RE7 is overrated shit

Having played RE0 and 7 back to back for my first time (0 on hard and 7 on normal because you have to unlock Madhouse first), I am absolutely shocked 7 is as loved as it is, when 0 was a much better paced game and just overall more inventive with some actually difficult puzzles. RE7 is literally and unironically for people too pussy to play Outlast 1 and 2.

Jack disappears way too soon and didn't really act like a stalker on my playthrough because I was too busy solving puzzles avoiding him, then you get that embarrassing "YOU WANNA PLAY A GAME???" SAW shit. Margie was my favorite boss (but not segment because the shack and bugs were boring), but only because she was a clear rip from [REC], one of my favorite horror movies.

>Save Zoe because I figure she can make more of the cure to help Mia
>Zoe completely disappears from the narrative and Mia is still super important

???

Why did this moronic game even ask me to make a choice?

Also the ammo is way, way, WAY overtuned on Normal. (You can't play Madhouse until you unlock it which I'm not going to because the game sucks) By the end of the game I had over 70 shotgun shells and over 500+ MG rounds. Was the game made for moronic Japanese people who don't play FPS games generally? (Even though the game is pretty American feeling with the constant use of b***h and the ugly female characters Mia and Zoe)

Just play the game on Madhouse. You're going to struggle more compared to Normal, if you really want a more challenging experience in comparison.

RE7 is an average game but it's put on such a high pedestal because of how much people hated 6.

Even with the DLCs, I only managed to get 20 hours out of it. Meanwhile, doing all 8 campaigns in RE6 and all the mercenaries maps exclusive to the PC port took me 50 hours.

People who hate RE6 are tastelet morons.

        Speaking of tastelet morons.
How many of those hours were spent doing shitty moviegame qtes and awful gimmick sequences?
Theres a reason they rebooted the series after this shit. 6 was a disaster.

          >How many of those hours were spent doing shitty moviegame qtes and awful gimmick sequences?

Hey RE6 has more enemy and boss variety than mold monster #1 and mold monster (licker) #2.

They can die like Zoe, and not appear in the endings..

Not the same thing and you're coping if you pretend otherwise. I chose Zoe (because my assumption is that she made one cure, so she could make another for Mia)

Then she just completely vanishes, like she wasn't even in the game.

Rebecca dies for example (if you don't save her) so of course she doesn't show up again, duh.

You didn't read my post at all, moron. I cured Zoe, but she disappears from the narrative. She didn't die, as the shitty DLC confirmed. (People who like End of Zoe are mental patients. Completely kills the tone by going for action comedy.)

          >and awful gimmick sequences?

You mean like the """boss""" Eveline in 7?

7 is the only RE game that is at least somewhat scary, which makes it by default better than all the others.

Lisa Trevor mogs anything in 7 outside of maybe the Margie boss, who is a ripoff/homage of one of my favorite movies [REC]

You are a actioncuck...Your argument is already trash

7 is definitely overrated and turns to mediocre slop after the chainsaw duel, but shit is going too far. End of Zoe was a fun cheesy romp as well.
0 is actually shit though. The lack of an item box is just tedious when there's a straight series of safe rooms from beginning to end. Besides the lab, it never takes advantage of the two characters, so it usually results in Rebecca sitting in the safe zone while Billy does the heavy lifting. Marcus was a funny villain, but that's about all it had going for it, not to mention all the plot holes it invited.

Marguerite is the best boss of the franchise in terms of atmosphere homie.if you gonna b***h about mediocrity,do like everybody else and say that the game drops in the boat section.

RE7 is a fun 8/10 game. It's not classic RE, it's not classic survival horror, it's not particularly hard, etc. etc. but it's a very enjoyable and entertaining game.

Resident Evil has always included choices, as well as both good and bad endings.

But after you made the choice, Rebecca and Barry didn't completely disappear from the narrative like Zoe did.

I always found it to be a very bland middle ground between old RE and the more action focused ones.
The mansion layout is too simple and the amount of enemies you face too small to make the survival horror element matter.
Game relies too much on setpieces also

After playing 8, Zoe is the clear choice of a better person. Mia doesn't once ask where her baby is when Chris saves her. She's just surprised the Rose is back with Chris at all.

      >0 is actually shit though.

Hard disagree and completely over-exaggerated like who say 6 is shit.

      >The lack of an item box is just tedious when there's a straight series of safe rooms from beginning to end.

How is it tedious when RE1 remake has a mode exactly like it?

      >>B-B-BUT IT WAS OPTIONAL

Exactly, so most players probably didn't even play the mode.

In fact, let me look up the Steam achievement numbers

      >The Survival Horror
      >Finish the game in Real Survival mode.
      >3.1% of players

So this confirms REmake fans are kinda pussies, not gonna lie -- and I say this as someone who ultimately thinks REmake > 0, but it's only because REmake is tied to a classic. 0 for me has basically no nostalgia and it was still a really great experience.

      >so it usually results in Rebecca sitting in the safe zone while Billy does the heavy lifting.

This makes sense because she's a woman though.

To be fair to Jill, she's also 18.

          >Oh no I have to...... backtrack in the series known for backtracking!

Not to belittle the problem, but when I knew I had to take the grappling hook to the bat church, I just reloaded my save and did it again. When the grappling hook survives the train crash, it kind of signposts itself as important.

It was still less annoying than reloading my save again and again after the mansion gets invaded with hunters in the original RE1. (Remake nerfs them pretty hard)

100% correct. This new take on Resident Evil should have been it's own new IP. Chris and Umbrella being in it adds nothing but insanity.

      >Chris and Umbrella being in it adds nothing but insanity.

It literally and unironically was the twist of the game, including naming the gun the "Albert".

      >This isn't a resident evil game....... PSYCHE

It's overrated but the start through the Margarette is 10/10

      >im impressed by da jack man breaking through the wall setpieces!

Why aren't you impressed with Mr. X breaking through the walls in the original RE2?

I love RE2 and personally think it's the best in the series. I just love RE7s swampy backwoods and think it's the best setting in the franchise.

Glad you liked it. Honestly one of the last great scary games I've played besides the new Blair Witch game. I wouldn't mind getting into it. I loved the psychology of the main character trying to make up for his past frick up and just the reveal of that creature in the school at certain points had me running my ass off.

Outlast 1 is unironically comfy (although I'd still say it was overall scary) in comparison to how 2 always put me on edge.
