdowns are not primarily caused by hardware issues, as I've heard people fix them through various means
Atlus doesn't give a shit, period, even when they charge full prices for a game
I did play the game at launch, but the slowdowns were a decent issue as it affects significant parts of the overworld and several rooms in palaces, they shouldn't be in the game at launch
If it's an AMD issue have you tried playing P4G with DXVK? That would probably help. Anyway they're updating P4G and changing the 32-bit structure to 64 and fixing a bunch of other stuff, so they'll hopefully fix that as well.

I'm not saying my PC is the best, but surely you agree than a 3070 and a 10700k should be able to run persona 5 at a decent framerate even in crowds?
I've heard of people with worse specs than me having no problems whatsoever and people with better specs than me struggling as well
The game runs normally if I turned my back to the people, which I definitely noticed in the final palace's large stadium room
I assume there is something fricky going on

What rotting bodies in a room?
Remember: the people that Akechi popped there were cognitions. They weren't even proper shadows, meaning offing them affected exactly nothing in the real world.
Literally, as far as the police were concerned Ren/Joker was just moved, because Shido pulled some strings. Whereas Akechi, being sent in on Shido's orders, was under the impression he had popped Ren and someone would follow up by cleaning up the mess and making the whole case 'disappear' without further media attention.

I do appreciate the effort needed to make Joker's big escape from prison somewhat coherent, but you gotta admit that there's a lot of convenient handwaves needed for the escape to work. Since we are on the topic about the cognitions disappearing, there's no way they could've controlled the disappearance of the cognitive guard's body. We have to accept that the body politely waited for Akechi to reveal his true colours, shoot Joker, and then leave before it began dissolving.

Cognitions aren't shadows. Cognitions don't dissolve.
As long as someone strongly enough believes that there should be a dead guard there, then there'll be a dead guard there.
And that someone is, at the very least, Akechi himself.
Which is also why cognitive Ren acts like a completely derptastic moron surprised to have a gun pointed at his face.
Because that's what Akechi thinks Ren would act like.

No, that would need to be Sae, as it was her Palace. Akechi's perception doesn't matter.

No. The Phantom Thieves in particular mention that there's an entire cognitive Metaverse out there, outside of Sae's distorted palace.
Just like there was an entire cognitive Metaverse out there of the outlying area around Shujin Academy, when Ryuji and Ren first accidentally slipped into the metaverse without ever noticing it. (Which is what gave them the idea to do it to Akechi, in the first place.)
>Cognitions don't dissolve
?t=1987
Cognitions don't dissolve. As long as someone is still present with that particular cognition; as has been mentioned.
I.e. as soon as Akechi leaves the general area; the dead guard and Ren cognitions leave with him.

>No. The Phantom Thieves in particular mention that there's an entire cognitive Metaverse out there, outside of Sae's distorted palace.
I remember PT specifically saying that Akechi was killing Joker in Sae's Palace. Not everyone's mementos-style shared space, in her Palace. That's why they needed HER to interrogate Joker, so she has a proper cognition of him in that room.

>there's an entire cognitive Metaverse
Their entire plan hinges on not stealing Sae's treasure so that her Palace remains and can be used to trick Akechi. >Cognitions don't dissolve.
Tell that to cognitive Ann.

The location of Sae’s palace is the courthouse. The interrogation room is part of the courthouse (Makoto confirmed this prior to the plan as it hinges on Sae’s cognition) and therefore cognitive beings there are a result of Sae’s cognition. When Ryuji and joker first entered the metaverse it was in Kamoshida’s palace. The world around the palace was normal looking because Kamoshida’s cognition of everywhere else was normal.

>Part of the courthouse
Incorrect. It's part of the police station, which IS part of Sae's palace, albeit an external location as mentioned by Makoto

No, cognitive joker and cognitive Akechi are both extremely weak because Sae doesn’t think of them as any more than teenagers. One of the crucial points of their plan was dealing with cognitive Akechi which only worked because Sae didn’t know what Akechi was really like.

