Personally I don't think we need to add more/get rid of types.

Make a sound type
How many moves would get retyped?
Boomburst
Echoed Voice
Growl
Heal Bell
Howl
Hyper Voice
Lucky Chant
Noble Roar
Perish Song
Relic Song
Roar
Round
Screech
Sing
Snore
Sonic Boom
Supersonic
Uproar
Special moves are fine with Hyper Voice and Boomburst, but we need physical ones
sound type makes sense offensively but not defensively, which is why they're never going to add it
just like poison
I mean, not exactly.
Most of the types are tangible concepts that you can address, at least in some capacity. You can apply literally physical matters to some of them (like how water douses fire) or even some more conceptual ones (like the rather optimistic justice defeating evil aspect of Fighting vs Dark). Poison is less neat than some of the others in its interactions, but it's at least more tangible than sound. In the current type chart, explain how Sound would interact with anything, in both directions.
In the sense of a Pokemon being a Poison type, it would be using its toxins and acids to guard itself. Sound has that somewhat but only for Pokemon like Exploud where their screams would shatter some attacks or something. And Sound can only be either "Pokemon that makes loud noise" or "Pokemon who dances" and the latter doesn't make sense for fending off attacks besides dodging them.
In the sense of type match-ups, Poison makes sense with what its weak to and what its resistant to, most of which comes down to common tropes. In this department, Sound makes no fucking sense. What the fuck would be Super Effective and Not Very Effective against Sound? It can make somewhat some sense offensively, but the defensive type chart for sound might as well have you throw darts with a blindfold on.
Sound type is retarded and on par with making a Fist or Bullet type.
Regal is the only good option for new Pokemon type.
The Ice Type does not exist defensively.
I won't be happy until that's fixed at least
It's supposed to be a glass cannon.
it doesn't work because so many water mons get access to ice moves themselves
add 6 more types tbh, im autistic for the number 24
>Normal type isn't at the top center in this image
#TRIGGERED
There never needed to be more types beyond those in gen 1
GF just needed to balance the types that already existed but they refused to do that while they had the chance and instead introduced more overpowered types like steel and fairy
eh I don't know. sound type just seems obvious at this point. there are multiple pokemon and moves revolving around sound. always good to Hispanice things up and maybe it could help out weaker types like bug.
Well if a sound type does become a thing I won't loose sleep over it.
>Soundfags still exist
>When Regal is far better conceptually and in practice
KNEEL!
There are very few types I can think of.
"Artificial" Porygon/Genosect/Null things that are mad made. Anti-Magic is the "theme" good against Fairy/dragon/ghost/physic weak to fighting/electric/Normal/water/fire
Cosmic. We have tons of mons already that come from outer space or Big concepts like multiverses. It also can be a stand in for Light and Radiation in some cases. The ONLY way that will ever be touched on by GF. Strong against Normal/Fighting/Grass/Dragon, Weak to Steel/Fairy/Physic/bug
MAYBE Fungi, but its already basically rolled in to grass.
Artificial is too specific and not really a “type”. It’s also just Steel or Electric.
Cosmic is too broad and is also just Psychic but dumber.
I never understood the requests for cosmic type, a type specifically for things not from an Earth implies dumb stuff like an Earth type, a Mars type, a Moon type, etc
Also, isn't steel and fairy already stand ins for a light type, with fairy representing light magic or angels sometimes, and steel absorbing in and reflecting light as an attack as seen with flash cannon and mirror shot
>Implying the Earth isn't the center of the universe and the binary upon which all things are judged.
Paradox Pokemon kinda ruined my idea for a "Pre-historic" type that would include the fossils, Ancient Power evos, Lapras, and Eelectross line.
Adding/removing current types will mess up Terapagos' lore. The fact that they boldly slap all the type logos on its shell proves that TPCi won't change the current roster for a long long time
18 is a stupid number. We should add two to make it 20.
>Sound
Obvious choice, very similar to fairy, albeit with less pokemon that would change type, where it would replace normal for the themed moves and pokemon. The most requested type by far, and game freak is at least somewhat capable of listening to fans since they finally gave dunsparce an evolution so I don't think it's impossible.
>Dog
Hear me out, it's a species type like bug or dragon, and I think that S/V is prepping us for it. They added THREE new dog lines, all single type, as well as including Growlithe, Houndour, and Rockruff. Changing their types would let gamefreak shill both classic and new pokemon. Most dog pokemon are also either partly normal, or single type, the exceptions being Houndoom (which would probably be dog/dark) and Hisuan Arcanine (which would probably stay the same).
