Yes, you're having "fun" playing awful shovelware that only entertainst normalgays like you because it's the equivalent of jingling keys before your eyes and requires zero effort to play.

And you're getting mad at other people having fun, which makes you and even bigger loser than you think they are. Congratulations.

Yes, when your "fun" actively impacts my hobby - like your trash invading every tag with no way to filter it out - I have the right to be bitter about it.

Hey buddy I'm gonna try help you out a little because it seems like you need it. These types of games are here to stay, your resistance is literally futile. People are going to keep enjoying them even though you do not. The trick is to adapt to the situation. This goes for real life too. Coming to threads for games/genres that your hate and starting fights will never help you achieve anything. It's really quite pathetic, and I don't mean that as an insult. But everyone can see it, not just me. The good news is you don't need to stay like this. You can even save face, this being an anonymous image board and all. A nice quote I heard once was: there isn't any shame in being weak, the shame is in staying weak. Now that it's been brought to your attention and you're aware of it, you have to choose to change your attitude and try to enjoy yourself without putting others down, or keep heading down that same road, but things aren't going to get better, they're going to get much, much worse. Peace brother, I believe in you.

As the one who recommended it, I'd say it's a bit "harder" than the others and maybe is slow at the start. Still fun and the classes are cool, like the Flamethrower Plague Doctor.

Flamethrower Plague Doctor does sound fun
I'll wait until it comes out of EA, I still have Boneraiser to play and that's finished. Some of these are still getting thoroughly changed, like Death Must Die

    Brotato
    20 Minutes Til Dawn

      Anonymous

loved brotato, hated 20 minutes for having 1 song for every fricking level
Liked and hated nomad survival somehow. I hated it till I got voidwalker and the pet class. The dev made some moronic levels though that make you just wanna do a statue build on a specific level because he was an uncreative moron.

    >20 Minutes Till Dawn - 13 hours
It's okay, pick a character with a perk and a weapon, get upgrades through a run the modify your attacks. Played 13 hours
    >Army of Ruin - 40 hours
Similar to VS pick a character that has perks and pick up weapons + trinkets that evolve. But in this, each weapon/trinket has an element attached to it, and the weapons need a specific amount of elements to upgrade. Like say 2 fire and 1 wind. So pick any combination of trinkets with those elements and you can upgrade it. This allows for more variety in builds than VS. I like this one.
    >Boneraiser Minions - 2.4 hours
I hate this one and it gives my eyes AIDS.
    >Brotato 80.7 hours
Looks like a shitty flash game, first time I played it I hated it. Picked it up again and put 80 hours into it (same as VS). It's round based and after each round there's a shop that lets you buy items and weapons. Great game. Not really similar to VS but you should like it.
    >Death Must Die - 39.1 hours played
Hated it at first because when you attach you slow down, but got used to it and don't mind it. You pick random 3 Gods throughout the run and get upgrades from them only. Diablo style gear drops. Worth a try, but updates are slow as shit.
    >Disfigure - 29 mins
    It's free, try it.
    >Halls of Torment - 23.9 hours
Loved it when it first came out, but updates took too long to come out. Tried it again later and it was okay I guess, but I thought 'meh' and haven't played again.
    >Holocure - 49 minutes
Can't stand it, but it's free. If you're gay you might like it.
    >Nordic Ashes - 34 minutes
I hate this one more than all of them. Feels like shit to play, sluggish and slow. Like a poorly made flash game. Hate it.
    >Rogue Genesia - 2.8 hours
Has stages like Slay the spire where you get overrun. Was fun, but never got back into it.
    >Soulstone Survivors - 16.6 hours
This one was also fun when I started, but late game it's mainly about avoiding the enemy attack zones which is a red circle on the ground

If I had to just buy 1, it'd be Brotato. Top 3 would probably be Brotato, Army of Ruin, and Death Must Die.

Spell Disk is a roguelike with a Vampire Survivors alternate mode included. The idea is that you have a bunch of talismans that build mana in particular circumstances (when you move, when you melee stuff, when you deal cold damage, etc.) and then you assign spells to those talismans that go off when the mana bar is full. The idea being to create an infinite chain of bullshit that stacks off of each other to slaughter your opposition.

Both modes play about the same, moment to moment. Normal game is a collection of individual stages where you spend money on spell/disk/equipment rolls and fight the occasional boss. The Survivors mode has the normal level up mechanic and mostly just plays like a straight Suvivors clone except you can choose to start with a weapon if you like in lieu of a passive bonus.

Deep rock is great visually but the game is unfinished you can tell the devs have no experience with this genre they need to buff or alter the upgrades for the way they spam you with waves in higher levels

have there been any updates since it came out, or have they talked about these issues? do people generally like the game despite this? i know lots of people fellate DRG devs, and although this isn't by the DRG team, i'm sure there's spill over

No idea the steam forums and reviews all address it, the game has been out for a big month I guess they’re only getting started

I only have seen vids on DRG but all weapons look and sound weak as frick.

they’re way too weak for what the game launches at you which sucks because the game itself has locktight controls and nice visually.

          >all weapons look and sound weak as frick
They are. The mobs are such bullet sponges that it doesn't matter what mods you take because you'll get overrun no matter what. Warthog shotgun is fairly close to being okay but the front aiming sucks hard ass.

If you like these types of games I'd highly recommend Helldivers 1, it's on sale atm with all DLC.

Whether you love or hate Helldivers 2, this one is similar but top-down.

4 player co-op, and the thing is, you all share the same screen. You can't run off and do your own thing, you gotta stick with your squad. If you run on the opposite side of the screen to someone else, you're locked where you are. This is a good thing because it incentivises team work, and lots of items are co-op (help someone load a rocket launcher almost instantly for sustained fire instead of 5-second reload on your own).

There's lots of weapons and items (airstrikes, mechs, turrets, APCs, motorbike) all upgradeable. There's 3 enemy factions with tonnes of enemies in each. 15 difficulties, and instead of enemies becoming bullet sponges, they replace them with harder enemies and even give them shields. It gets very chaotic on higher levels.

Like I said, only similarity to VS is it's top-down, but if you like VS I reckon this will be fun.

Lots of people still playing considering its age, no problem finding games.

    Time Wasters
Very fast and hectic. The waves are very rhythmic and less random. For this one your have to get into the zone because movement is extremely important.

    Rogue Genesia
This one is crazy if you like to break stuff. You think there is a limit to how hard you can combine shit and stats. This game goes way over it. There comes a point when you cant see shit anymore and your 5k PC starts lagging. Your whole screen is becoming enemy or attack.

    Hall of Torment
Good retro style game. Everything feels very deliberate.

    Soulstone Survivors
Another good one of the endless power creep games. I like it but it can feel very "loose"

  25. 3 weeks ago

Halls of Torment is better in pretty much every way. it also doesn't have "lore" written by annoying troony Jim Sterling. (yes, the Vampire Survivors dev really hired Jim Sterling)

don't like the changes the rerelease did since it forced you to play garbage missions to unlock perks and weapons and that turned the gameplay shit until you had everything unlocked
