The second game is almost always the best version because it's where they look at what the first game did right and wrong and refine it to perfection. And after that there's nowhere to go but down or sideways.

For me, it's Okayasu and Rohan.
I know it was going for a slice of life thing, but any time they weren't progressing the very strong mystery plot at the center of the entire series, I just wanted to tune out. You could easily skip half the series and miss nothing. Slice of life stories should at least develop the characters, but it doesn't do that either. It wound up just detracting from the more interesting storyline.
Stardust Crusaders has lots of filler-y episodes too, but at the very least you know that each enemy of the week being beaten means they're closer to their destination.
what I love most about part 4 is how many fun and cool stands come out of it. Even if the character was stupid, they at least had a cool stand. Not to say they were all gems, like gay ass Superfly, but most of my favorites were in part 4

It'll keep him buff from the very start. Whenever there are multiple iterations of a character, the anime will tend to run with the latter. In the part 4 manga the dude with the lock stand was tall at the beginning and became short after koichi merced him, but the anime kept him short from the beginning. In part 3 there was a panel near the beginning when we saw a bird on Dio's shoulder when he was in his lair that was presumably supposed to be petshop, but when petshop actually showed up he had a more fleshed-out character design. Again, the anime changed this retroactively.
You get the idea. I'll be very surprised if the anime alludes to fat valentine at all

I feel like Araki really didn't know where he was going and what he wanted to do with it except at that moment where he made a great story and then it went down again when he had to finish what he started first.
Part 8 is a dog who's in the prime of his life and suddenly has a stroke. The merciful thing would be to put it out of its misery but instead you dragged out its suffering far longer than necessary and one day woke up to find it dead in a corner.

No spoilers please, but what's wrong with the Stone Ocean anime so far? I've been enjoying it, but it seems like the actual story hasn't begun yet. I'm waiting for it to wrap up before diving into the manga.
Batch release kills hype and discussion, pretty QUALITY too, not a great OST (Jolyne's theme is great but is overused). Minor things too like skipping some prison world building.
I don't mind the lack of hype, but then again I watched everything in one go just before Stone Ocean. It is pretty annoying to try and watch them on release though because it's not a story that has an obvious timeskip or suitable moment to take a break.
Is this next batch of episodes the last half or do you think there'll be another gap?

everything the other poster said. some awkward animation issues clearly caused by rushing the production to meet Netflix deadline and releasing in chunks is kind of... nonsensical. aside from killing the regular JoJo Fridays hype, it kills the growth of a community around the show. Golden Wind became a meme (in a good way) due to the way it was released and the hype cycle. Stone ocean kind of throws that away.
Not terrible by any means, but don't expect anything resembling part 5 hype and discussion and memeing, at least until shit really kicks off towards the end.

Eh, he's stoic for the most part and seems to spend the most time in his own head calculating things out, but it's very fun to try and spot Dio in him in the process. The truth is the cast got lucky, everyone would have died if the kid didn't call josuke and make him late and even that was lucky, if Josuke had ignored the phone or gone a different way and hadn't run into kira then everyone would have still been killed by BTD.
