Post rumors from olders games that a lot of people used to believe.
>If you "talk" to the white stone in Mossdeep X times, it will trigger an event with the rocket and you will be able to go on the moon to catch Jirachi/Deoxys
>If you write "C E L E B I" with 6 Unown in your team they will transform into a Celebi

the mew truck strength bs.
The inaccessible room in the shop/house just southeast of OP's pic. I heard that an npc will allow you to enter that room if you enter a correct phrase at Dewfort Town
Soothopolis?
You actually could get into there with e-reader shit that no one ever did
The cards for the trainer's weren't released in the west
As a kid I fell for "jumping off a ledge will make your game glitch and kill your pokémon" until I saw that it was required on Route 4.
The first set for R/S was.
I don't know if the servers are still online (I did this in 2019), but all of the gen 4-5 events and new ones for the azure flute and unreleased pokétech apps are/were available through configuring the wifi settings to connect to unofficial servers. https://www.shacknews.com/article/108512/how-to-unlock-gen-4-and-5-pokemon-mystery-events-in-2018
Wasn't there something to do with the Swamp House in X/Y? The Hex Maniac appears for a moment or something then vanishes and the house never has anything happen with it again?
There actually is a weird scene where a hex maniac appears behind you, the lights flicker, and then she says something along the lines "sorry, it's not you" and disappears. But it's in an elevator in one of the buildings in the main city.
>If you "talk" to the white stone in Mossdeep X times, it will trigger an event with the rocket and you will be able to go on the moon to catch Jirachi/Deoxys
Crazy that I'm not even american yet this one I heard in my country.
The internet already existed back then you know
It wasn't as widespread as nowadays though.
Widespread enough
>If you "talk" to the white stone in Mossdeep X times, it will trigger an event with the rocket and you will be able to go on the moon to catch Jirachi/Deoxys
I heard a variation of this where instead, it was talking to the Mossdeep scientist who always gives a different launch number daily and on launch #100, he lets you get on the rocket to fight Jirachi/Deoxys. I still can't believe the ORAS remakes took that idea and made it an entire post game episode about mega-fug.
I heard both. The rock was for Jirachi, and the Rocket Scientist launches were for Deoxys.
>If you write "C E L E B I" with 6 Unown in your team you will transform into a Celebi
>standing outside olivine gym with a bunch of unown desperately trying to figure out how to spell houndoom in 6 letters
no. you ruined the joke. you and your gay bullshit ruined the fricking joke. it’s not funny anymore. frick you.

Worked
>If your Mossdeep rocket counter reaches 300 and you talk to the scientist there you will get to go to the moon and fight Deoxys
I left my GBA and later DS on for so long and I think I ended up wtih 360 rockets or something, pretty sure the rocket count doesn't even need your game to be on but just relies on the internal battery
There was a bunch of shit about Unown going around my school. None of us ever caught all of them to confirm or deny because we were impatient kids. Once I got my gameboy taken away by my parents for trying to catch more instead of doing my homework though
every variation of do x and then y to get to bill's garden in RBY; like somehow going back to the SS anne and getting a ticket that allows access to it, things related to the mew truck, physically surfing up and around the water to the right of his house to get there, or using the teleporters in his place. there's probably a bunch more
Man, why did they put that little space behind Bill's House. It was so enticing.
pretty sure they don't have roof sprite tiles with cave tile behind them so they had to just put white behind it.
they could've made the house lower or higher on the map I'm sure, or changed the layout in SOME way where it didn't look like that but I think that's the technical reason
>bill's garden
Frick, I forgot about that one. The holding A+B+Down thing too.
Where do you live anon? In Germany kids used to say the exact same thing
Kids from SEA countries used to say the same thing too. I guess it's universal. They learn it from google or something and then spread the rumour to kids who still have no access to the internet back then.
I'm Brazilian and that was also a thing in here.
Those about getting Arceus in D/P
>Beat the league then use Strength behind your house
>Connect to mystery gift at a specific time and date
Man i wish i knew about the retire trick at the time. Then again i wasn't even able to tweak properly so it probably wouldn't have helped.
The mystery gift thing is technically true
Yeah but obviously the rumors never gave you actual event dates kek
And events aren't at a specific hour. Also i'm not sure Arceus was ever distributed online. Only one i ever got without cheating or glitching was at a store
How has there never been a puzzle involving organizing Unown?
They even did a similar puzzle with the Regi quest
Pokemon Clover has it as part of the dedgi quest
the supercheats website was full of rumors mixed in with actual tips
>If you give a shuckle a berry in gen 2 it will eventually turn into a berry juice (this is true)
>If you wait even longer that berry juice will become a rare candy (this is not)
In FireRed/leaf green if you defeat the champion x(100 usually was the number) amount of times and completed the Pokedex you unlock a fight against Professor Oak.
Ones I personally tried:
>if you beat the E4 100 times, Oak gets fed up and challenges you
>if you beat Oak, the building the old man was building becomes your Gym
>Mew under the truck
>you can catch Pikablu from a secret passage in the Power Plant if you do some sort of time trial thing with the Electrode/Voltorb
>pikablu
>mewthree
>mew under truck
>pokégods behind Bill's house
They're the big ones from back in Gen 1 I remember hearing kids speculating about. I'll be honest, the only other bloke my age I knew who played Pokémon didn't spread gossip like that and as we were both in our mid-teens, we both understood what was on the cart was all she wrote and there wasn't any "hidden" pokémon/events (he had a Nintendo official magazine guide he loaned me and as that didn't mention any hidden or secret stuff beyond Mew and it was the UK version, so it even mentioned Pikablu and discredited it, I didn't bother digging further).
I was devastated when I found out Jirachi wouldn't show up on the 100th rocket launch on the wishing stone. I always thought the mew truck was bs, but that one actually sounded plausible.
the mr. fuji fight
I heard that if you watch a certain anime episode while simultaneously playing Gold or Silver on your console, if you go to Kurt, he will give you a working GS Ball. And if you offer the GS Ball to Ilex Shrine, Celebi will appear.
Why did they never actually put cool secret shit like this in the games?
At least there were cool glitches. Still blows my mind you can actually get Mew in red and blue. Wish I'd known how when I was 10
