Devil May Cry 5 is the only good one, because it's the only one I've played. The rest don't even exist in practice, only in concept.

What did you like about it?

Liked doing combos. Liked the dumb cheesy story, too. Mostly just liked pressing buttons and seeing cool combos. Especially liked when I got so fed up with furies I just went and practiced against them for a few hours until I could reliably parry them into a death combo.

I never found furies that difficult. Which difficulty were you on?

I got part way through DMD, maybe about mission 14 or 15? I should go back to it tbh, the game is worth finishing. I just took a break, and then needed room on my HDD, and DMC5 didn't make the cut.

    DMCV ≥ NEO > Bayonetta 3 > Ace Combat 7 > NMH3 > KH3
They're all pretty good, though. KH3 is just a 6 or 7/10 while the others are 8/9/10s.

    NEO > AC7 > DMC5 > KH3 > Bayo 3 > NMH3

Haven't played Bayo or NMH3 but considering how people only talk about the lesvian cancellation for Bayo 3 and how much NMH3 sucked, I assume I didn't miss anything.

NEO and DMC5 are some of the most fun action games I’ve played in a long while.

NEO's combat is a completely different beast from anything I've seen. It's not even like its prequel.

Yes but I never get proper replies besides "you're a moron".
But you're right; I think I will stop making this question and just avoid NEO.

            >I never get proper replies besides "you're a moron".
Okay, so how it works is that it’s an action RPG where you control multiple party members simultaneously, up to 6, with different input methods. You can create coordinated attacks between close range, long range, status ailments, knock downs, knock back, and launchers, with a timing element (Beatdrop gauge, orange sweetspots) of when you perform your combos to build up meter for a powerful special attack called a Mashup, each with their own unique effect (sucking enemies into the air with a gravity well, summoning ice spikes to bounce foes off of, bringing down meteors, stopping time itself, etc). There's a lot of pins that are near impossible to hit without any setup such as a chain, freeze, etc. Some pins have projectiles that move slower, and you have to efficiently use something else to get a beat drop meter so when the projectile hits, you get it. The gam rewards five main factors: pin management, understanding pin synergy, expert use of immobilizing status effects to extend combos, intelligent Groove Mashup utilization/Mashup looping, and positioning, on top of little shit like reversals, inertia manipulation, pin buffering, camera positioning, revenge meter manipulation, and more if you want to get really autistic with the tech stuff. Beatdrops, and especially the sweetspot system that gets added a bit later in the game, is actually a really smart system to teach players how to make the most of each pin, like placing the sweetspot for most launcher style pins in the middle when enemies are at the apex of the launch so you can maximize combo airtime as well as giving lead time for ranged juggle follow-ups to work. It’s especially really cool when you start to think of pins not just as attacks but as weapons, tools, and action skills that require comprehension, testing, and practice to squeeze out their maximum potential.

Now this is a reply. It does sound very different to Scarlet Nexus where the "you control multiple party members" is just summons for a simple attack.
Does the game let you play it or do you have to go through long cutscenes and walking segments before you cam play shot missions?

There's a bit of running around and a bit of light puzzling but there's combat encounters around you as you move around to keep things interesting and you can speed up dialogue (not many full FMV cutscenes). The pacing improves as you go on.

Sounds like the non-combat sections of Trials of Mana, which had a lot walking and cut-scenes but was bearable unlike Scarlet Nexus.
NEO sounds my cup of tea.

                Anonymous

You can chain together as many encounters as you want as you progress through the game and the game even encourages you to do so as well as increase the difficulty for higher reward drops from enemies. You start off being able to chain 5 enemy rounds until eventually you get the option to unlock 20 and draw in enemy symbols around you.

NEO is insanely easy to pick up and play because it’s got so many quality of life accessibility options: Wanna jump back into your favorite chapter? Easy; just access it through the menu. Want to fight enemy noise? Just hit the shoulder button and there's a bunch of them to choose from. Need to equip new pins? There’s a shit ton to choose from and switch through; and since you can jump in and out of battles so easily and switch up your equipment so easily, you can enjoy experimenting with the game play loop of NEO with barely any barriers.

    >DMC5
Huge success in the sense that it successfully un-rebooted a series back to what it was before. A little too heavy on fanservice for that reason but as a way to end Itsuno's time with DMC it's satisfying. Also people who don't like V's gameplay have double-digit IQs.
    >KH3
Never played a KH game in my life but from what I heard the base game was disappointing but Re:Mind saved it from a gameplay perspective.
    >Bayo 3
A weird one. It's the weakest in terms of visuals/sound/story but the best in terms of weapons & bosses while being in the middle otherwise. I guess since it averages out around 1&2's quality it's a good one but it's still kind of a messy game. Patching buffs to Viola and the heavy weapons last week was a great move, helps it a lot and makes me more confident in saying it's better than 2. Jeanne Spy Action is good.
    >NEO TWEWY
Really great game, but I never played the original so I can't rate it as a sequel. I only know which characters are from the first.
    >NMH3
Only played the first and not any sequels, but my friend that's a big Suda fan basically said it's kind of mediocre but not far off from the first two since gameplay wasn't their strong suit.
    >AC7
Never played any of them but I know 6 was some serious realistic one that people didn't like so 7 being more of the same seems good, kind of like a DMC5 for its series. I bought it for cheap on Steam so I'll play it sometime.

That was Assault Horizon, not 6.
It was released in the midst of everyone trying to ape CoD's success, and since Ace Combat is a military (arcade) game it also tried it. Wasn't good, so the franchise basically died for 8 years.
Soundtrack was still far above heaven, though.

    >DMC 5
Fundamentally solid game that few games can compare to. Could use some scenery changes just for variety’s sake
    >Kingdom Hearts III
Boring, by the books, but everything works in order
    >Bayonetta 3
Clear the devs didn’t know what the frick they wanted to do but there are some bright spots in here. Would put it above Kingdom Hearts as it doesn’t feel as bland.
    >NEO
Genuinely surprisingly good with regards to its transition from DS to PS4. Second best after DMC 5.
    >No More Heroes 3
Putrid dog shit Suda should kill himself
    Never played Ace Combat

    >Never played Ace Combat
Despite being a mess of a game compared to the old Ace Combats from the PS2 era, AC7 is generally regarded as being a pretty good game in general cause it just kind of "comes together" at the end.
Against all the odds of development hell, it punched above its weight and became the franchise best seller despite people still confusing it for stuff like a complex flight sim when it's just an arcade game in reality.
If the devs aren't interrupted now that they've got their own subdivision in Namco, then AC8 might just be pure sweet action through and through.
