I killed Mr. House when I discovered he was a frail human who relied on machines to live, in order to maintain the veneer of his immortality.
Fricking repugnant.
I'm afraid he is beyond just physicality. Weak ego, weak mind, weak personality, and weak managerial ability. Without his robotics and computer knowhow, his company would've failed.
don't need to be a chef to know you're eating shit, anon

Very often they do, but not always. Isaac Newton was undoubtedly a genius, but he had an ego so big it had it's own gravity.
And he died almost penniless because he thought he was so smart he should invest in stocks

The difference is that house only dies if Luckyman Courier, who is pretty much able to kill whoever the frick he wants to, decides he should.

Anon. House is fricked without you. He gambled everything on one shitcoin.
It's the correct ending unless you happen to really hate women that particular day. Then Caesar is probably your best best. But either way, those are the only two worthwhile endings.
>1
He is not some super mega genius. At least not compared to the actual giga-chads of the Commonwealth that practically makes humans while he makes TV's on wheels. >2
He is never gonna go to mars. That was was a Elon Musk tactic for the redditors to cream their starwars pants. >3
He needs the NCR to fight a tribe that uses sticks and swords for weapons. He cannot hope to defeat the entire BoS or even the NCR themselves. >4
He has this weird belief that if an autocrat, like him, was in charge and not democracy. The nuclear war would never happen. Even though we don't know who launched the nukes. Maybe it was China? What could he as an autocrat do? >5
Wants to evolve and progress humanity. Again, the Institute has him beat on that front. He is not needed for that.
I see your point but with 1 & 5, isn’t that f4 only factions? IIRC f4 is noncanon to fnv and vice versa, commonwealth/institute technology is kinda null in a wasteland where they don’t exist.
>using the institute as a comparision
I played fallout 4 recently, and holy shit! the institute is easily the most moronic faction in the fallout universe, they got beatean by both the think tank and the shi, how come they have spent 200 years underground and yet, the only notewothy technology they have is a glorofied clonning machine? Even the fusion reactor is pre war tech
>invents terminal computers >invents the very concept of OS >invents every robot but the Mr. Handy >invents multi-purpose military police robot >invents network to manage robots across an entire state >invents pip-boy (all of them) >invents stealth boy >invents various rocket ships >invents fricking liberty prime >turns Las Vegas into a huge gambling tourist economy rivaling all progress of California across 150 years >"NOOOOOOOOO HOUSE ISNT A GENIUS THIS CANNOT BE, THERE IS NO EVIDENCE HE CAN EVEN INTO OUTSIDE SPACE"
Robco exists in literally every corner of the Fallout setting and was the biggest tech conglomerate there is. Is that not enough evidence the guy can probably manage a space colony?
You have let Mark Zuckerberg take over one of the greatest architectural feats and generator of resources known to man. He tells you he is going to do all sorts of crazy shit™ with it. In reality, he will do nothing. He will keep your hard work, all that fresh water, and electricity to enrich himself. Instead of taking his place and doing what you want, you instead fed his ego and accomplished his dream of controlling a useless strip of land only good at tricking people into handing over their money.
Neither you nor he are particularly intelligent. You can bust heads. He can make robots and somehow convince you he knows how to be an autocrat, as all his subjects are one way or another working against his interests.
He's genuinely extremely smart(he predicted the great war and was only off by a few hours iirc, which is insane), he wants to do more than just survive on the planet, and he doesn't really give a shit about the stupid politics involved in Vegas. Also he's your initial employer. He's genuinely one of the best choices, with his only real issue being his massive ego(which is mostly warranted given his feats but still).
>He's genuinely extremely smart(he predicted the great war and was only off by a few hours iirc, which is insane),
This isn't how calculations work. Saying there's a certain percentage beyond 50/50 as an expression of things happen is midwit writer 'this character is intelligent' shit. Even if he could, that's not a sign of intelligence. It's a sign he can do insane, nonsensical calculations well. > massive ego(which is mostly warranted given his feats but still)
This is a sign of a lacking intelligence. The true geniuses of all human eras display a shocking amount of humility and self-doubt. Even with their accomplishments, they never stopped wondering or doubting. They do not pretend to see beyond their scope. And what they do see, they doubt because there is always the chance even they could be wrong.
>. The true geniuses of all human eras display a shocking amount of humility and self-doubt.
Very often they do, but not always. Isaac Newton was undoubtedly a genius, but he had an ego so big it had it's own gravity.
>House
People who think they can't do a good enough job themselves. Likely think the world should be run by the 'elite/smart' people. >Legion
People who recognize the dangers of becoming over reliant on technology. Accept tyranny over freedom because they think most people can't be responsible with their own free will. >NCR
People who think corruption is just temporary or even acceptable in the face of tyranny. Likely idealistic given the evidence that annexing the Mojave would feed the growing problems of the state. >Yes Man
People who think they can do better jobs themselves or want to see the world burn. Likely impossible for one inclination when it comes to this extremely open-ended route.
Mr.House is likely the canon ending because it's the best ending for the Courier personally.
>NCR Ending
You get a medal and literally nothing else. >Legion Ending
Your face is immortalized in legion currency, cementing your legacy for many generations. >Yes Man Ending
You run New Vegas but you have to deal with the responsibility of running it, including dealing with rioters. >Mr. House Ending
You become House's second-in-command. He bears the responsibility of running New Vegas while you get to live a life of pure luxury doing absolutely nothing. All the money, opportunities and babes of New Vegas become available to you.
>You get a medal and literally nothing else.
Not really, your name is well known in the NCR at that point. You're significantly above the average citizen or soldier and your reputation precedes you, you'd have many benefits as you also saved the president.
You get a medal and the corrupt NCR officials brush you to the side as they do the rest of their troops. The whole point of the NCR ending is that while it may be the most "good" ending, you get the least out of it.
One of the running themes of the series is that people in the 2070s were genuinely insane in a way that guaranteed total nuclear annihilation. Everyone you meet that dates back to prewar times, from ghouls to AIs (even the cryogenically-frozen player character in Fallout 4) is crazy in some fashion.
House isn't really developed enough as a character to make any definitive judgements about his goals but what we do get does not really paint a kind picture of the man: an absolutely ruthless businessman who even screwed over his own family in pursuit of wealth and power. If he had noble aims his businesses (REPCONN, Robco's defense and civil protection contracts) did not reflect that. He might be telling the truth about his plan to preserve humanity by sending it into space but he is leaving out that, like the Enclave, he doesn't really consider the people surviving in the wasteland to be entirely human (see his comments on the tribes who were living in Vegas when he woke up).
>screwed over his own family in pursuit of wealth and power
It's the literal exact opposite. House was adopted and Anthony (his stepbrother) tried to screw him out of his inheritance.
House is just a crappy keeping the status quo ending, Bad writing on obsidian's part.
I wished they made House of a shades of grey character with the ends justify the means style. Say like he had a plan to launch Vault-tec's GECK and restore America to its pre-war glory days but at the cost of say killing off both the NCR and Caesar's legion would be amazing.
It would put the player in the greyest of moral dilemma areas where they would have to sacrifice the lives of thousands in order to save millions.
He thinks he can colonize space but it'll always just be a pipe dream, especially with the lack of resources to even make rockets that can mine asteroids or whatever shit he thinks he can do.
He's the smartest and most likely to succeed and his actions will improve the lives of everyone.
NCR is dogshit and evil.
Legion is pretty iffy and kinda autistic.
Independent is a shitty version of House for teens with daddy issues that don't want to listen to House.
Test
I don't care but I saw guy on Deviantart who had your OP pic as a profile picture and was making MLP giantess porn
That’s all I needed to know thanks, I’m going wildcard.
Gigabased technocratpilled fetishist, i'm a housechad thanks to your post
I killed Mr. House when I discovered he was a frail human who relied on machines to live, in order to maintain the veneer of his immortality.
Fricking repugnant.
Literally this. I didn’t even remember his proposition. No one that weak deserved to control anything
>Uses the might of his intellect to achieve pseudo-immortality, among other things
>weak
I'm afraid he is beyond just physicality. Weak ego, weak mind, weak personality, and weak managerial ability. Without his robotics and computer knowhow, his company would've failed.

