Every game should work like this

      Why?

The idea that every quest both should and needs to be completed in the same save/character is responsible for a lot of bad design decisions

lol wut? no. if anything it's good since exploration should reward you with more content. the other way gates you out entirely UNLESS YOU RESTART THE ENTIRE GAME, which is moronic, especially if you're only interested in a single playthrough or one character.

That’s fricking moronic, given that the whole side quest does not merit a fricking replay. In fact NO side quest is worth a replay, that’s fricking moronic. There’s no reason.

Maybe you should've explored and played the game instead of rushing through.

I did explore, there’s tons of useless shit to do. Even all other npc side quests are fricking boring and annoying to get to half the time. In fact, by the second playthrough, you’re more concerned of power leveling, making a different build and a different waifu and BBI because most of the game is a fricking slog by then.

                >I did explore
sounds like you didn't if you can't complete quests.

                Anonymous

You know what? Maybe some of it is on me for not wanting to fricking backtrack for the 50th time to get a completely optional (and boring) side quest because I want the equally brain dead main story to fricking progress.

                Anonymous

So if it's boring and bad, why do you care so much you missed time gated content?

                Anonymous

For me its because its a shitload better than leveling up with the generic quest board shit.

Don't bother, DD fanboys are some of the most defensive morons in existence. Bringing up any flaw with the game like time gated quests or the horrible stat system will just make them run in logic circles pretending it's the pinnacle of game design.

It's a video game. There's no reason it doesn't have to.

          It's a video game.
Normally in a game, it's implied that the person is in a predicament just as you find them. They aren't constantly in a predicament, it's just that you so happen to come across them at the right time because it's a video game and there's a level of suspension of disbelief that you have to have when playing a video game.

The secret to romance in DD is to bully people. You can bump into them repeatedly and eventually you will hear a noise telling you your rep with this person has dropped. You can do it faster by attacking them, throwing shit at them, picking them up and throwing them, w/e and there are no long term consequences but bumping into them wont cause them to run or get guards trying to arrest you. Don't worry about going to jail, you either break out or pay a small fine and nothing else changes.

You can tell when somebody is neutral/friendly/max rep based on a noise that plays and an aura that surrounds them when you enter dialogue with them, when they are maxed they have that blush around their cheeks. Never had an issue getting who I wanted and it's fun having an excuse to bully people.

        >bumping into people lowers rep
That's so fricking funny and at the same time a really nice, genuine attention to detail for such a weird little affinity system.

The game has an endless ng+ cycle for a reason, and it takes no time at all to speedrun it when you can teleport everywhere, you could beat it in an aftenoon. I have also had zero issue seeing all the cutscenes ever since my first playthrough, the games gives you a teleportation thing the first time you go to the everfall.

Fastest I managed it was roughly forty minutes. Actually looking at the Speedrun records and that puts me in the top 50, holy shit. I never knew. Short stack Ranger with explosive arrows and that wind ability was how I did it. Sick.
