Hunchback isn't really a kid's movie in my experience. I remember being bored out of my mind when I went to see it as a 9 year old but I could appreciate it a lot when I saw it again a decade later.
Skill issue, I saw it at 7 in theaters and thought it was the most magical thing I’d ever seen. Granted the genius of its storytelling only comes about with knowledge on how Catholicism works. Frollo denying his sins over the confiteor is the single most powerful scene in animation.

Thats because KH3 came out in the same year as Frozen 2. Frozen 2 came out at the right time and grossed more money than its predecessor not to mention all the fricking Anna/Elsa dolls that little kids or waifugays bought.
Frozen itself was revised a bunch of times to rewrite Elsa out of being the villain, so I wouldn't be surprised with how long KH3 was in production if they didn't try to base the world on earlier ideas for the movie. It would explain why Larxene randomly makes you go through an ice castle, which would work better if it was Elsa's castle and you were supposed to be working your way up to the top to a boss battle with her, then Disney forced them to change it.

That’s a real issue, the plot lines of the worlds should be getting pretty fricked up as a result of the events in the games. It would be neat to see the characters and storyline changes that happen as a result. It’s too bad we don’t get to see that happening, like all the Disney villains in the first game teaming up.

You know I was going to say, well someone like Meg had a clear reason why because she was forced to do it and so they took any real choice away from her, but I guess that's the point now that I think about it huh. Lot of these situations teaches to give these people another chance, but 9/10 it's people who didn't have a choice in the matter. Unless it's just bad writing, where there is a logical choice, but that's beyond the point. Point being that's extremely rare for it to be like that in real life. The person who betrays you in a way you'll actually encounter will have a clear choice in the matter and they choose you weren't important enough.
I guess this kind of mindset in films and games and so on really would have unintentional consequences on what it's trying to teach younger people. Well, there was this one horror flick announced that's explicitly based on the public domain Winnie-the-Pooh books rather than Disney's red-shirt Pooh, but either way even with public domain as a factor, there's still the problem that no one's going to care about whatever anyone has in mind when so many of these properties, characters, names and all have become effectively synonymous with the rat's corporate congregation, and any public domain spins will be ignored because nostalgia is all anyone cares about anymore, or they'll desperately try to fool you into thinking they're the same slice as Disney without treading too far on any sensitive legal toes, which is what's been going on already with all the old Fairy Tales for decades.
