Just play Rising Storm 2 like a normal person. They nailed the balance between realism and gameplay, and battlefield thats supposed to have hundreds of people actively fighting in it does feel like it, unlike the ghost town empty map like all these Hellletlooses and Post Scriptums

I love RO2 but the maps are too narrow for anything resembling flanking or maneuver, especially with the restricted areas being like 60% of the map at any given time. Also don't let Hollywood fool you, a town with 50 houses will absolutely not have 5000 troops in close proximity occupying every window of every house.

Working with your squad and outlining is extremely important and a much better way to play the game. Which is why it's moronic so many people play without a mic and just run in a straight line towards a meatgrinder.

      >game requires a mic to be playable

Yes all multiplayer games should play like single player games because of my tism.

Reall human communication and planning should provide no benefit

no its not, being on voice chat has always been a core part of the multiplayer expereince until zoomers came
you will never experience playing halo in 2006 shooting the shit with random strangers you will never meet

i was considering buying this game, but it's still too expensive, and i don't know what to expect
is this game alive? is it better than battlefield? is there many cheaters?
so many questions, not enough answers.
if it was for 10-15 USD i would just bought it, but 20$ for a game i don't know if im going to like is too much

convince me to buy it. it's on sale for about 20$

One thing you can try is git gud
    >go solo
    >sneak around enemy lines
    >camp some arbitrary spawn and get 5+ without getting caught
    its like crack to me

      >some enemies enter my den
      >kill them
      >more guys run in to check it out
      >kill them too
      >they're furious now, cautiously sneaking in but still don't spot me
      >kill them too until one finally gets me

    >a clan is at your spawn
    >die

    >die
    >die

I understand these games on a level only a handful of people ever will.

The POINT of these games is at the core is squad based infrantry gameplay and tactics. The actual objective can differ, but in HLL you main goal is just capturing points... thats it. At the squad based level this can literally be boiled down to working together as a squad/team to put yourself in a posistion to capture a zone.

This is where the core mechanics of all these types of games open up. That is spawn networks, the entire game revolves around this. in HLL this means you succeed (ideally) by having a Squad leader who is constantly moving your outpost to better and better posistions, thinking minutes ahead and putting you guys (the squad) in better posistions to spawn in so you AREN'T playing a running sim and you only have to run a maybe 30 seconds to get on a cap while the other guys you are killing/trading with take longer thus allowing you to capture points.

Moving your outpost closer and in better spots means working as a squad to control an area and keep pressure on so you dont lose your outpost and possibly the last 10-15 minutes of work getting closer and closer to a posistion to realistically cap a point.

I could write a essay to explain things in more detail but thats the jist of it.

    Spawn networks
    Communication
    Teamwork

Lastly there is a type of player that enjoys playing these games because they are immersive and everyone usually has a mic and its a social expierence you wont find in any other games, it reminds me of like old tf2 lobbies in a way.

Same appeal as stuff like DayZ and MMOs, you go through hours of chores in anricipsti of the fun and rewarding gameplay experience that'll surely come your way at some point, after all it is THEORETICALLY possible.

my experience with this game is when its a good balanced battle going on its really fun and immersive. but the rest of the time is a walking simulator for 10 minutes then dying to an invisible pixel somewhere

Solution: Stop running for 60 seconds.