Yeah bro I'm sure the guy cleaning up the bodies will make sure to report the missing bodies, surely he won't worry they will disappear him next.
Yeah, the one that doesn't hold a candle in gymnastics to her dead sister and keeps underperforming at meets. You know - failing at something, a typical Mary Sue characteristic.
this game is total shit and i dont understand the praise. its an 80 hour game that has like, 7 dungeons in it total. each of those dungeons the game forces you to go back to 3+ times each. endless hours inbetween dungeons with pointless cutscenes and lame QTE minigames to boost some score to unlock more cutscenes.
I spend a significant amount of time playing these games as well, I'm not just here for the social sim
I fuse 100% of the compendium and etc etc
But the story overshadows the gameplay, sadly, because you have to sit through so much of it
With bad gameplay you can still enjoy yourself to a degree since you at least are in control, but with a bad story you have to sit there and take it
A bad game is much more tolerable than a bad book or bad tv show
Anyway, think of it like this
P4G's gameplay isn't terrible, and the story is better
P5R's gameplay is good, but the story is terrible
When you add the component parts together P4G wins by a margin
Based, I spent like 75% of my time in the game fusing shit.
Combat and mechanics in this game are really really good but get overshadowed by the shitty dating sim.
If they implemented technicals and stuff to smtV it would probably be my absolute favorite jrpg for its combat.
Persona caters too hard to normal gays who have no interest in playing the game for its gameplay by making it way too easy
I've finished P5R literally a few hours ago. Took me 101 h to beat it, and I must say - what a ride. Loved the game, if not Elden Ring it would be my GOTY. I'm just mad I wasn't able to 100% all confidants due to lack of time (or poor time management if you wish).
Makoto best girl. If I give a NG+ a go, I'll pick her again.
Now I'm in a post-Persona depression, because I've heavily invested myself into those relationships over the past 2 weeks and now I'm back in a reality where I'm an alone 35 y.o. playing video games weeb with no IRL friends.
The game isn't perfect, but it's stylish as frick and I loved it.
>I'm just mad I wasn't able to 100% all confidants due to lack of time
No offense, but how?
I had an entire month to kill
Did you use the fortune telling for better stat gains and ranking up confidants?
It helps tremendously
>Did you use the fortune telling for better stat gains and ranking up confidants?
No. I've skipped the whole fortune telling up until the last 20% of the game. I know it's my fault, I just played it blindly and didn't know Chihayas route has such powerful buffs.
Also I've noticed I can check/fertilize the plant in my room for kindness literally at the last week of the game. What can I say? I'm a moron.
>If I give a NG+ a go
imo you're better off with a fresh save. NG+ is baby mode easy regardless of the difficulty you select because you keep all of your inventory, and persona registry. even if you want to intentionally handicap yourself, you're bank account will have millions so the upgrades and purchasing is trivialized.
Yeah, sure dude. Lets hope everyone is incompetent and doesnt do their job, thats the crux of our plan!
it makes sense for cloak and dagger political corruption shit to be extremely compartmentalized. of all the problems with the writing this isn't one of them imo.
The chain of command was already messed up during the whole fiasco, and I think they killed the SIU director immediately too. Sure the PTs couldn't have known that but it's not a dealbreaker for me. They just shouldn't make it out like a mega big deal.

It's crazy how many people still got filtered by okumura, even to this day.
I’ll admit it kinda struggled on okumura. But only because I was trying to do a joker only run on hard. As long as you can baton pass and use items/ add on elemental spells to party members okumura is piss easy
>It's crazy how many people still got filtered by okumura, even to this day.
it's an easy game but I still appreciate there's a frick you skill check boss right in the middle.
>NG+ is baby mode easy regardless of the difficulty you select
Even the hardest one? I had a pretty good time on hard, only getting like 5 hours worth of retries on some bosses total. By "you keep your inventory" do you mean materials or weapons as well? Because having 300+ dmg weapons in Kamoshida's Palace would be busted. I don't want to risk a clean save if by the end of a 100 hour run it turns out I fricked up time management again somehow and still didn't reach my goal.
Also are the final Personas (unlocked by 10 rank confidants) level 100 or something? I've finished the game at 85-ish and I haven't seen one of them in fusing by results.
yeah I started NG+ on max difficulty and was disappointed how easy it was. >By "you keep your inventory" do you mean materials or weapons as well?
almost everything and it's as unbalanced as it sounds. iirc there are some consumables you don't keep. but weapons, fused will seeds, you keep it all. also your social rank stuff will be still be maxed out, so you don't have to spend time on that. meaning a lot of days there's nothing worth doing.
I think there are new personas? I forget but there's something additional unlocked. I wasn't having fun so I didn't get very far in. idk maybe you will have fun if you enjoy the additional personas.

