I played hundreds of hours of the original Resident Evil 4 on GameCube, and hundreds of hours more on the HD release on Steam.
I've played just about every mainline Resident Evil title from 1-6 (skipped out the first person games) and all of the REmakes.
I'm more of a Resident Evil fan than you will ever be, dumbass gay, and I hate what they're doing with this game.

I'm playing RE6 on a PS4, you can break barrels and boxes in that game for ammo and health, except no one ever tells you that, you have to walk right up next to the barrel and then the game gives you an "R2" prompt to kick it open. This is cool because it rewards perceptive players. Sometimes they'll hide some boxes in the background underneath some steel shelves, and it's up to you to figure out that there are breakable boxes underneath.
Now imagine all the boxes were dripped in yellow highlighter, how boring and tedious this becomes. To point it out to you like you're a retard. Are you a retard? Do you not mind having a game insult your intelligence? Do you like less mechanics in your games and less overall fun? Then it's no wonder you don't see the issue with the yellow boxes. I find unintelligent retards can't understand why it's an issue for others.
It's actually not just "being insulting" but it's a failure of game design.
Destructible barrels in the original were clear and distinct even in poorly lit environments because all of them were interactable and not in cluttered spaces. I can't actually remember a single barrel in the original that couldn't be destroyed.
Whereas in the remake, these boxes blend in to their environments because it's full of clutter, and not all of them are destructible.
As for the trail of yellow paint leading up to boss fights, yeah that's pretty insulting, but it's probably for the same failure of game design. The game designers just weren't as smart with positioning and level design, so they have to resort to "game-y" crap like that even when shills claim the game is trying to have >muh realism (an absurd point considering past REmakes and the chainsaw parry but nobody ever said shills were smart).

They literally glowed in the original. And if you think you're perceptive to notice barrels in RE4,5 or 6 then you are a bigger baby than your anger about highlighting objects already lets out.

And as said, the objects were LITERALLY glowing in the original, and easily spottable from a mile away. So we just exchanged one highlighting with another.
In fact, yellow paint is 10x more immersive than random glowing, because its at least part of the world and not a gaming thing.

I have an idea. How about if I swing the camera to look at a yellow barrel, the ammo just pops into my inventory and automatically arranges itself into the most space saving configuration. I've finished the original RE4 and the REmake4 demo both over 10 times now, I'm generally happy with it but these are my complaints-
>Leon could absolutely be made to control tighter, he has too much inertia while walking and the deadzones on controllers seem off
>Leon can't kick open doors anymore, can't shoot through doors anymore either.
>There seems to be more RNG at play, enemies are less consistent in what gets them stunned, makes combat less skill-based
