why
But anon, this IS the PS2 emulation scene.
If you want to talk about how an emulator is ruining something by existing let's talk about Project64 and RetroArch.
I'm not arguing PCSX2 is good, it isn't. But it also isn't ruining anything because no alternative exists yet.
When I was in high school PCSX2 was the only option. What happened?
a "scene" requires multiple parties to compete and /or contribute in it
there is no parties other than PCSX2 itself
obviously PCSX2 is not good, but it can't ruin a literally non existent scene, or one in which it is the only party
nothing happened, PCSX2 is still the only option, OP is just a gay as usual
>there is no parties other than PCSX2 itself
play!chads laugh at this man
>play!chads
PCSX2 might be shit, but at least the vast majority of the entire PS2 library is 100% playable on it with either no glitches or minor ones, meanwhile can barely play 1/3rd of that, and most of the playable games have multiple glitches or slowdowns
claiming Play! is a party in the PS2 emulation scene is like saying the 7 yo kid who can barely bounce a basketball is a competitor in the NBA
retroarch isnt an emulator! Hahahaha! owned
Yeah? Retroarch is literally just a front end for libretro cores. Are you still on your gay shit because the Frickstation developer compiled and released a libretro core and then got mad because oops the license I HAVE to use means people are allowed to use the codebase?
Or worse
MAME homosexualry?
I was literally defending RA take your meds troony
eat 20 tri ball
QRD on project 64? Why is it ruining emulation?
well all I know is it has some texture problems with DK64, but there might be more than that
Project 64 is the reason Nintendo 64 emulation is so behind. For the longest time it was the only viable option, then the dev just walked away for a decade and hoarded his code.
This is exactly why you don't support closed source projects. The same thing happened to Dreamcast when Demul was abandoned.
Same with PS1. Until DuckStation PS1 emulation was fricking trash.
>played the true version of Persona 3 and DMC 1 fine
absolutely based. frick all of these "HD" half-baked seventh generation re-ports on Steam
>dude it's the only good way to play Persona 3
so is there a solution for the garbage misaligned minimap at all? or the game slowing down massively during the start of combat or saving?
Not that guy but I just spent 4 hours of my life setting up P3FES in PCSX2 with the HD mod and cheats and it was the biggest pain in my ass of my life, but the game runs smooth as butter. PCSX2 has gotten so much better in the last couple years than it has ever been.
Minimap no but that's a small issue for me. As for saving just use a save state- PCSX2 simulates the PS2 too accurately in its annoying clunkiness.
I have seen YT footage of the P3P remaster that they are currently selling on Steam and I dare say emulation of a 15 year old game is better.
Which versions of this are clean? Latest version I've used is 1.0.0 because I know some hacker who fricks with RATs joined the project around 2014. Did they ever leave or is PCSX2 still risky?
>is PCSX2 still risky?
What do you mean? Did the program gets injected with malware or something?
PCXE or whatever the PS1 emulator is is the one thats shit. PCSX2 is fine
Works on my machine
Works on my machine
it's been a great emulator. started armored core 2 and it surprised me how good it looked compared to how I remember it on the ps2. When you set it up right ofc.
post your matthias fight
I wish it fricking took bluetooth controllers.
I'm trying to play Ace Combat 5 on the couch but it doesn't fricking work, doesn't help that DS4 is also a useless pos.
Use a better OS that supports DS4 out of the box.
???? It literally works out of the box with ds4, are you using a version from like 2016?
works fine with my 8bitdo
I think we got a schizo on the loose.
I would've agreed that PCSX2 sucks if I had been talking about it from 2015, but I just played through the entire AC PS2 trilogy recently in nigh-perfect emulation. So I can't really think anything bad of it.
>trilogy
there's like 8 AC games on the PS2
based raven, but anon means ace combat
there is only one AC
>now let's see which one of us deserves the title of last raven
jack-o you fricking hack
>anon STILL can't get Ratchet & Clank to work on his toaster
Ever since switching to the nightly build and using Vulkan, I've gotten such smooth performance, rare if any graphical glitches, and everything just looks and works fine. I'm actually now just focused on having fun playing vidya games now, wow.
Wanted to try Wild arms 3 recently but all the text boxes are like this with blurry letters, dots and sometimes extra vertical lines. I could just deal with it I suppose
software renderer
But then no more 60fps?
why?
Did you already enable 'Wild Arms Offset'?
I see now that I am using version 1.5 and will give this a try
Wild Arms 3 needs specific configuration for some reason. They even made a special hack for this sole game.
After upgrading from 1.5 to 1.7 and applying the Wild Arms fix everything seems to look fine. I guess PCSX2 really does work
see
New version immediately crashes vice city for some reason. I was super disappointed because that new version looks like it should be really good.
Have you tried uping the internal resolution? GTA vice city was blurry as shit until I set that to 6x native.
works on my scene
How's dmc 3 se? Should I just play the hd version?
I've been playing some PS2 kino lately. I upscale the shit and some of those old-ass games games look genuinely better than new switch releases. It's fricking crazy. Sony wins again baby.
True and they run at 60fps. And many games even have wide-screen patches.
I get a false positive (apparently) when running this.
It's no PPSSPP but I chuckled
post pcsx2 kino
I only use real hardware
>a new day
>load up PCSX2
>another new update to download
>see notes
>so many ultra obscure fixes for ultra obscure games
It might sounds weird but this actually puts a smile on my face each time knowing that the devs are so thorough and caring for even the smallest literally who things just to ensure everything will ultimately eventually work. Attention to detail is what makes soul.
>proceeds to send death threats to aethersx2 dev to remove competition
why are they like this?
big if true
But that's the moronic kids and indians when the emulator doesn't work at 100% speed on their$100 2015 phones
Is parsec a good way to do netplay with pcsx2?
No.
Do the DMC games emulate well on PCSX2?
You're probably better off emulating the ps3 hd version.
Works on my machine.
The only thing it needs is proper netplay.
It looks like the version they are about to put out is completely different from the current stable version. That might be promising.
Although, when I tried the new "nightly" version as they call it, which is what they are recommending, it crashed as soon as GTA vice city got out of the opening cutscene and into the looading/menu screen.
The old one has some bad slowdown with the same game, but at least it works. Took me a couple of hours of adjusting settings to minimize that to a more acceptable level. Couldn't get rid of it completely though.
MGS3 still runs like ass.
I was pretty fricking frustrated recently by the lack of up to date guides on how to get a DS3 working with PCSX2 but it's an alright emulator.
the DS3 wasn't doing you any favors, especially over bluetooth.
NO YOU CAN'T EMULATE VIDEOGAMES
YOU HAVE TO BUY REMASTERS
i imagine pcsx2 has been the only option all this time because most people that wanna play ps2 just have a modchipped/softmodded ps2 loaded with all the games they could possibly want anyway
>158 million units worldwide
nagh, because it just werks!
i was playing persona 4 back in 2008 on a shitty AMD 5200x2 with not too many issues
