A lot of old Falcon games. One group was working on Legend of Heroes III: Tale of the White Witch but they gave up like 5 or 6 years ago. Last time I went to their forum, the only post made in the last year was Nightwolve, of all people, still bitching about XSEED to nobody.
Another one was Legend of Xanadu 1 & 2. The group claimed they fully translated it and even got voice actors and that they just needed a few more months to finish everything. That was also around 5 years ago.
But hey, at least we’ve got those 35 different translations of FFVI.

Yeah but a lot of that was machine translated by Japanese ESLs and it shows. Plus they dumbed down the way combat worked in that version. It was originally sort of like Growlanser but they turned it into your standard turn based JRPG battle system.

I hate to be the one to tell you this but most are machine translations. Even official translations. Those jobs pay horribly and fan translations don't pay at all, so the only people who do them are people who aren't fluent and they rely on machine translation and usually just rewrite the output to sound like more natural English.

Really depends on what version you're basing this on. Compared to the original, the PSP combat takes infinitely more IQ, because the original is literally just you watching combat play out. In the Windows version you're actually able to input commands during battle.

You literally can't dumb down the autoplaying garbage that is the "combat system" of the original. Thank god there's barely any gameplay in that VN disguised as an RPG maker game.

The is no full translation of the full game and there never will be because modern persona trash fans are fine with their dogshit low quality "modernized" PSP port.

Yes but modern Atlus will fuck up the remake. They are remaking P3 as we speak and I am already certain they will censor it. Hell, they even censored P5 in the newer versions even though it was already toned down compared in the first place.
What make P1 so special and important is that it's the ONLY persona game that talks about psychological concept of the persona itself. It is the only persona game that explains the C.G. Jung's hypothesis and concepts that lay out the fucking groundwork and base for what personas and shadows are and how they work.
Because of this shit Persona gays and zoomers use the word "persona" completely wrong and created a new fucking definition where it suddenly became interchangeable with the word "character", which has absolutely NOTHING TO DO what Jung's definition of persona was meant to convey.
With an entire route removed (the game splits into two routes shortly after the start, you can't access one of the routes at all except through cheat codes, but it isn't translated), and various Americanizations, like making a character black for diversity.
The PSP version is different. Different script, different atmosphere, different music. If you call changing the end product into something different as "fixing it" then sure.
Of the half a dozen games I was waiting for to get fan translations, one came out but looks like shit (Sakura Wars), one came out and is apparently near unplayable with shit translation (Amagami), and the rest haven't even been touched in the 10 years since I started learning Japanese, and I played all of them years ago. And all the sequels. And a lot of fantastic games I hadn't even heard of before.
Let's be honest, if you really wanted to play these games, you'd just learn the language.
Amagami sure did deserve far more respect than the fan """"translation"""" gave it. I usually don't feel sorry for EOPs but Amagami is a pretty legendary game that represents the peak of dating simulation VNs, and honestly, even those damn EOPs deserved better too.
It's a game that, to this very day, still gets hundreds if not thousands of social media posts daily, fan art, and even official stuff like the ASMR series with the same CVs from the game. There's no clear answer besides 塚原先輩 as to who the best girl is, because they're all excellent in their own way. And it's perhaps one of the easiest of its genre to get into, since you don't need to consult a guide at any point to confirm which obscure thing you have to do next, or which combination of stats you have to raise in x or y order to unlock event z at points a, b, and c of the timeline (where all 3 are easily missable).
So, how did such a respected title get such a disrespectful translation effort that spanned over a decade, only to be released in a buggy, unfinished, inaccurate state? It's a mystery. But moreover, it was so bad that it singlehandedly killed any interest in it, when it SHOULD have been opening a door for people to enjoy it instead.
What effort? Using retroarch you press a button and it translates the screen. The only thing required is patience for the AI to do its thing every time you press the button; and occassionally using a guide for some stuff the AI fails at
