*projectile vomits in ur face while jumping around at light speed while taking a million missile hits*
I think these guys alone are ruining what could've been a 10/10 game. The battles are the epitome of unfun.

is this a jaffepost?
No, I just think the guys are annoying.
They literally have the same pattern for every fight. The only "annoying" chozo fight is the first one to get used to the pattern and the Elite Gold chozo right before the final boss since he deals so much damage. Just jump when he does his vomit attack and jump + dash when he does his spear attacks, simple as.
Git gud lmao
have you tried using your infinite jump to not get hit
These guys were so easy that fighting them again and again was just kind of tedious.
You just stink, OP.
YOOOO HE JUST CALLED YOU SMELLY
Take a shower OP
If OP says it's unfun and you say it's unfun ("tedious"), then do you actually disagree?
>breeze through all of them first try
>absolutely bodied by the gold one for some reason
Gold one has faster reaction times and deals more damage per hit, he is easily the hardest chozo fight. I would even say if you don't have his patterns down, he can be harder than Raven Beak at times.
I would also add that it's not as easy to break the gold chozo's shield.
You can break their shields? I never bothered to try, I just storm missile'd their asses (literally) after each attack.
The soldiers occasionally do a tackle with their shield you can parry to break it. The gold chozo requires you to yank it from him with the grapple break on top of the parry
Haha, another one filtered. The vomit is easy to avoid, just flash shift. You can even tell when he isn't going to do it because he roars before jumping off the side. Every single enemy in the game has an easy tell for all of their attacks, which is making this one of the easiest Metroid games ever to go no damage.
They're more fun to fight than the robot Chozo in my opinion
they are too easy
You can cancel free aiming with a flash shift.
Knowing this is the difference between having a hard time and defeating these guys freely.
they are too sexy
Bait, jump, dash behind, pelt with misses, counter if charge up is blue. Easy peasey.
Filtered moron.
The only bad thing about these fights is that despite adding something new each time, they never really got hard enough.
Eh? These are some of the best fights in the game. The chozo bots are way more annoying
but they're easier than the blade robo birds?
These guys really don't have many moves and all of them are easily dodged.
I just beat the first one.
Did Samus release the X on purpose?
No. When you enter the door shuts behind you. When you leave it is wide open.
It can be safely assumed that Samus didn't do that on purpose.
What gives you that idea?
If you're using missiles against these guys, you're doing it wrong. Your cannon tears through them.
wait is this a guy or a robot
It's an X copying a chozo warrior
so the first one you encounter doesn't do the 'turn into something demented' phase for gameplay reasons, that wasn't just a regular chozo guy?
What? All of them do the mouth splitting open thing
okay you encounter first guy in Elun, and you're right
Use the plasma beam to kill them in 15 seconds
>while taking a million missile hits
lmao the bosses in Dread are made of paper, get good moron
>Flash Shifts behind you while holding R
>Triple targets you with Storm Missiles
Heh nothing personnel kid
these guys really disappointed me, they only have 2 attacks (sometimes 3!!) and are only fought in flat empty box rooms. the chozo robots were much more interesting and way more difficult
>*projectile vomits in ur face while jumping around at light speed while taking a million missile hits
The game literally gives you one of the most broken weapons in the series with the storm missiles, how bad can you be?
For me the problem was I didn't realize you could still charge Storm Missiles even if you're not holding L until I fought the Gold one.
Also, the one that shows up after Samus succs the EMMI is fricking horrible, because there's some barely-noticeable visual effect or something that makes the game's framerate extremely unstable during that fight, so suddenly I'm trying to twitch-react to animations that I can only see half of because I'm playing the game on Nintendo's decade-old hardware.
>you could still charge Storm Missiles even if you're not holding
Please explain
Storm missile charges so long as you hold R.
You don't need to be in free aim to start the charge cycle.
I think you're just bad, OP. The only boss I genuinely had trouble was the Escue and mainly because of it's really inconsistent attack.
What are you talking about, the x morons were the best part of the game.
git gud
t. shitter who died like 15 times to the first one of these guys
Is Hard Mode just a damage increase? I honestly can't tell.
That's really all I noticed. It's my current favorite way to play the game. If you speedrun it, then bosses are pretty punishing since you won't have a lot of energy tanks.
I thought all of the bosses were punishing as hell even on the standard difficulty.
Once you know them well enough, it becomes a lot easier. My third run of the game was on hard and I haven't looked back. Hard is just too much fun.
>tfw just finished my first run and it was over seven hours
Not sure if I want to jump into a hard mode run or not yet
I waited to play hard until I was able to get normal down in under 4 hours, which was three playthroughs. By then I felt confident enough with less resource expansions collected to take it to the next level for a fourth one and it was a hell of a lot of fun. Like the other guy I'm probably gonna be sticking with hard from now on. Enemies deal more damage but they don't seem to tank more damaged from your attacks so as long as you're good about just not getting hit it's basically the same game, just with a more severe penalty when you do.
nice feet
Jump when they twirl their spear, when they ooze puke, go ALMOST directly under them, walk towards wall after they start, aim up, missile time. Repeat. Easy as pie.
Most of them appear after Storm Missiles, which make them a total joke. Even then their pattern is just stab>wall jump>vomit>ground slam. They're even easier than the robots.
Come on anon, of all the enemies to complain about at least pick a difficult one.
OP here, I was just talking about the last one you fight which was annoying because it seemed like you needed to wait until you could counter the attack to use the grapple to destroy his shield. I got gud and used the storm missiles to kill him pretty easily. You can all calm down now.
filtered homosexual
Just shoot them.
JAFFA
KREE
>Unsupported file type x5
pretend I posted a chozo soldier
>only have three moves, all of which are easy to avoid
>don't even have a ton of health and give you plenty of time to shoot them
This is bait, yes? Gonna assume it is. Either way I do wish they had more to them since it's just the same fight each time aside from when they bring shields and when one requires an extra step to break said shield. But they look cool and aren't around enough to become annoying.
The fastest damage is actually to use ice missiles while mashing beam in between. While they're on the wall, use storm missile.
People forget the storm missiles. Use them. They do a shit ton of damage.
Also their patterns are incredibly easy to learn. By the time you fight the first one you should have the flash shift ability which helps. If they use their projectile vomit, literally walk up to them and dash back. Stop filtering yourself from playing Metroid dread, I promise you if you use your brain you will learn.
Some anon said Storm did less DPS than Ice. Is that wrong?
Storms do deal less damage than Ice overall, but I don't know about DPS. Ice missiles for much slower and Storm missiles have the added benefit of being homing so you still hit enemies even if you have to dodge last second
a trio of storm missles does slightly less damage than one ice missile. which is more effective depends on how consistently you can land direct missle hits. if the boss has 4-5 lock points, or you're having to move around a bunch, it's usually better to lock on and let the homing take care of it for you. if the boss is standing still, or your aim is really good, prefer ice missiles
I want to frick that.
>hold R, press Y
>repeat three times
They're hard the first time but they're easy enough to learn how to deal with them, and coming back on a Hard playthrough and shredding them like they aint shit because you've gotten so much better at the game by then is incredibly satisfying.
