How would she fare in a killing game?

Assuming she survives the first round, the chances of her going on past the fifth are still rather slim.

Well, either she (is staged to look like she) murders someone, or she herself is murdered via strangling.

I've never played V3 but as far as waifus, go here's my two cents

Best to worst (For me anyways):

    THH
    >Bacon Hands: Best legs, I'm usually not a big "emotionally distant and cold" guy, but she sold it well. The only downside is the detective autism that comes with her.
    >Mukuro: Seems like a pretty sweet girl and is even willing to go against her dreams for Naegi (something that goes both Maizono and Bacon Hands) and she got some of the best free-time events and school mode stuff.
    >Maizono: Waifu-bait, and framing you murder aside, I really like her design, and her colors are easy on the eyes. She also gets a good amount of development in the one chapter you have her.
    >Genocider>>>Toko: Best comic relief, and she even got her own game
    >Aoi: Objectively the best choice, she's the most normal of the girls, and she made chapter 4 good
    >Sakura: If you can get past the looks or you're musclegirlgay she's fairly down to earth and polite. Second best choice.
    >Celeste: Shit outside of the design, execution, and her losing her shit during the third trial. Got fatty to kill the best boy right in the middle of his character arc, then fricked him over, acts like a moron during the trial and easily gets caught, and then goes DUDE EUROPEAN CASTLE LMAO
Junko: DUDE DESPAIR LMAO WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS WORDS Overrated as frick villain

    All in all, pretty good.

      GD
      >Peko: Is the best of all worlds. Is a competent swordfighter, but not devoid of femineity. She's willing to lay down her life for you provided you're a 5'4 yakuza with a tennis ball haircut >She also stole the show during the second trial and got one of the two feelkino executions in the game.
      >Chiaki: Is basically Bacon Hands if she was an autistic gamer without the detective autism. Was a complete saint despite being an A.I. and came back from the dead to help you BTFO A.I. Junko
      >Mahiru: Didn't think much of her during the main game, but her free-time events are the sweetest in the whole game. She's basically a normal version of Peko (minus the sword fighting skills and the self-sacrificing thing)
      >Akane: My favorite design of all the DR2 girls (solely for the breasts) Her expressions for top-tier, and she's one of the better comic reliefs.
      >Ibuki: She was one of the more entertaining characters and her performance during chapter 3 was one of the best scenes. That said she felt kinda shallow and wasn't my favorite, but I completely understand why people like her.
      >Sonia: Gag character, but still funny. I liked her stories about her country and its strange traditions more than liked her to be honest
      >Mikan: Overrated I wasted like god knows how many of my FTEs trying to talk to her because the gays here kept talking her up, so I decided to find out what all the fuss is about. Total letdown. Lesson learned: Never listen to Ganker The despair disease stuff was neat and served some good foreshadowing on the final twist, but that's about it. Her execution also sucked, and was the worst in the series so far
      >Hiyoko: Obnoxious as frick, but I have a soft spot for smug e-girls, she also got a good joke in here and there.

Same as the last one, pretty good. I feel like THH gets better moments in the game but has simpler FTEs. GD has more gag characters, but the FTEs are better.

Literally what the frick did Kaede see in Shuichi?

Then nobody would give a shit. Her death's designed to make you sad.
That being said, I'm not really invested in anyone during chapter 1, so I didn't really care. She was kind of boring.

I was being sarcastic. I actually like Shuichi. That line from the rhythm section of the last trial is just engraved into my mind because I had to retry it a million times.

I just posted it in the other DR thread that's up but it would have been amazing if the first trial gave you the choice as Kaede to throw Shuichi under the bus, frame him for your murder, then try to live with the lie afterwards. Would have fit perfectly with the game's themes too. Would have given her some really interesting character development with how she copes, could have been cool conflict if/when people figure it out.

        Anonymous

That wouldn't work at all because if they didn't choose Kaede then they all would have died.

          Anonymous

But it would work because Kaede didn't kill him in the first place, it was Tsumugi. Kaede wouldn't know how she got off the hook, that would be a mystery for end game like normal.

            Anonymous

Yeah but then Kaede knows that the rules don't mean jack shit because the mastermind will just fricking lie and cheat and then the game falls apart.
Also, it's just extremely out of character for Kaede to do this.

            >Mastermind killed Ranny
            >Mastermind frames Kaede
            >Due to the rules of the game they all should have died when picking Kaede
            >Kaede takes the fall, and the game continues on normally

Then what's the point? If the mastermind can just break her own rules whenever she wants and decide who lives and who dies on a whim, then why even bother trying to kill or survive if it's all decided on by the c**t running the show? This even happens in the first game when Monokuma sets up the mock-trial to get rid of Bacon Hands and they point out his bullshit.

that's what I'm saying. Kaede has to be the official fall guy because she thinks she did it otherwise the game goes to shit.

              >Yeah but then Kaede knows that the rules don't mean jack shit
But she can't share that info with anyone without betraying how she know. She has to play along or be exposed as a murderer. This kind of despair is just what Monokuma loves.
              >Also, it's just extremely out of character for Kaede to do this.
People afraid of death do all kinds of awful things. Also that would provide the character drama. She would have to find herself and right her wrong to end the game and atone.

Would have been awesome if there was an alternate route where Kaede and Rantaro survive Chapter 1 and Shuichi and Tsumugi die instead, with the Killing Game completely derailing and Monokuma trying to keep it all together.

That would be rad too. I get branching paths make a VN more expensive but DR would really have benefitted from them.

                >But she can't share that info with anyone without betraying how she know. She has to play along or be exposed as a murderer.
So what? I don't get this weird characterization of Kaede where she's willing to ruthlessly get Shuichi killed after trying to save everyone, then is willing to cover for the mastermind just to save face. She still wants everyone to make it out and not kill each other presumably (unless this version now randomly hates everyone for some reason). Why would she say nothing when exposing the mastermind's deception completely disincentives all killing. Everyone would know that even if they do get away with murder the mastermind will just lie to keep them there, so nobody would ever try to kill to escape. The downside of looking like an butthole is pretty negligible compared to the upside of a group united against the mastermind.

Would have been awesome if there was an alternate route where Kaede and Rantaro survive Chapter 1 and Shuichi and Tsumugi die instead, with the Killing Game completely derailing and Monokuma trying to keep it all together.

This version would be kinda cool as a what if scenario like the LN you unlock in DR2 about Mukuro. I'd love a version of the story where things immediately go off the rails.

Anon, that was the literal point of the final trial. They were trying to prove that the rules didn’t actually matter hoping it would turn the mystery audience away from the killing game thus beating monokuma, the. it derailed itself with the meta shit