For those, you'll need a fusion calculator I guess. Either that or you could observe that those arcanas with non-advanced final personas are usually those that can be ranked up via fusions with treasure personas, so you could simply fuse your way up by resummoning the treasure personas.
I'm getting an uncanny valley feeling while listening to P5 vocal tracks. The singers (Lyn I think it was) makes a damn good job pretending she's signing in proper english. It's like a step above Japanglish, but my brain still refuses to make sense of the words and I need subs to understand it.
For example the "I'm a shAPshifter" pronounciationg instead of 'shapeshifter' in Beneath the Mask.

Oh, while on the topic. Is Strikers a spin-off? A continuation of the story? Or what? I've been thinking about either doing P5R NG+ or going for Strikers.
Is there a setting for my chosen waifu from P5 to be.... well... my gf in Strikers as well? Or it our relationship reset in Strikers (which I assume it is, because of course it would)?
Strikers is a continuation of the original P5, but is still compatible with P5R in general lines. It makes no mention of Sumire, however the ending of P5R has her go international and leaving Japan for a longer time meaning her abscence would at least be explainable with some minor wrangling and handwaving.
Also; the Musou real-time battlesystem that Strikers uses, fits Persona to a tee and gameplay wise it goes down like a fine wine. If anything I'd hope mainline Persona 6 would adopt it while retaining the fully fleshed out concepts of confidants/social links/etc. as well as the more advanced persona fusion mechanics of a main title. It just works ssooooo--- much better than 4-guys-in-a-row.
Musou-like. No huge crowds. You traverse the Metaverse like in mainline P5(R), but when you encounter an enemy a small battle area forms and shadows spawn there in small waves of 5~10.
The actual combat mechanics are Musou-style with light/heavy ground/aerial attacks; combo-chaining; juggling; time-freeze finishers; etc. (Actually; this is where Showtime attacks originate from.)
It validates them, one character clinging to the MC so intensely validates not any personality traits or actions but the existence in itself. I wouldnt say ugly, just average, also some people like characters with glasses.
That's nice and all, but it contradicts what happens in the game, doesn't it? I did spend Valentines with Makoto and this isn't it.
Also as much as I enjoy seeing my waifu it's kinda cringe and fricking hate long-distance relationships which is implied is going to happen. I'm getting to worked up about this shit.
I've always treated Mishina like a pain in the ass, but the cutscene where he tries to gather petitions on the street for your release hit me differently and genuinely made me appreciate him as a friend.
P5 Strikers was unironically the best of the P5 games. I would not be upset with future Purse Owner games following thr Hack and Slash with RPG mechanics playstyle
I've been thinking of playing it, but it's so damn expensive
I'm not broke, but oh my god, it's more expensive than royal ffs
I won't convert it to dollars since that wouldn't be accurate, but I think you can see it anyway
P5R is 599kr and P5S is 659kr, which the highest price you can pay for a brand-new AAA game
That's over 60 dollars for a game from 2016 that's also been on steam for quite some time
I liked the style and overall vibe of P5R but it was my first Persona. Are all of these games just glorified friend simulators? I wanted to go on an anime adventure and instead it was asking me to give a frick about coffee dates.
I wish P5R jammed more Kasumi/Sumire in and let her join earlier. I guess they got too conservative after Marie was a fricking flaming cringe trainwreck, but Kasumi/Sumire was actually a likeable character.
>i guess they got too conservative after marie
lol
Compare how much screen time Sumire gets in the main story prior to the third semester to Marie prior to Adachi’s deadline. She’s already jammed in more than her.
I mean; that's pretty cool. The pathing logic even temporarily sends Makoto straight down the corridor you were originally walking as a feint, before she doubles back and closes the distance again. Someone on the development staff actually put the effort in to make the pathing logic do that intentional overshoot thingy, when they COULD have just rubberbanded her to Ren directly.
P5 has higher sales and scores across the board by game critics and players alike. P5R is easily one if the best games ever made. P4 is for literally trannies. Played it once and never touched it again. P5 on the other hand have already beaten it 4 times.
I think it's time for Gankertards to take yet another L.
P5R is fantastic.
P4G would be great too, but it crashes like a motherfricker and I can't play it. Frick shitty ports.
Post your specs, P4G runs perfectly for me
P5R also runs well with slowdowns in crowds
10700k
3070
2k screen 120fps

