90s remake is top tier. 6 is my favorite personally. Playing through the earlier titles. Save constantly because I’ve been permafucked in 2 especially but it can happen in every titles in some form
Have you played Sierra point-n-click games before?
If not, start with 7 then 6. If you really liked them then go for 1, 2, 3 and 5. Try to get through at least 7 and 6 without a guide but don't be afraid to bust one out for the earlier titles.
If you've trudged through other Sierra titles before like Space Quest then start from the beginning and work your way from there.
I've played through the King's Quest series so I'm familiar with Sierra's usual fuckery. I'm asking about the remake specifically because in the case of KQ1 the SCI remake gets a lot of hate and I wasn't sure if it was the same here too. Thanks for the tips, lads.

The original game, and to a lesser extent the first three, are classics.
I mean they still suffer from the problems of Sierra Point and Clicks, and they aren't all that funny, but they're very cozy and unique.
Larry 5 and 6 though I think are complete trash
Larry 7, Love for Sail, that one I think is easily the best Larry game. Easily the prettiest, best sounding, most funny, most sexual, and most fun.
The 3D titles are generally worse.
Magna cum Laude is bad, but at least it has like half of the writing and jokes being surprisingly hilarious.
'Box Office Bust' is one of the worst games.
>And Larry 4 doesn't exist. They skipped it.
yes. Actually, beside the joke, it was also supposed to be a "online point & click" like Myst Uru, where a handfull of players could be in the same room and solve puzzles together.
iirc, another reason why Larry 4 was skipped was that Larry's 'character arc' (if you can call it that) was finished by LSL 3. Larry had found true love and had a happy ending.
That was hard to move on from.
So LSL 4 was passed so that the change in plot could be mostly ignored
MCL gets a lot of hate, but theres been several based threads about anons remembering playing that as a kid and it has its place in gaming history. I think its actually gotten better with age
jokes are subjective to anyone, but MCL is a great 2000s time capsule. Always nice to see western devs do sexy chicks as well when they still had some balls
It's a series of adventure game that have sex jokes back when those were still allowed, they are also the sort of adventure game where you missed picking up an item at the beginning of the game and now you are locked, oh and there's plenty of funny "death" like if you have sex with a prostitute you get an STD and your balls explode!
The only one worth playing is 7 and that's because it looks like a gorgeous cartoon from the 90, coincidentally I think it's also the only classic Larry game where you can't die or get stuck
pretty funny in their own kind of way. Avoid the newer titles
Not him, but where to start, original or SCI remake?

All the new ones are good games. You have not played them or the originals.
>le german point & click face!
no thanks
The older games are more like he's a lovable loser who gets lucky sometimes. The newer ones are just generic frat boy sex comedy stuff.
Gobliiins 5 is a better game than them
>they made Gobliiins games after 3
fucking what? When did this happen?
Woodruff, their best game
Gobliiins 4 (3D) their worst game
Gobliiins 5 just got released: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXb-FDStbMY
6 and 7
still the best

It still deserves its hate however.

when I replay it (gog has it uncensored) I keep thinking about how I would adapt the events into a point & click adventure
Koko best girl

You definitly can't get yourself softlocked on 6 either.

>What does a prostitute do on her day off? She spends her fucking money!
Nice.
