How? At worst you can learn a different way to play your char.

that's a good mindset to have and one of the copes I'd take. but I always liked to exaggerate the ramifications to my reputation in my head so they were always stressful to me

Not him but it's more interesting when there are different positions or circumstances that are advantageous to one character or the other and both players are trying to move the fight in their direction vs you both want to do the same move and the winner is whomever pushes the button first.

Mirror matches are not always equal. Some mirrors are 6-4 or 7-3 (in term of difficulty).

      is this bait?

No, seems pretty obvious. A shoto mirror match doesn't play significantly differently than any other match so the players don't have to adjust their playstyle, while a mirror match between more specialized or unorthodox characters will have characters encounter situations they're not used to and will have several of their tools not work properly for that match-up, so that matchup is harder.

It doubles both the reward and the risk
    >You win
You are the superior player, your understanding of the character is on a higher level compared to the opponent.
    >You lose
You are inferior, your understanding of the character is limited and you cannot utilize their full potential.

The Venom mirror is great in Rev 2
    >accidentally trying to hit the opponents lvl 1+ balls
    >QV charging full screen
    >occasionally getting to see the opponent's stylish setups
The mirror in +R looks cool as well and it's a shame I haven't met other Venoms there. I imagine the lack of QV leads the neutral to be more about choosing the right formations, angles and using meter well.

I do not know why the FGC hates mirror matches so much “it doesn’t mean anything” how? If the number one Ken beats the Number 2 Ken would that make him the best Ken player? Empathizes on best Ken player not best player in general also they are fun to both play and watch when the players know what they are doing.

Frauds really hate getting beat with their own character since it shows everyone that they've just been coasting off the characters strength without really understanding it. Happened to Latif at 2022 EVO, he went from being widely considered one of the top 5 players of the game to a joke in a single mirror match.

    >Are able to surgically disassemble him because you know what move he's going to make before he does
    >My main is off-meta so he has to learn the matchup as we go on top of that
I beat one of the best players in my city this way

    >Playing Age of Empires 2
    >Civs are all similar enough at the baseline that at high level there is no "maining" and using one civ is instead called civ picking and considered a casual crutch
    >Used to civpick ethiopians before I decided to start going random to learn the whole roster of civs
    >Get matched up against Ethiopians on hideout
    >He all-in shotel rushes me, but I see it coming because of my familiarity with the civ, seeing no archers by castle age made me sure of it
    >Decide to mix in some scorpions with my knights to soften up the shotels, most players don't know that shotels can trade with most civs knights
    >It works, barely fend off him trying to run under my TC and melt it
    >Try to push on his base but his Shotel output is just fricking insane
    >We both hit imp
    >Hear the distant sounds of onager
    >He's cutting through the woodline into my base that clever bastard
    >Castle it up, bring the paladins into position
    >Flip the opening he's created against him, win the treb war and flood his base with paladins
    >He calls GG, let him know he played amazing and that anyone else at our Elo would have got got by him, and I would have too if it wasn't for my matchup experience.
