ME1 felt like an adventure that was building to something, that something being Sovereign and the assault on the Citadel. These big grand reveals about the setting and your place in it. ME2 is essentially a side quest inbetween games. Not to say it isn't fun but in the grand scheme it's a time waster

It also introduced us to the kino world. The characters felt more authentic and diverse. The stories were more weighted and poignant. In ME2 and 3 I feel they really tried to 'humanize' the alien squadmates and other alien characters, which was a chronic mistake. It just felt so cheesy, like amalgamated fanfic or something.
ME1 just felt like a dark, gritty scifi adventure. You were in this cold, dark, scary Universe with a terrifying, omnipotent, ancient evil lurking behind the veil the entire time.

We learned the most about Turians and by extension Garrus in ME2 and ME3 so you're objectively wrong.
All ME1 did was establish he was *some* kind of soldier and had a vendetta against a literally who that was resolved during a shitty 20 minute mission where all you did was shoot some not-zombies and make a choice whether to spare Saleon or not which literally doesn't matter because you kill him anyway. Personal missions in ME1 were embarassingly bad compared to ME2.
The C-Sec thing in ME1 was nothing but fluff before the latter game fleshed it out. Most of character's backgrounds in ME1 are just off-topic remarks, some of which were used as a base in ME2 and ME3 to flesh out the character further but your imperfect memory makes you think ME1 did all of that.

Black person it's all just nostalgia. I replayed the trilogy recently and none of that shit is in the game. A lot of worldbuilding happened in ME2 as well but you conveniently ignore it.

No worldbuilding happened in 2. Only world subversion and deconstruction. Harbinger was literally an autistic incel.

I'm replaying the trilogy right now and you're wrong. ME1 has a weirdly distinct gritty feel to it. The places you go are more remote and industrial and actually feel like a place where a spec ops agent would show up to do some wet work. ME2 has...the evil citadel, I guess.

2 is much more of a cover game than 3 is, in 3 you have banshees and other things constantly pushing you and throwing shit your way to make you move. 2 you can stay in the same spot for almost the entire fight and be fine

                >The problem is that the enviroments are designed to take cover behind walls
you're mainly talking about ME2 here tbh it punishes aggressive gameplay with things like flashbangs or flamers waiting behind corners or frequent staggers and enemies holding position
ME3's classes are better for bumrushing the enemy, melee attacks become powerful, enemies move a lot and often try to flush you out, and the best class is literally designed around high risk high reward closerange play

Because they were cribbing the plot structure of Babylon 5. Then they got cold feet when they realized the 2nd act revolves around fantasy racial tensions boiling over before the big invasion so they copped out and made a parody of their own creation.

I'm being facetious, but their pivot away from their original source material snapped the logical progression of the series in two, as evidenced by ME2 being a massive Cowboy Bebop flavored sidequest.

I guess I don't see it, I always saw ME1 as a pretty straightforward fantasy ancient evil vanquish with not that much happening on the side. I mean, there were definitely some other dynamics there, but by the time the game ends it seems clear it was always just fluff and the only real plot was "muh reapers"

        we live in hope
but to be honest i expect they'll fall into the comic book dilemma of always needing a bigger badder shark to jump; after the reapers im sure the rebuilding civilization plot will have well crafted slice of life sidequests but what will truly propel the plot
unless we play as someone completely new i guess

theyll bring shepard back, find some new mass relay, and it will take them to a different galaxy and in that galaxy shepard will have to fight a different version of the reapers again. the basic premise will be the same but all the design and details will be different, new reaper designs, new alien races

thats the only way i can see them going forward with the story

'It' is quite clearly referring to ME1. The arrangement of the sentence makes it perfectly clear to anyone who speaks English natively, or even fluently, that 'it' is referring to ME1 there.

That wouldn't even make any sense. I have no idea how you could even read that sentence that way.
The first part of the sentence makes it perfectly clear we're talking about ME1. Only one game preceded ME2 and ME3. ME1. I also specified explicitly that I was talking about the first ME.

You're a fricking idiot. Or trolling. Either way, I'm done with you.

I didn't put an opinion on what the correct answer was either way. I just laid out the options so it was made more apparent

Your first option doesn't make any grammatic sense. Nobody mentioned ME2 or 3 so 'it' could not possibly be referring to either of them.
The first part of the sentence explicitly states I'm talking about ME1. 'It' preceded the buddycop schlock romcom that followed it.

ME is just a remake of star control 2. Not a single original idea found, and that's why it's better than the rest. Very much like game of thrones and all the parts that weren't lifted straight from the books.
