True, they can be good as long as they don't directly copy the old thing >e.g. Dark Souls ---> Elden Ring >Old CoD ---> xDefiant >R6 Seige ---> MW'19 and every shit CoD after
Sometimes it's hard not to do that as elements of what made the original good must be in the successor
Though I suppose aesthetic is what sets it apart from the original
Like wario land and pizza tower
>R6 Seige ---> MW'19 and every shit CoD after
that's some primo bait right there, I wish modern cods had the destruction and interaction that siege offers
also xDefiant does not seem to be shaping up well, after playing the beta it felt like a worse old cod that's coming out 10 years too late
I was just comparing the sluggish gameplay of R6slop to that of nu-CoD. Gameplay speed is all I care about with FPS, and seeing the beta footage tells me it has that, or at the very least, isn't artificially slowed down to appeal to casuals and campers
nuCod is way faster than siege, I don't know where you're getting the idea that it isn't from unless my reading comprehension is bad and you are saying they're different
nuCoD is only marginally faster than siege simply due to how the maps are, but ADS and sprint-out is so slow, you basically have to pre-aim everywhere like it's R6. And of course, there's no dropshotting, jumpshotting, or any other skillful maneuvers that old CoD had

>but ADS and sprint-out is so slow
this is a blatant lie, unfortunately I know because I've wasted too many hours in both mw2019 and mw2022 (and will probably waste more in mw2023)
and I also have too many hours in r6siege to know the differences >And of course, there's no dropshotting, jumpshotting
I don't think we played the same game then because jumpshotting is extremely prevalent in nuCod, dropshotting still works as well to a degree (I do it all the time lol)

You might be right, I haven't played any CoD passionately since BO2 (and BO3 when it died)
looks like you just don't want to support new IPs
Its a good game, well optimised as well, shame your 10 year old hardware can't run it, but maybe you should just upgrade instead of saying game is bad
Starfield unironically looks worse than No Man's Sky. If my base PS4 can't run it at a silky smooth 60fps, then that's 100% the fault of Bethesda and their Indian slave legion
New IPs are rare and a hard sell, because most people rather go for something familiar. New IPs also have the problem of usually needing multiple games to find their footing, and most people today have less patience for that to happen.
This is sort of an offshoot of Hyperreality is it not?
Where we can no longer create the thing, but only produce replicas that simulate what the thing used to be.
I actually like spiritual successors

starfield is a new IP but you're not playing it
Because it SUCKS (and it's not on PS4)

don't bother talking to bethesdadrones.
anon, buy the game and upgrade your PS4 to actual hardware like AMD PC

>stagnant culture
Calm down its only games
>doesn't like spiritual successors
what the fuck is wrong with you
I dont mind if its remaster/remake of 10 year old games or that are stick in sime bad propetiary hardware.
we live in a stifled culture, not stagnant. There are operators constantly suppressing cultural blossoming. You should kill them.
During the direct, I literally saw the entire chat loses their mind over the Luigi Masion 2 port but shit on other games.
I didn’t watch it are they at least rereleasing xenoblade x?

WOAH
i blame disney
it's just a trend, anon.
Good. New IPs suck ass. Go play Horizon or some shit if you love new IPs so much, gay.
Gaming has become like the film industry.
Make something new yourself then
