it's got worse problems than being limited in how many times you can use tools

Can you guess what I'm about to call you?

Sure, there are bigger issues, but I too can see the game being much more fun if you could use special moves and tools more often. as it is, you end up saving them for nothing and in the fights you want to use your shit more liberally they run out way too fast, even with the Ceremonial Tanto.

Techniques and tools should have used different resources. I know that the intention was making it so there were less things to keep track of but in the process they constrained your ability to actually use the cool stuff they put in the game waaaay too hard.

Thing is, just giving yourself infinite emblems means you now have to artificially limit yourself from just spamming tools because some of them trivialise a lot of stuff.

        >as it is, you end up saving them
Only morons like you bother saving them. You get spirit emblems back from every other enemy you kill, there's never any reason to save them.

There's also never any reason to use them against enemies that aren't explicitly designed to be countered by tools, the game is totally braindead.

Literally all they had to do was make spirit emblems refill at idols.

Yeah these are pretty dumb enemies in Nioh, really unnecessary *gotcha* bullshit that makes levels boring

I can understand esoteric sword techniques being powered by spirit emblems, but simply using an axe that's physically attached to your arm?

It's because it's a cursed axe used in executions.

Sexy Roe has a grappling hook, why can't he fire it at their shields and rip them away?

He could but he just thinks axes are a lot cooler. Also look at the hands on npcs sometime, they're all knobby and huge.

Knobby and huge and ridden with rickets.

Nah, none of it makes sense. Nor CAs nor prosthetics.
At least some prosthetics could use their own resources, like a finite number of shurikens or igniting axe needing some gunpowder to explode. But simple foldable subweapons should be free.

To this day i have no idea why they exist. The vast majority of prosthetics and CA, beyond their niche hard counters like poison against okama wariors, are absolute and utter shit objectively inferior to a normal R1. Some of them are so shit, not only they need to be free to use, but actually give you some benefits for merely utilizing them.

Sekiro's balance is terrible. Maybe some mods have rectified that, but the base game desperately needed a good balance rework with a DLC adding a way to quickly swap CAs.

They didn't want you to realize prosthetics are kinda useless outside of their one niche use.

It's mainly bad because when you first start the game you might run of out of them because you're sucking and dying, and then later when you are good at the game you pretty much have infinite because you're going through areas effeciently and spending your extra cash on them because why not.

As far as it just being limited to 20, it's not too bad. You got the tanto to give you 15 extra, plus you can pop a balloon that raises your chances so high of getting them that each time you kill an enemy you will always replenish some. And it kind of makes sense to limit the player because you can do some really powerful setups like bestowal ninjustsu into spiral cloud passage which destroys everything around you and delete's even miniboss's HP.
