allocate more RAM retard
but not too much because that would make things just worse
use java argument -Xmx6G NOT 8G or 6144 MB in your modpack launcher settings
also close any application that hogs ram like discord
moron i tried 4 gigs 6 8 10 12, i tried 20 different jvm arguments, performance mods, all the java distributions, driver versions even upgraded my pc
this garbage is simply unplayable with mods
Too many gays don't know that they can just pull a few mods they like or find interesting and plop them in the mods folder. Just add them one at a time and look at the config file to alter what you want. I don't get how all of a sudden people are shitting on mods when it was universally agreed that modded MC blows vanilla out the water.
Yeah, adding mods to your game is braindead easy compared to how it used to be, and yet these babies still use modpacks since they're easier 0.01% easier to use.
Why would you fuck around with Oredict, configs files and compatibility issues when some autist has already done so? Maybe back when mods had 12 or so items but now there's just too much clutter that can break the game.
Not worth using if they're full of useless bloat mods.
The only one of those that I know of that's actually worthwhile is the one that makes Create and Terrafirmacraft work well together.
Stuff like that is the only actual reason to use modpacks, since they are in essence a mod themselves, with the specific use of making other mods more integrated together.
>FTB mod pack with ray trace would make this the perfect game
i agree
hopefully in 10 more years computers will be powerful enough to brute force through this abysmal code
>hopefully in 10 more years computers will be powerful enough to brute force through this abysmal code
i don't think so anon, the FTB mods were for the most part independently made so they have their own specific shaders and conflict with SEUS. maybe a turboautistjesus was born in the last 10 years or so that is working on this but i doubt it.
>version autism >shit performance because java >mods generally just add more blocks and stuff for you to collect rather than improving the core gameplay
no thanks
>no modern mystcraft >and the mods that do include customizable dimensions but it behind a major resource wall where you have to get 150 morbillion SIGHQOIGHore, and condense it enough to be 400 JOIGZEOGEIJore while also having 58717081250852171762430925678 power to run the damn thing.
>check out modern modpack >half the mods are the same decade old mods with barely any updates >new mods are not even worth talking about and just exist to boost the mod count (le hecking +300 mods!11!)
Nah
Same, I just want a big steampunk ship to sail the seas with.
Hopefully I can also find a mod that makes the oceans bigger so it isn't just infinite pangea with lakes like we currently have,
NTA, but I started playing when Minecraft 1.0 came out. Even though a lot of people shit on it for the lackluster terrain gen along with everything released from b1.8 through 1.6.4 I have the most nostalgia for it.
I also miss the fuckhuge oceans. They made the world feel a whole lot bigger and distant islands and continents more remote.
I do like the idea of huge ass oceans, but without actual buildable ships they're just too boring to traverse.
Unfortunately buildable ships will only ever be a mod thing since Mojang is too incompetent for it.
I'd love it if I could have Raft-like gameplay but in Minecraft, and by "Raft" I'm referring to the game.
those 4 slots near the player model are armor slots. each slot is meant to be used by a specific piece of armor (helmet, breastplate, leggings and boots). you aren't supposed to be able to put anything other than armor in these slots.
Sophisticated storage is good as well, especially with the item bloat vanilla suffers from and create adding a lot. Trash slot is something dumb that is also a game changer. A lot of very basic QOL stuff needs to be added to vanilla but seeing as fallen logs in a birch forest are too hard to code for Nujang I don't see it happening ever.
>A lot of very basic QOL stuff needs to be added to vanilla
That's practically the whole minecraft experience, sometimes you play a modpack where something you do intuitively just fucking works and you think "wait, what did just happen"
To name the easiest, the whole inventory management fraud or having legit big chests, or mere backpacks not locked to a "postgame" trip
Or to name a way more relatable example, I cannot play mere vanilla anymore considering there's no quick way to chop down trees since you dont have any sort of lumberjacking axe or veinminer addon making getting a whole stack of wood take less than 10 minutes
As someone who likes Vintage Story, going into every Minecraft thread and telling people to play it instead is going to have the exact opposite effect. It's insanely annoying. shut the fuck up
Still waiting for a modern RLCraft or equivalent that's compatible with one of the various good FPS increasing mods like fabric/sodium/distant horizons etc
A personally tweaked RLCraft is a really good RPG, but you can't fix the lame terrain gen and other outdated features or lack of good modern mods compatibility. There's genuinely a lot of really good modern mods, but the problem is they're all gimmicky or additive to the game rather than mods that provide actual meat. All the content mods are in the past while all the modern mods are small but neat and convenient, and they're obviously not compatible as very few old mods are up to date.
The only big mod not updated to modern Minecraft is Thaumcraft. The big mods like Terrafirmacraft, the Aether, Twilight Forest, and Create are in 1.18+ Minecraft.
I hate Yungs Better Caves. It makes normal stripmining damn near impossible and makes the world look like swiss cheese.
i would if it didnt run LIKE FUCKING SHIT

