Why is that Magic: the Gathering has Black folk all over the place and even turned half of Lords of the Rings into nigs, but they prefer Yugioh instead when it has almost no Black folk?

No, it is because MTG panders to people who like pandering to minorities, not actual minorities. If wotc wanted to get the black audience'tm' they'd make the game much cheaper and they'd add black dudes who are mad cool and hot white babes.

Someone post the thread where someone asks Maro why they don't make the cards cheaper if they want minorities to play.

This is probably the best thing to ask anyone in tabletop/video games/ect. to make them squirm because there's no answer that doesn't break the masquerade. They are absolutely forbidden to answer anything along the lines of "because it would hurt profits" because corporations still care about the veneer of being your bestest buddy that only wants to make products for you and totally not in it to make the green line go up. They can't play the "well it's wrong to assume minorities are poor" card because that's an indirect admission that the product is too fricking expensive and it's dismissive of those who are actually in poverty. And just playing dumb and pretending like your product isn't overpriced is just a flat out lie because no one wants to pay fricking 12 bucks for a pack of garbage cards, that's like a quarter of a grocery run for a single bachelor.

Yugioh TCG territories aren't cheap because our Japanese overlords don't care about us. The Japanese Yugioh market alone makes more money than all the TCG territories combined. We're just an afterthought.

Black person here. Black people (like literally every group of people alive) like seeing themselves in media, but "We turned white people black!!!" is so unspeakably low effort and pandering that it becomes incredibly insulting. Genuine representation is great, but no representation is far better than bad representation.

WotC can't make new characters anymore, so instead of creating good representation they instead blackwash a thematic reconstruction of English myth.

Do they even bother doing that anymore? I thought they'd stopped pretending to be anything other than cardboard Fortnite.

It's a generational thing. A lot of young blacks were put on the KidsWB grindset because cartoons and trading card games was preferable to getting them into gang shit, or at least that's the case for a lot of inner-city blacks. The affinity for the game got passed down between generations, so there's a particularly large number of black players.

There's also the stigma against gay wizards and shit. Yugioh initially deflected from this with the ancient egypt/dragon shit in the anime, but nowadays they use weebshit to deflect it.

YGO is just two people agressively playing solitare at eachother + the same staple cards since the early 2000s
MTG used to be the better game, but it't become Fornite: The TCG with all the gay fricking crossover shit and the card art that used to be fricking fantastic being degraded to interns generating AIslop while YGO just remains relatively the same game it's been for decades with a few minor shake-ups.
Having more more braindead zoomies playing it than YGO does not make MTG the "better game".

This is a Japanese board. Stop pretending magic is better when WOTC is effectively more greedy than konami. At-least konami made it accessible to play a legacy format on paper. WOTC appeals to the moron desperately wants his paper to be worth millions. Your secret club for the geek rich needs to FOAD.

The cartoon is objectively badly written.

No, it's fun and is fully aware that it's set in a world where the most important thing in everyone's life is a card game featuring robot dinosaur dragons. The entire premise is ridiculous, but it knows how to generate drama and spectacle.

You're right that a lot of episodes are dumb. A lot are outright terrible, and the latter series are probably all trash. But, there's also plenty of well-written episodes thrown into the mix, and while there's also a lot of insane asspulls as far as card mechanics go, some battles were absolutely brilliant.

The two that come to mind first are the battle against Pegasus, and the battle for Slifer.

The battle against Pegasus is about as good as card battles can get. We're talking about a battle against the guy who made the game, has unique and unapologetically broken cards, and even has a magic item that lets him read your mind, while the stakes are not just the soul of your grandpa, but ultimately the fate of the entire world. And, this guy's deck is designed to humiliate you at first by using mockeries of your own creatures, and then if you manage to get past its surface strategy, it opens up into an absolute nightmare.

Sure, it's silly. But, it's also awesome. There's plenty of asspulls in that battle, but also a lot of clever strategies and counters, and its incredibly entertaining all the way through.

        Anonymous

The Slifer battle is also pretty great. Yugi is up against a deck with a God Card for the first time, and Yugi's opponent has a near-perfect strategy with an infinitely resurrecting slime monster as a wall that redirects all attacks towards it, and a 3 card draw engine that activates whenever a monster is resurrected. Yugi's strategy had been to just try to win before Slifer got summoned, but he barely manages to put a dent into his opponent's life points.

Thanks to his card draw engine, his opponent quickly summons Slifer, and Slifer has an automatic effect that weakens or outright kills anything that Yugi summons. And, Slifer gets stronger with every card in your hand, so he's will just get stronger anytime Yugi tries to attack, as it will just get redirected to the resurrecting slime and having his opponent draw 3 cards. So, Yugi is facing an infinite wall and an infinitely growing monster, with no way to counterattack, especially because Slifer is already stronger than his strongest monsters, and spells only last a single turn on a God Card.

Yugi has already used up all of his dramatic stall cards (Swords of Revealing Light, Magical Hats, Kuribo, etc.), so he has only one turn left, for real this time (unless the writers invented yet another dramatic stall card and had him slip it into his deck between duels, but let's just ignore that for the moment).

          Anonymous

He realizes he does have a chance to win, by exploiting infinity. He attacks the slime, but as it is being resurrected, he casts Brain Control on it, summoning it to his side of the field. This triggers Slifer's automatic ability, killing the slime, and making his opponent draw three cards, before it's resurrected back onto Yugi's side of the field, where it's killed again, making his opponent draw another three cards, before it's resurrected again, killed again, etc., and this loop continues until his opponent's deck runs out of cards, making it the first time in the series someone decked out.

It's pretty great. Sure, it's a bit of an asspull that uses anime-only-rules just so that it can work, but it's fairly clever and shows off Yugi's ability to think calmly even against seemingly impossible odds. It was also a great way for him to cross over the threshold and gain himself a God Card, enabling him to contend with the other two God Card users.

It's a children's show, that's melodramatic to the extreme and has paper-thin characters and plots, but it's not all terrible, and certainly not "objectively". You really shouldn't use that word like a valley girl uses the word "literally".
