PSP Go

What's the Gankererdict? Has the emulation improved since the last time I used one of these things, over 10 years ago? Did it have any decent exclusives? General PSP thread too if you aren't a GoChad.

PSP Go is unironically a scam.

    >worse screen

        this too
you literally can't use UMDs with it, which is made worse by the pitifully slow wifi, it takes like 5 hours just to download 1 game

back when it was current, you could download your PSN purchases to your PC with media go and then copy them to a PSP

which was a non-issue for anybody with the single braincell capable of hacking it.

Black person, everyone with a hacked PSP uses digital only. UMD read speeds are dogshit.

The go wasn't hackable on release morons. It took several years for it to become fully hackable and by then the PSP was slowly being phased out.

The point is to hack it. It's the only PSP model that doesn't need some chink adapter and comes with pretty okay memory sizes for the device to boot.
But you can't claw with it. That's both a good and bad thing.

      >worse screen
It has a god tier screen, best of the PSP's.

What in the absolute frick are you talking about?

Thing is awkward as frick to use though and the lack of dual analog sticks and four shoulder buttons limits it's PS1 backwards compatibility.

can't be pretty. I have the vita tv dock and it's literally just a fricking piece of plastic that holds it upright but it's still like 200$ on ebay.

Resellers want almost $300. I guess mines just staying on my alarm clock.

why the frick does the vita tv need a dock

          Anonymous

It's pretty light and has a tendency to get moved around by the cables you have plugged into it which is annoying, it just makes it easier to keep it in one place. I bought mine for like 5$ when they were actually selling vita junk in stores though, it's literally just a piece of plastic.

that's the vita dock, which is stupid but not outrageously expensive, I'm talking about the pstv dock which is absurdly overpriced

not really, the PSP is pretty much at its limit of what it can do home brew wise and basically every dev moved onto more capable devices. It's still alright if you're content with GBA and SNES emulation being kind of slow.

Also I remember finding some DS emulator that seemed like it might actually be able to run decently if they kept working on it but I think it was abandoned, which is a shame.

slow? What do you mean? GBA and SNES games were running full speed on PSP back in like 2006.

I sold my Vita, felt terrible about it but the d-pad was busted and I got a PS4 nearly for free out of it. Looking back, wish I kept the Vita and just repaired it.