>No, that would need to be Sae, as it was her Palace. Akechi's perception doesn't matter.
No. The Phantom Thieves in particular mention that there's an entire cognitive Metaverse out there, outside of Sae's distorted palace.
Just like there was an entire cognitive Metaverse out there of the outlying area around Shujin Academy, when Ryuji and Ren first accidentally slipped into the metaverse without ever noticing it. (Which is what gave them the idea to do it to Akechi, in the first place.)
>Cognitions don't dissolve
?t=1987
>akechi thinks ren would act like this
No, cognitive joker and cognitive Akechi are both extremely weak because Sae doesn’t think of them as any more than teenagers. One of the crucial points of their plan was dealing with cognitive Akechi which only worked because Sae didn’t know what Akechi was really like.
Yeah, sure dude. Lets hope everyone is incompetent and doesnt do their job, thats the crux of our plan!
Yeah bro I'm sure the guy cleaning up the bodies will make sure to report the missing bodies, surely he won't worry they will disappear him next.
P5R has no Marie Sue, therefore it's the better game
Sumire is pretty close
she feels better written than Marie
the girl living in the shadow of her dead sister?
Yeah, the one that doesn't hold a candle in gymnastics to her dead sister and keeps underperforming at meets. You know - failing at something, a typical Mary Sue characteristic.
Sumire is more attractive and wins by default
Her sister's career would have ended by the time she was 20 so looks are genuinely more important
aren't they practically twins
They have the same model except for a mole
I'm talking about hairstyle and glasses
She's just as obviously forced in as Marie was BUT at least she's well-written. Never felt like I had to "deal" with her presence
Still wins by virtue of 1. Not having to listen to junior high tier "poetry" and 2. Shitty lolrandumb tsundere personality
no cap, fr fr
this game is total shit and i dont understand the praise. its an 80 hour game that has like, 7 dungeons in it total. each of those dungeons the game forces you to go back to 3+ times each. endless hours inbetween dungeons with pointless cutscenes and lame QTE minigames to boost some score to unlock more cutscenes.

