    >tfw 4TB SSD + 10TB HDD
feels so good not having to worry about storage.

      Anonymous

Exactly. The HDD is for long term backup storage, and the SSD('s) are for daily use.
      Perfect.
      -
SSD's lose stored memory if they are not powered on for a certain amount of time.

        Not a problem. I'm a NEET.

If the power goes out for a long time for some reason, or you have an issue with your other drive you will be thankful for an HDD backup.
Think ahead, even if you are NEET. Especially if you're NEET.
I am too, and if my files were suddenly compromised I would feel it. Kick in the balls with steel-toed boots kind of feeling.

            >If the power goes out for a long time for some reason
Black person an SSd has to lose power for YEARS for that to happen. You're more likely to just see thing crash.

Not like it matters if you're making external backups like a sane person.

              Anonymous

It can be much shorter time period than that. Also, if for some reason the power cuts off for years, you're set.
              >external backups
We are essentially talking about the same thing, minus the physical location.
It's fine to have storage in case too, but yeah. External backups are nice too. More convenient.

If he was capable of thinking ahead, he wouldn't be a NEET. Unless he was born to rich parents or hit it big on crypto in which case good for him.

Not him, but why? I mean build a new PC if you want to, sure, but why not simply use your old hard drives and also buy new ones too?
Unless I misunderstood your message, just buy moar *and* keep the olde ones too.

he suggests me to get a new bigger SSD so i say if i am going to get a new SSD, i would just get a new PC but i dont have the money and time for the time being so id just wait a little longer for 5080 or something

Okay, well, you can buy a new SSD now for cheap and keep your old hard drive too. You can have many directories for games. I have 2 currently on my PC.
            It's your choice, anon. Peace.

OP is a dumb zoomer that doesn't even know how to install a new drive, much less how to use the SATA and PSU Power cables to connect them. The fact that he even uses Xbox on PC should've tipped you off

I just installed a 1tb ssd from my 120 gb ssd. Is there a way to transfer the files over? Everywhere i look says to use cloning software but my friends said cloning can be buggy and tedious. If i do a fresh instal of windows on the new one is there a way to just transfer my programs to that one and just use my old one for storage or something? I was also thinking of just getting a usb to create a back up and use that backup to transfer everything to the new ssd, then just delete the data on the old one.

You can traansfer *most* files by simplt copying them over. The trick is transferring your operating system, and, at that point I would suggest you simply reinstall it.
Your saves can be copied, so can video and image files.

The operating system is the hard part, *unless you reinstall.

      >First connect the new blank drive and then boot into the windows install media
      >Format and install the new disc
      >Boot into Windows from new disc when prompted
      >Use xcopy or robocopy to copy files from old HDD to new HDD, exlcude the Windows directory
      >Wait 3-6 days for files to copy
      >Remove/format old drive if needed