Stop using modpacks, those are bloated with a bunch of stupid useless shit, just find a handful of mods at most and use those along with fabric.
Too many gays don't know that they can just pull a few mods they like or find interesting and plop them in the mods folder. >he didnt get to experience an expert modpack with custom recipes and progression
i feel bad for you
Those are still around man. There is that one where you go from being a caveman to Cthulhu worship to space exploration.
sevtech, home

only if i cant run with ray trace shaders, which i can't. FTB mod pack with ray trace would make this the perfect game.

Last time I did was when Tekkit servers were super popular. Gimme a high-fantasy mod pack with tons of content and I'll hop back in.
>gringe-fantasy
Here's the newest and hottest slop for your tasteless ass: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlttJ6GI7n0
looks fun, thanks 🙂
Modders cant balance for shit.
I do.
I'm quite partial to Thaumcraft 4 and Terrafirmacraft.

Minecraft's gameplay cannot be fixed
there has to be a way
of course it can
Ok, how?

What are the best mods and modpacks?
Botania
Witchery
Blood Magic
Thaumcraft
Astral Sorcery
Twilight Forest
The Betweenlands
There is your modpack bro.
Still playing 1.7.10, no fucks given.
The one you make yourself.
I never played minecraft
Sex mod is dead so I have no reason to.
>check out modern modpack
>half the mods are the same decade old mods with barely any updates
>new mods are not even worth talking about and just exist to boost the mod count (le hecking +300 mods!11!)
Nah
There's something about trying to build a nice looking setup in tech mods that just doesn't compute in my brain.
any good modpacks that arent loaded with the mechanical shit?
rate my server
1/10 no funny rat mod
>you now remember
Nah. Too much autism.
I'm waiting for Create Aeronautics to come out
Same, I just want a big steampunk ship to sail the seas with.
Hopefully I can also find a mod that makes the oceans bigger so it isn't just infinite pangea with lakes like we currently have,
I play vanilla 1.5.2
Why, any update between 1.0 and 1.17 has shit terrain generation.
NTA, but I started playing when Minecraft 1.0 came out. Even though a lot of people shit on it for the lackluster terrain gen along with everything released from b1.8 through 1.6.4 I have the most nostalgia for it.

If you're not using Galacticraft, why are you wearing FORTY-TWO blocks of glass on your head?
How the fuck are you wearing a book OP? furthermore, This image is pissing me the fuck off
I've never played Minecraft so i'm curious what about the image pisses you off?
those 4 slots near the player model are armor slots. each slot is meant to be used by a specific piece of armor (helmet, breastplate, leggings and boots). you aren't supposed to be able to put anything other than armor in these slots.
let me piss you off even more
That's a weird way to spell "Minetest".
there's no way minetest has anything over minecraft
this is where modders should be putting their energy instead of getting fucked over by microsoft
I play modded minetest wich is basically the same except for the good physics of minecraft and incredibly deep caves
>play on 1.92.2
>vanilla +
>create
>maids
>ducks
>farmer's delight
it's comfy, but it's not gregtech so /mmg/ screeches if I say anything.
I'm honestly uncapable of functioning without sophisticated backpacks, something so basic yet works so fucking well

Vintage Story added support for paid NA server hosting using G-Portal.
As someone who likes Vintage Story, going into every Minecraft thread and telling people to play it instead is going to have the exact opposite effect. It's insanely annoying. shut the fuck up
yeah i like VS too but seeing it every time i go into a minecraft thread is annoying
why? if i wanted bloat i'd go play path of exile
does anyone want to join a vanilla 1.19.4 server?

The ones with the Create mod.