>P4G>P5R
Fricking, how
Vocals are terrible and ruin every song.
You can always just fast forward the cutscenes
Based, I spent like 75% of my time in the game fusing shit.
Combat and mechanics in this game are really really good but get overshadowed by the shitty dating sim.
If they implemented technicals and stuff to smtV it would probably be my absolute favorite jrpg for its combat.
Persona caters too hard to normal gays who have no interest in playing the game for its gameplay by making it way too easy
>Music
Frick you.
I agree on everything else though.
NG+ is baby mode easy regardless of the difficulty you select because you keep all of your inventory, and persona registry. even if you want to intentionally handicap yourself, you're bank account will have millions so the upgrades and purchasing is trivialized.
it makes sense for cloak and dagger political corruption shit to be extremely compartmentalized. of all the problems with the writing this isn't one of them imo.
>It's crazy how many people still got filtered by okumura, even to this day.
it's an easy game but I still appreciate there's a frick you skill check boss right in the middle.
yeah I started NG+ on max difficulty and was disappointed how easy it was.
Doing NG+ is the only way to access 2 superbosses though, afaik. That is the only thing that makes me consider it
Play it for lavenza
Might be the most fun fight I had in the game
I don't expect NG+ to be challenging. I just want to 100% the things I haven't done before.
Now this is something to motivate me.
>Okumura
>Hard
What? Excuse me?
My 8 year old beat Okumura on the first try
I had to help him with grinding out the Futaba boss fight, but not Okumura
I think the "Kill All minions before they flee" mechanic filtered a lot of people.
Okumura was THE hardest boss in the game. If you disagree I will assume you're shitposting.
Bro....... your Advanced Fusions???
Some are just simple two way fusions though. Won’t show in advanced
For those, you'll need a fusion calculator I guess. Either that or you could observe that those arcanas with non-advanced final personas are usually those that can be ranked up via fusions with treasure personas, so you could simply fuse your way up by resummoning the treasure personas.
Fool rank 10 has a frick ton of recipes.
tried it on game pass to see what all the fuss was
utter cringe, just fricking terrible characters
anyone who likes this is a moron
4 > 5
Never played a single Persona game.
>persona 4 was my first persona game
>ends up being my least favorite
>persona 5's music is wor-
ummm, sweatie?
what is this then?
Thats cute but have you heard Pandoras original theme?
what was that one persona 1 song that sounded kind of good until this absolutely deranged rapper starts rapping
I dont know. P1 soundtrack was remade for the psp version.
>didn't mention the best non-vocal track
For shame.
The fricking goat bleating kills it for me
I'm getting an uncanny valley feeling while listening to P5 vocal tracks.
I’ve beard some covers on youtube of the vocals where they sang in clear english, but it was uncanny
The japenglish actually sounds better
For me, it's I Believe.
She gets better in Strikers and Royal tracks.
Oh, while on the topic. Is Strikers a spin-off? A continuation of the story? Or what? I've been thinking about either doing P5R NG+ or going for Strikers.
Play striker, P5R is too long for two back to back playthroughs
Strikers is a sequel to P5, not royal
Is there a setting for my chosen waifu from P5 to be.... well... my gf in Strikers as well? Or it our relationship reset in Strikers (which I assume it is, because of course it would)?
My red-haired moeblob won't be in Strikers?? What's the point then
Strikers is a continuation of the original P5, but is still compatible with P5R in general lines.
So Strikers has musou combat?
Oh.....
Asking here because any P3 thread would immediately die
Why do people like Chihiro?
She's psycho, ugly and boring
It validates them, one character clinging to the MC so intensely validates not any personality traits or actions but the existence in itself. I wouldnt say ugly, just average, also some people like characters with glasses.
I romanced her
Was it a mistake?
Everyone who didn't romance Tae made a mistake.
No, she's the best girl after all.
I prefer tae
?t=1002
Wait, what is this from? I never had a romantic anime cutscene. Does that mean I wasn't in the relationship long enough?
Its a special valentines episode they released out of the game, everyone gets a scene even sae
What about the twins or Lavenza?
nope and no sumire
Cringe.
Hifumi chads where are you all
The P4 anime did the same. Pretty sure P3 did too. Seems to be a trope with the persona animes
You feel in the dev trap. You are confirmed below average IQ Happened to me in my first playthrough, never again
here comes an unpopular opinion
P3>P5>P4
I've always treated Mishina like a pain in the ass, but the cutscene where he tries to gather petitions on the street for your release hit me differently and genuinely made me appreciate him as a friend.
The way the fire command is designed like a flowing scarf is so cool
P5 Strikers was unironically the best of the P5 games. I would not be upset with future Purse Owner games following thr Hack and Slash with RPG mechanics playstyle
I've been thinking of playing it, but it's so damn expensive
I'm not broke, but oh my god, it's more expensive than royal ffs
I won't convert it to dollars since that wouldn't be accurate, but I think you can see it anyway
P5R is 599kr and P5S is 659kr, which the highest price you can pay for a brand-new AAA game
That's over 60 dollars for a game from 2016 that's also been on steam for quite some time
Just pirate it. Fitgirl has the full version+dlc for Strikers
She’s already jammed in more than her.
its cracked?
p4g is dogshit
what games do you like then, orc massage?
Look at this TECHNOLOGY
Does she have a crush on you or somethin?
All the girls have a crush on you although Makoto's is the only one that shows up in the main plot. In that Webm though she's trying to spy on you
Takemi is the only female you can say "I love you" to without having to go Romance route and not said as an "lol, just kidding" moment
What a cute dork. No wonder I've chosen her as my future wife and mother of our children.
I was thinking the same thing. I think her pathfinding AI does weird stuff when you go in the bathroom too.
P5 has higher sales and scores across the board by game critics and players alike. P5R is easily one if the best games ever made. P4 is for literally trannies. Played it once and never touched it again. P5 on the other hand have already beaten it 4 times.
I think it's time for Gankertards to take yet another L.
>P4 is for literally trannies.
They seethe endlessly about it though
>P4 is literally for trannies
Did you miss how Naoto spews the YWNBAW copypasta (IWNBAM in this case) all through the story and her slink?

How is the pirated switch version? Not paying for Denuvo shit.
choose for yourself.
Switch has worse textures that's for sure. PC gets better performance as well
People really exaggerate about Makoto