Yes. Thank you for agreeing with me
What rank is your company on the fortune 500?

He's the only one with a plan to take humanity beyond the irradiated confines of Earth, and it works.
Arguably it may also lead into Outer Worlds.
>It may also lead into Outer Worlds
worst ending
There are zero arguments against Mr. House that don't come down to "I don't like him."
It's the correct ending unless you happen to really hate women that particular day. Then Caesar is probably your best best. But either way, those are the only two worthwhile endings.

Their technology was present in fallout 3 though. So yeah, choose to ignore 2 games if you want.
then we would just circle back to the eternal debate of “is fallout new vegas and fallout 3 in the same time line”
>using the institute as a comparision

Okay. And?
Veronica is good with robotics and coding, House is a master of robotics and coding with a keen business acumen.
>with a keen business acumen.
>give me the chip, courier
>no
>YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT TO ME. IT'S MINE. MINE
yeah
everything supposedly good about house just falls apart under scrutiny
there is literally mechanically zero reason to not give him the chip
Robco exists in literally every corner of the Fallout setting and was the biggest tech conglomerate there is. Is that not enough evidence the guy can probably manage a space colony?
uhhhh no sweatie you need to be a gay moronic black women to achieve space flight :))
He couldn't even manage the strip.
I sided with House. He's the only one who actually had a plan for humanity beyond larping as a dead empire

Old man and moron (You) wants to turn Vegas into a glorified Mining Town and think it won't become Blair Mountain 2.0
eh

This isn't ancient greece, you don't get a life of rest just because everyone knows you're cool like winning athletes did
You get frickall beyond the honour and your skill.
House made Vegas so he can keep it. I'm not some thieving Black person. If the NCR violates the NAP then I will ensure Kimball takes a nap. Simple as

Fallout 3 Enclave ending is 100% bad the project purity water would've killed off 99.9% of the planet leaving only the Enclave to rebuild civilization
>both not-Fallout games from Obsidian and Bethesda are about space
House doubters?
grug says shiny coin belongs to me now 🙂
House will say anything to get the chip back. Considering he only has one charisma you'd have to be pretty gullible to go with him
>ME NO ASK NICE AGAIN. GIB CHIP.

I-IS THAT A FRICKING NIPPLE!!???
You will own nothing and you will be happy.
Which ending would Mad Max choose?
Planning a Mad Max palythrough of all Fallout gaems, this one's ending seems to be the hardest to choose.
Chud ending larping as Elon Musk. NCR is literally the only acceptable choice
