kinda wish they just added the defense buff on top of hail and called it a day, but then I realized that ice types would have some free DoT, a defense buff, and a buff for one of the strongest moves in the series (Blizzard) on top of the hail abilities. the only saving grace is that most ice types fricking suck, but I wonder if buffing hail would carry them too hard.
It's a net benefit. Now snow teams can have much more variety in typing without killing their own mons while Ice types still get a huge new buff from it
Intrepid/dauntles is legendary related so i dont really care but i do see why it sucks seeing how you cant switch pokemon and then bring the dog back out to get the effect anymore
protean/libero are useless now that it's only used once in battle
snow warning seems the same except fo it being called snow, unless snow is something completely different
battle bond isnt useless anymore and locked behind an anime related gimmick

But why? Couldn't the two coexist? Why did thye make it hail back in gen 3 instead of snow?

Snow replaces hail, it gets the defense boost without the chip damage, so its still just a worse sandstorm
