unless this update completely overhauls the entire balance of everything, it's gonna be the most unbalanced shitfest of a game that already goes way too overboard by the end
theres already sorceries that require 70 fucking intel, and bosses that can ohk you with any kind of vigor.
i dunno what to expect besides every single enemy having 10k HP and killing you in one or maybe two hits if youre beefy enough.
elden ring should have had traditional level scaling instead of the "past this invisible line rats can one shot you for no some reason" shit instead
Have you considered not getting hit?
The scaling really isnt that bad. if you build your character properly then endgame enemies feel only has hard as limgrave enemies did when you first started at level 1. The scaling is not flawless though, and it is too easy to end up making a weak character that doesnt have enough vigor, or that uses a wrong talisman like a soreseal on a melee build whihc fucks you over lategame badly.
It would be easy for them to make the scaling of DLC fine it could just be haligtree levels of difficulty and only noobs would complain.
I'm expecting every enemy to STILL have massive fucking holy resist because faith isn't weak enough already.
do you people play the game or just make up complaints about it?
Do you? From Altus onward nearly every enemy and boss gets jacked up holy resist.
If you can use holy incants, you can also use flame and godslaying blackflame, and lightning.
Faith isn't only restricted to holy incants unless you're role playing a fundamentalist.
You retarded?
Faith has access to ALL damage types via the diferent schools besides Glintstone magic.
You have rock throw, 20 lightning miracles, 20 fire ones and holy to instatkill deathbirds and other unholy shit.
>he still thinks the game that FTH has arguably been at its strongest ever in is weak because of holy resists of all things
you know both final bosses crumble under fire damage, that thing that FTH shits out like crazy?
Fire damage, or Blasphemous Blade and Black Fireball specifically? I recall almost every pyromancy needing a fuckload of Int.
You’re misremembering, all the fire incants scale off faith
Gelmir Sorceries (what you're probably thinking of) are just that: Sorceries.
I expect the enemies to make ones in Elphael look like toddlers. The tradeoff is that they won’t have the same wombo combo anime nonsense or teleportation that others have.
>The tradeoff is that they won’t have the same wombo combo anime nonsense or teleportation that others have.
LOL, m8 this is elden ring, the most anime game fromsoft has ever produced. yes, even more anime than metal wolf chaos.
Not at all, ER has far less anime combos than DS3 and BB.
The game is generally 30-40% slower on average than DS3 for both the player and bosses and even the fastest bosses are nowhere near Abyss Watchers, Pontiff or Freide's level of fast attacks with near instant wind-ups.
ER in fact uses a lot of very slow wind-ups to get players to panic roll early and get them that way.
>Not at all, ER has far less anime combos than DS3 and BB.
And then you have bosses doing 5 flips during 10 attack combo
You may be confusing several attacks (with wind-up and recovery animations) with a single combo/attack.
Even some of the most agressive in your face bosses like Crucible Knights have enough of a window that even colosal weapons can do rolling or jumping attacks between individuals swings and still roll away in time.
The problem is some players are dickless and so afraid to get hurt, they just keep waiting for an "opening" that never comes
Actually, almost boss has a "retard" attack to give low skill players a huge opening, this is why bad players say bosses in ER/souls games are tedious because they're just 5 mins of rolling to get 1 attack in.
lmao, when the knight swept in and got goomba stomped it reminds me of a mikiri counter
the fuck are you talking about? nobody is talking about how difficult(or not) it is to get attacks in, we're talking about how anime styled elden ring ended up being
Yep, you are that one Elden Ring schizo that defends every awful part of Elden Ring using same 10 webms
Fuck off
more katanas than even sekiro, a game literally set in japan
special consideration to wielding a katana and the tanto; it gets a special moveset that no other non-similar weapon combination gets
tons of weapon arts that are flippy spinny twirly moves that shoot energy beams or blasts or waves or end in explosions
literal and very out of place samurai class
melania's flurry of bullshit with phantom swings because she's moving so fast she's imperceptible, straight out of an anime
horah loux is straight out of anime
ER is anime as fuck
Malenia's attack is a moving area of effect like Gaping Dragon's charge, not individual swings you're espected to roll.
the ash of war version though is infact individual swings, and you can see it more easily when you're out of FP. 1, 2, 34, 5 6 7, 89, 10 ,11 (12)
Ashes of boss moves are always nerfed versions because the player character isn't a demigod.
>Ashes of boss moves are always nerfed versions
And that's a problem
I should be able to do all of the Abyss Watchers' moveset
At least mods exist
Nah, player limitation is what makes things more creative.
Like doom would be awful if you started with an infinite ammo BFG every level.
I mean that cloud of white swipes that get generated around her. That's visual styling of her moving so fast she's imperceptible, especially that final flurry at the very end of the string when her model is still. Mechanically it's just an AOE bubble, not individual swings. VISUALLY it's a hundred swings that you just can't perceive because she's moving too fast.
yes I know what you're talking about, I too have eyes and have seen fate.
it just seems some people don't because they're talking mechanics
>horah loux is straight out of anime
I get the other shit but how is my bro Hoarah straight out of anime?
well, straight out of Tekken, really.
>horah loux is straight out of anime
It's the fucking Ultimate Warrior, retard.
>more katanas than Sekiro
which has two. seems like a pretty low bar to be considered anime.
>bosses that can ohk you with any kind of vigor.
Who? I dumped all my points into vigor/stamina/STR and steamrolled the fuck out of ER. I also had the damage reduction talismans equipped.
With waterfowl dance and the other clone attack malenia has, its reasonable to expect the expansion to have something even worse than that already.
