I agree on the first point, but defending any console or PC is pretty gay.
Still locked to 30fps even on PS5 is a shame.
I only played and beat it late 2021 to early 2022 and feel extremely nostalgic for it. I've not played any Dark Souls games, but it's nice to know they exist in case I really need something to play kek. It's hard for me to think of something to be critical over
Humanoids bosses are too easy because the parry window is huge
Certain monstrous bosses are only hard because they rape the camera
Chalice dungeons are pretty lame, but they're optional so whatever
Sekiro has better combat as a whole
>1. You have to farm blood vials
you dont >2. Base game bosses are extremely easy
some yes, others not , depends on each person >3. You can mash R1 against most normal enemies and stunlock them to death
good? if enemies dont react to my attacks its a shit game
I like the blood vial system. I feel like it encourages perseverance and onward exploration, whereas in Dark Souls games I feel like I’ve irreparably fucked myself if I use more than 2 vials before I reach the boss. My main gripe is that once you leave Central Yharnam enemies don’t drop vials as consistently anymore
The game isn’t densely populated enough with enemies. The Hunter’s Nightmare is the first area that really feels packed to the gills to the point where I almost felt overwhelmed on my first play through there after how sparsely populated the base game had been up until then.
Blood vial system makes the game too easy once you get past Papa Gascan
Most of the bosses after Amelia are mediocre at best
Dungeons are full of outright bad bosses
Gem system is annoying and has a bad UI
DLC is pretty good but Laurence is one of the worst From bosses ever
?
Blood Starved Beast is easy to parry
I no-hit Amelia on my first attempt, literally just walk behind her
Final two bosses are better than most of the early bosses
Bosses aren’t great in this game I’d agree but they also aren’t really the focus of the game, reminds me of demons souls in that way as opposed to something like sekiro where the levels are just filler between really engaging and difficult boss fights. I don’t mind it
>Weapon that cant be used with papers are fucking useless in combat.
I played so much of the game with Tonitrus though and it was extremely fun. Papers are much better though honestly. I agree with the rest and I do love Elden Ring, but it's so fucking weird remembering all of the different shit there is to do in the huge world. I'd have to take a few years of not playing it to go back and think 'okay I think I'll enjoy these sidequests and the exploration now'
There's actually a lot wrong with it. Your image reminded me of how the title screen is an oddly low res, cropped, and low effort screencap of the box art. It's quite indicative of the whole game, insane amounts of effort and money throw at this project but no one to make sure the whole thing works, looks right and makes sense. Everything is painfully overdesigned, why are there skulls and runes engraved on everything? Its an ugly game to look at, not just because of the designs but some of the worst aliasing and chromatic aberration i've ever seen. The soundtrack is professionally orchestrated and performed, incredibly intricate tracks that play... while a beast is constantly screaming over them so you can't hear any of the details. No one thought of this. The story/lore is the worst they've ever done. Constantly contradicts itself, nothing makes sense but it hides behind the excuse of "its all a dream/nightmare/different plane of reality bro". PvP is the worst its ever been and no one talks about that. Chalice dungeons need no elaboration. Too many weapons trivialise the game. Its downright child's play with the hunter axe. Parry trivialises a lot of bosses that would be cool (Gehrman, Maria) if they didn't become so damn easy by pressing L2. BLT and ARC are non-viable until late game, so practically they are for NG+ builds. So why even let us put points in them? It's a terrible as an RPG. The NPCs are all boring, crazy and/or evil besides Eileen. Quality varies, the late game sucks as in most FROM games. Gameplay is actually the most mashing friendly in the whole series. Blood vial system is terrible. The more time passes the less I ever want to play it again. Its honestly not even a particularly good video game.
10 to 20 fps
Game is mostly set by night, yet you can see everything from afar (excepted inside the castle in Nightmare of Mensis and Upper Cathedral).
>Game is mostly set by night, yet you can see everything from afar (excepted inside the castle in Nightmare of Mensis and Upper Cathedral).
I love this feature, but I get it's immersion breaking kek. I think I hated how it's a shame the draw distance is too primitive to see everything loaded in the distance. I wish it could be remade without anything getting fucked like how Demon's Souls had so many liberties taken on the art style and designs.
The chalice dungeons didn't go far enough, they needed way more dev time and depth
Every time I run a chalice it just feels almost good, so close to being good
Game is heavily carried by its DLC.
On launch loading times where inexcusable.
Performance is shit.
Chalice Dungeon system is shit.
RPG elements barely matter.
>playstation
chalice dungeons should have been customizable and with a editor mode
mommy still doesn't buy you one? dont worry in a few years you'll be able to get a job legally

i dont defend sony, i attack anyone who cries about exclusives because i'm not a poorfag unable to own all consoles
OOF, SO TRUE
butthurt pc.fats
cant fuck the doll
Tried it one time. It wouldn't run. the framerate was like zero frames per second.
first time i see somebody trying to play a game on google image searchs

Sekiro has better combat as a whole
Awful throwing system
Runs at sub 30 stuttery fps
I don’t like the celestial emissaries
Just not fond of the design
Can't warp between lanterns. Sometimes the framerate leaves a lot to be desired. That's about it, one of the greatest games of all time.

c'mon man, blood vials is so good, it was satisfying using that shit tbh
The game isn’t densely populated enough with enemies. The Hunter’s Nightmare is the first area that really feels packed to the gills to the point where I almost felt overwhelmed on my first play through there after how sparsely populated the base game had been up until then.
its soulshit
silky smooth 20fps
chromatic aberration
Items don't auto-replenish from the stock.
After all these years the PC version is still in an unplayable state.

Also your vials and bullets don't restock after invading/being summoned/using the mark

I can't
It's short
Weapon that cant be used with papers are fucking useless in combat. No auto refill on inventory. 30fps. Other than that 10/10 game
That's a good thing. It make it replayable without being a drag, unlike elden ring

Cursed and Defiled Hotdog is fucking BULLSHIT
