His entire purpose was as a device to stop Ash from becoming a champion. In the grand scheme of things, he's entirely irrelevant. Basically isn't even a character.
He'll appear in the last episode, Ash will challenge him to one final rematch and he'll send out an Arceus that wins 6-0 before he leaves without explanation
Ash won a mini-tournament where every single active champion (except Paldea) was present.
Tobias is not relevant, seeing as how he isnt Sinnohs champion
>ash beat 5 legendaries over the course of his entire 20+ year journey >could barely even beat Tobias' one, let alone his remaining FIVE in a single go
kek I dont know what youre trying to prove anon but okay.

And what happens if Tobias has ALSO improved since then?

How was he not DP level when he was directly coming off of beating 7 E4 tier trainers right beforehand?

DP Ash got destroyed by Flint (an E4)
Frontier Brains are not E4 level in the anime (maybe not in the games either)

> Frontier Brains are not E4 level in the actual
Yes they are. Enishida says "There are people as strong as Kikuko in the Battle Frontier". > maybe not in the games either)
Don’t know about the rest but Palmer is as strong as Cynthia and they both share the same Champion theme

holy autism
>What was his fricking deal?
I think he was the manifestation of the writer's sense of how bullshit it was that they had to keep the journey going for Gen 5. Everyone realizes he was due for a victory, a retirement, and that it was time to make room for a new protagonist for the franchise.
Asspull to make sure Ash doesn't win, in more modern gens like 6 a CHARIZARD would've been used instead.
He makes me wonder if there are just really strong trainers out there that don't even bother with the official league anymore.
Why were people pissed about this?
Being beaten by some mystery man with literal legendary Pokemon is much better than losing all the losers Ash lost to before DP
Edgier than grim darkwood
He was literally created to blue ball ash and the fans.

>Darkrai Gijinka
Maybe it was a Mew or Darkrai shapeshifting

>Jobbed to the E4
Or
>Jobbed to Cynthia
Or
>Too much of a pussy to challenge either
Ash won in the long-run.
>the only way Ash "wins" against Tobias is if he never fights him in the first place
holy kek
Ash won a mini-tournament where every single active champion (except Paldea) was present.
Tobias is not relevant, seeing as how he isnt Sinnohs champion
>T-Tobias is not relevant
LMAO. Cope. A better excuse would be no legendaries were allowed in that tournament
Ash beat 2 "legendaries" back in AG/BF
And then again 2 in DP
and 1 in SM

I don't get what this image is trying to say.
taking the piss of coma theory
That was originally about Captain Tsubasa. It only spread from there.

arceus's angels must earn their wings in battle
Shoulda showed up at the end of Masters 8 and sweeped both Ash and Leon
He's coming back in the final episode to invite Ash into a secret league beyond that of the standard E4.
Smogon banned him
Why didn't he appear in Journeys?
I'm sure people would've loved to see Ash clearing a full team of Legendaries.
Paul, Alain and Gary (who arguably isn't even a rival) showed up in JN. There was no reason to try to cram in yet another old rival.

Ash's Charizard hasn't even been used much recently dipshit
And he should've been used against Tobias
I mean't that Ash would've jobbed to a CHARIZARD instead of legendarys if it was a more recent gen.
>And he should've been used against Tobias
i too wouldve loved to have seen chariTARD job to a legendary yet again
Why were people pissed about this?
