People who bitch about "replay value" aren't worth listening to. They can't comprehend the idea that a game can be so enjoyable you want to experience it multiple times just for the fun of it

      this is actually true,
when loser redditors say "replay value" it implies that the game has branching paths or is inherently replayable because you can do different things each time

my most replayed games are the most linear games that just happen to be good

I agree. But there are games you want to replay and experience again but it’s never the same the first time I.e. elden ring and is just less enjoyable

That has nothing to do with replay value in the traditional sense.

I played this multiple times with restrictions. Second play where I decided I wouldn't cheese anything and that I wouldn't use anything OP was great.

I never replayed a single game and never will. My time is too valuable for that.

Sekiro has no replay value because all of the non boss/miniboss encounters are either bad, boring or not fun because fighting basic mobs 1 on 1 is easy and fighting basic mobs 1 on 2+ is either gimmicky or impossible. After beating it there's no reason not to just sit at a Buddha shrine and replay bosses form memories.

I'm almost finishing this game and I don't know if I'll ever play this again. This game is so stressful and intense at times, that when I do finish I'll take a big vacation from hard games.

I'm not being contrarian, but there's 4 endings. Really none of them majorly deviate from each other in gameplay. Just the bad ending means you fucked up, sided with Owl and missed the rest of the game.
You'd play it a max of 5 times.

I played each DS game only once. And yet, I 100%d Sekiro and still come back every once in a while for the boss rushes.

"replay value" the way it's used is a completely invalid term in my experience. I've blasted through Portal 2 and Max Payne 3 several times despite both games ticking next to zero boxes of features that are generally considered to provide "replay value". I could not be arsed to complete Far Cry 4 a second time even though it's designed to maximize player freedom in its core gameplay.

in the end, good games are enjoyable on repeat playthroughs even if the game experience is precisely the same.

A good action game doesn't need extrinsic reward carrot bullshit to make you wanna play it again. It just has good gameplay and that's what makes you wanna replay it.
The average retard gamer has been conditioned by progression systems and skill trees and other retarded shit so they literally can not play a game just for the gameplay

Pic related, zero replay value by the average current day retard's definition, yet I've completed it more than 50 times.