But i guess at that point its about just not getting touched as always.
Dying in one hit just gets old, fast.
Im playing a sorcery glass cannon character and its like a race to kill them before they can touch you, cant say I enjoy it more than my faith build or powerstancing collossals
I'll probably use the faith build on the first run of the expansion cause i like incants the most but powerstancing was too strong in the base game
Nothing kills you in 1 hit in ER.
It’s a given that more focused builds are stronger but I’m replaying with a build similar to yours now and it’s insane how easy it is. Feels like pure DEX (without blood-loss or status effect weapons) would be harder, pure STR is a breeze cus you stagger everything whilst doing huge damage
I haven't played in a while now, did they ever patch weapons like UGS being able to instantly do attacks by crouching?
Think so but not sure, using great-hammers atm
>theres already sorceries that require 70 fucking intel, and bosses that can ohk you with any kind of vigor
Not unless you get thrown off the arena.
Would not be the problem is Elden Ring used Sekiro combat system
God imagine the KINO if that actually happened
Fuck that’d be dope, probably be hard to balance but it could’ve worked something like this
>blocking with shield is normal block+guard counter
>blocking with a weapon is a parry with a small timing window, adds to poise damage if you get it but if you fuck up it leaves you open
>weapon types and sizes could affect parry difficulty
Please bring back sekiro combat fromsoft it’s one of your best games
God I'd have loved that fucking parry being in this game
it'll be interesting to see if the dlc is all endgame, as usual. Will you be expected to start at level 125? You're pretty close to softcaps at endgame.
>mfw I'm on NG +3
>mfw I farmed albinaurics for hours and reached lvl 250+
>You need high stats.... for endgame????......... WHAT'S THIS UNBALANCED BULLSHIT, WORST GAME EVER!!!!!
Was this thread made by a toddler?
Can’t wait to walk around into a fog wal and find Malenia and Mohg in the same boss room for no reason and no explanation given
Nah, nome of FROM's DLCs ever did that.
They made a DLC where you fight two cats after traversing a hard to see blizzard of respawning deer.
Yes, and it wasn't 2 of the main bosses at once like you described.
If it was Rotten + Sinner, them you'd have a point.
Elana summons Velstadt as an add. It's not quite what he's describing, but it's similarly dumb.
fucking btfo
It's their distant relatives Millylana and Mohgrick that you'll fight in an evergaol.
Nah, they'll be in something completely new. They're called NEVERgaols.
maybe the devs are encouraging players not to limit themselves to some autistic maximum level meta
softcaps are a thing
there's not a lot of room to get stronger than what you get in the base game
Most likely DLC content will probably add/change a bunch of shit to the world as well, maybe some lower level 50-60 stuff, and a bunch of 80-100 stuff besides the main 125+ chunk of the DLC.
The fact that it's taking soo long means it's gonna be huge, not surprised if the DLC makes the game bigger by 50%, kinda like the 3 Crown DLCs did for DS2.
when is this coming out, any predictions?
Armored Core will release at the end of August, so I hope it still releases within this year
I'm guessing early-mid next year, no evidence or anything. I imagine that BN/FS would want to leave AC6 uncontested for the remainder of the year (holiday season, etc) as far as "release competition" is concerned. also, to me, the announcement wording made it seem like it was going to be much further out than sometime later this year.
but I haven't kept up with any follow up news/information, so maybe someone else has a more informed opinion.
It'll be graded for around after beating Morgott I reckon, when Melina's "2nd journey" starts.
Is this the longest it ever took to make a DLC?
Nah, Tears of the Kingdom took 6 years.
OUCH
I hope this will be like the Scholar of the First Sin.
If they'll pull that of Elden Ring might actually be really good one day.
A lot of people forget that the best parts of Dark Souls 3 were a part of the DLC content.
>I hope this will be like the Scholar of the First Sin.
This is a big ask and infinitely unlikely to happen but my dream wish is if it completely remixes the game by getting rid of the open world and everything touched by it
>This is a big ask and infinitely unlikely to happen
I dunno, this is probably the longest dev time for a DLC they ever do, they certainly have the time to do it. As for getting rid of the open world, based on the promotion pic, i'm afraid they'd rather double down on it.
It will be the same scaling as the entire last third of the game, and doable at lvl1 like every souls game and dlc ever. I'd be more concerned about being overleveled if you play it with your already lvl150 char.
I beat the base game with 36 vig (and barely any armor), despite being level 200
sounds like you have metafag issues. git gud scrub.
unless you beat the game at RL1 no armor, un-upgraded broken sword, no items, you didn’t actually beat the game. Get fucked gay
so dont buy it dickhead
>70 fucking intel
I have AMD for my cpu instead intel, I'm totally fucked.
Why are you crying about it when it's not even out yet?
You already filtered yourself, loser.
this dlc is the weirdest thing honestly, the base game being so huge, and them taking like two whole years to make a dlc after the hype is gone, it's gonna be like half the size of er, meaning the size of a whole dark souls, and it's anything less then it'll disappoint, but it'll still be too small to be its own game with you starting over at level 0, what a mindfuck it must be for devs, they should just do dark souls 4 instead, fuck what er did and fuck open world
DLCs are usually made as endgame content, and most players end up around RL 100 after the final boss in elden ring. I personally made a 130 character just for this dlc which is still is only in NG
>end up around RL 100 after the final boss
if you do basically any exploration whatsoever you'll end up a bit above 120 without grinding and allowing for some significant "whoops lost all my runes" moments
>most players end up around RL 100 after the final boss in elden ring.
I'm pretty sure the average level is closer to 130.
